First time I saw this movie I was high as shit. Right around 0:56 was where the movie went from being an awesome low budget flick, to a religious experience. And not in a ham-fisted "shut the fuck up about God already" one like in ST3 where the sky marshal just would not get off his damn cross...although the way that one ended almost made up for it. But I thought ST2 had one of the best endings since Scarface.

he knew that if he survived they would imprison or execute him as a murderer

but if he died and the girl/pilot told his story it would be one of a "HERO OF THE FEDERATION" used to motivate men to enlist

@crockpotorcrackpot Originally, they wanted the movie to be about Sgt Zim, but Clancy Brown was busy having an acting career, so they had to change the character to Captain Dax.

Dax was pretty much the only character I liked because he had the balls to stand up to the federation

@Gramra One of only two or three good parts in the entire movie.  A shame you have to sit through the whole damn thing to GET to any of the good parts. :-D
