I beat Culex at lvl 21 average, because Peach was equipped with Safety Badge and Lazy Shell (armor version). The battle was extremely long though... so long that Culex ran out of FP!

Heh, basically the same over here.

Mario was level 18, was holding Attack Scarf...Geno was 21, holding Jinx Belt......And Peach was 18, holding Frying Pan. Long as hell match, but worth it. Changed Jinx Belt to Peach and gave Quartz Charm to Geno. Made everyone in my party able to hold a badass equip.

His Crystals were a pain in the ass too. Thankfully Geno had really good magic defense so when Mario or Bowser (or anyone else) was taken down, Geno would do the reviving since the crystals magic attacks did hardly any damage at all. That was a newfound strategy before I could defeat him.
