Inefficient bedtime story - the best painter

Mister A was afraid of the fact that mister B wasn't impressed/worried by his painting and he preferred to declare himself as loser in order to close the competition so that mister B his painting would never be uncovered. In this way Mister A his painting would be etched in the peoples memories as the best and they would have never seen B.

So you could ask yourself who the real winner/loser is.
