Andrew, next to Justin Sandercoe and Marty Schwartz you are definitely my new guitar mentor -especially on theory side. Justin is a little bit systematic, Marty is a little bit funkier- :)
@ertansaygi , Thanks for the kind words... Those dudes, (Justin & Marty), are two of the hardest working teachers I see posting here on YouTube, thanks for the association to them with your comment... Appreciate it.
Haha, that's the same three guys I watch too, all different and all great. Keep up the good work Andrew, your lessons have really helped me a lot and I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into them
i have such a hard time relating the notes on the staff to the notes on the fretboard. I know musical theory, and have been reading sheet music for years. It's just seeing a note and finding it on the fretboard, and vice versa, is a continuing roadblock for me.
Andrew, Another excellent lesson! Question, what is that software you use for staff, fingerboard layout and being able to drag around the scale shape? I would love to have this software at home to use for my practices and printing out fingerboard diagrams!
@gouda25 ... It's Photoshop CS3. I'm using some JPG images for the neck and notes on the bottom there, and that sliding scale idea was done using a transparent PNG image. To write on the screen I'm just using Photoshop's pen tool. That's it.

Easy to understand. Yet it sounds so advanced! That's why so many don't give a duck about theory, but just play. Which works as well.
