@FunAndJokes it depends if the desktop has a wifi adapter, then it should detect it and tell you that you need drivers for it.

@Sonicrulz12 Ahh... hmm, some say it's not legal, but if you can find an .iso online somewhere, as long as you use your key you should be ok, but don't take my word for it. I think you can contact Microsoft and say you need a copy. If I remember correctly, it's very cheap this way, since you have a key already.

lol haha i use my netbook for adobe stuff... i put an extra 2 gigs of ram in my aspire one D255 series netbook and now runs hella fast... haha almost like my main pc haha....

Now you need to install "ubuntu-tweak" , "LMMS" , Gnome-Do then it will be rocking ... I love LMMS have you ever tried it ? Even if your not good at music you'll like it...

@bugzee77 In this video, I had 2 computers - 1 pc with 2 monitors, and the other pc for the other 2 monitors. I have used 4 monitors on 1 pc before, and I just used 2 dual port video cards (1 pcie and 1 pci - same chipset cards - used same driver - you have to be able to use the same video driver).

is there any chance that you could help me. i cant get ubuntu to load off the hard drive, ive tried using two different hard drives and each time it wont load. i can run it from a memory stick fine, but i dont want to do that, ive tried using a partician, and a complete install. when i turn the netbook on the bios loads and it just flashes the same dash sign and does absolutely nothing from there other than that.

Planning on buying an acer aspire can anyone give me some tips on installing Ubuntu out of the box? what should i do for partitioning and such??

@khoops66 Make sure the first thing you do is boot into Win 7 and make your Acer emergency disks (in case you need to sell it, or just want to start from scratch). Then pop in a Ubuntu CD (hope you have an external cd/dvd player - or read up on the flash drive install) and start the install. Jump in our live chat and ask all your questions there, since we have a few Linux experts who are happy to assist.

@Niteowler Thanks niteowler ;) now that 10.10 is out, for some reason, I am not into the whole Ubuntu thing as much as I used to be... Try out Debian (core install), very fast, etc.
