Eric Alston! Eric Alston! Eric Alston! Where ya at? Give the drummer some! We need some of that with you & Simply the Band! We need to break out in a cold sweat, and ride the pony! J.B in concert had to be the greatest show on earth!
The concert was shown live on WGBH in Boston as a hope that it would quell the tensions and prevent riots that other cities were hit with after Dr. King's murder. Boston Mayor Tim White (who recently passed away) paid James the amount he lost at the gate from people who stayed at home to watch. Great documentary about this called "The Night James Brown Saved Boston" Highly recommend. Thanks to SoulShizzle for the upload
SoulShizzle: This is a historic video that gives context to the emotional events that transpired at Boston Garden on Friday night a day after MLK, Jr was killed. I remember going to work that Friday morning angry at the white racist who murdered Dr King, and lashed out at a white co-worker to vent my anger at the cowardly killers who stopped America's prince of peace, Martin Luther King, Jr. James Brown and The Flames did an outstanding job at Boston Garden with heavy hearts - bravo to them!
Toujours aussi mortel la période (67 68 69) BIEN joué ce live moi je kiffe aussi celui de Dallas août 68 le say it live et les apollos, merci pour cette publication
Great upload, this performance blew me away, absolutely brilliant. To quote a member of the audience "It transported you to a place a foot off the ground".

Bobby Byrd was sometimes overlooked, but he was more than a "trusty side-kick", but what can you do when your life time band mate is J.B.
