I wish mine would talk! We got him from a woman who had cancer but he is already grown and its hard to teach him since he is not used to human comapnionship or being out of his cage. Well, he is out now and hate being put back in it.. I try teaching him but he snaps at me after saying the words. Though he is learning "I love you"

Clearly the bird was well socialized because he was very friendly and fit in very easily. He kept saying "coco coco coco" so we named him Coco, and he now lives the life of a king.

Ur Ringneck is beautiful. Months ago was looking on Craigslist 4 a cockatiel cage.Ended up finding a ringneck.He looked exactly like yours. Got very little advice from the owner on his care. He has started to scratch at himself and has removed his feathers from his head and the side of his face.After research I've moved his cage (busy living room) and am trying to devote an hour to him every day. He likes me most and is tame. Any advice?

You've already seen how the new environment caused behavioral changes. Just like people, birds differ in personalities - some just need extra time to bounce back. Ringnecks are naturally social birds requiring attention. I had mines since he was a baby - my situation cannot be compared to yours.

@kingjel He may or may not grow out of it. Be patient and continue daily interaction without being too intrusive. Pets are to be loved unconditionally ;-)
AWH I LOVE HIM!!!, My Checko is same colour and everything, they look like clones of each other :L I think they would get on very well lol :), Cheecko isn't really a talking type (wish he was), but he's good at mimicing sounds, he mimcs our phone ringing, and just makes weird noises love him though, he loves giving me kisses <3
