What worked for me in getting rid of flicker was in mental ray setting is to use final gather mapping and to use a interpolation of at least 2 to 4 frames and in the vue settings to set softness to 35%.
Hey awesome work....a silly question though did you render this using a single BOXX cos you said "nodes" how many in total did it take to get you this output ?
also as a newbie to VUE what would be the recommended config to get something going ?
yes i wanted to know if aside from Boxx systems are there any others you can recommend ?
Boxx systems are powerful however they are fairly expensive & id agree that price to performance its a worthwhile investment, but are there options that are a bit lighter on the wallet ?
yes i agree i did not give the clouds really much attention I just pop in one of the new Asile fx spectral clouds i got from cornucopia. thank you for the kind comment.
nah nah man in fact there are real takes thath sometimes might look unreal due the camera or even the point of view if you wanna make the clouds better just put a few upper or lower and thats it. anyway in a real scenario that clouds could actually be turned in that position by a blizzard or something (nature tells). btw can you tell me waths the config of your machine ( procss, ram & vid card) and how long took you to render please excuse my english im from Venezuela
hello friend ...every time i import a scene from vue to max and i render i get a black screen ! what should i do ?

Hi, can i have some more info on your settings with Vue and mental ray?
I'm working on a pretty big project, with some heavy polygon scenes from Vue (8.5).
And i need to find an average of 10 min per frame (17000 frames total), these are animations, so need to reduced as much noise as possible.
Your result seems fine.
Thanks

This must have taken a LIGHTYEAR to render! It must have taken a whole farm of animals to render this thing!!!

I used the bulky conifer and the cone shape conifer.

As a vue user myself, I must say this looks very great.
Although, there's something about the clouds. Not sure what though.
