@montimer357 a fellow PS developer! Please join my development. I am working on a 'secret' project at the moment so if your skills are high in PS dev, then let me know! I know what you need this software for, and I have it :)
Yep, this was considered the best 3D app on DOS. From 2D to post-prod. I miss this good old days too, but I'm still happy we now have FREE 3D toolset like Blender. Few people could afford 3DS back then...
good old days!! really miss them. used to love working on 3ds4 everyday after school. i still remember , i was in my 5th grade and it was 1995.. dang :(. now its all totally complicated software yet cool though nothing like 3ds4 and back in the time ;/..
This brings back so many memories. I recall having to mess for a day with the display settings and drivers (VIBRANT) to get the graphics card working properly. That ISA Tseng Labs with 2 megabytes was a luxury back then.
Plus, waiting 2 days for the render to finish. When Max was released, I hated it - all the CAD-like precision of the original was completely gone and the menu looked cluttered and bloated.
After that I dabbled with Moray + POVRay for a while - finally, reflections that worked!
you can find the documentation on the net, but it's really hard to find decent tutorials. if you have some 3d modeling knowledge, these youtube tutorials can help you to figure out how 3ds r4 works .
fantastic.
btw, i lol'd at the filename

If it is under Windows, how du you make it work?

How big is the file size?
Anyways, this one is really cool.(I used to "play" with my Max 8,but this?Just shocked, because it looks more harder to use.)
