I've seen both MJ & Prince live. I've been 2 their concerts. IN MY OPINION, Prince is better than Michael. Why? Because Prince will sing, play, & dance (sometimes all at once) on stage & his vocals are live. Michael, at some point, began 2 lip sync. Look at the post-Dangerous Tour footage. Now, the last MJ concert I went 2 was the BAD Tour (when he was singing live 100%). Not only that, Mike doesn't play any instruments live. He sings & dances. That's it. That's why I love Prince!!!

My opinion on Prince vs. Michael was not a general opinion. It's mine. I prefer Prince over Mike. I'm not taking anything away from Mike because I'm inspired by him as well. And, Prince & Mike were actually good friends. Their rivalry remained on records (or music) only. It's been revealed that they were both good friends. There were gifts that Mike had that Prince doesn't have and there are gifts that Prince has that Mike didn't. Like I said, "I favor Prince more than Mike".

My opinion on this matter is impartial, I rather look at who was more respected as an artist, Prince won on this one, he was considered the most influential artist of the 80's, everyone from U2 to Dylan respected him, MJ was more about selling singles then making concept albums, still he was very good as a Pop entertainer.
Money don't matter, popularity don't matter, sells don't matter, what matter is quality.

I've seen both MJ & Prince live. I've been 2 their concerts. IN MY OPINION, Prince is better than Michael. Why? Because Prince will sing, play, & dance (sometimes all at once) on stage & his vocals are live. Michael, at some point, began 2 lip sync. Look at the post-Dangerous Tour footage. Now, the last MJ concert I went 2 was the BAD Tour (when he was singing live 100%). Not only that, Mike doesn't play any instruments live. He sings & dances. That's it. That's why I love Prince!!!

Personally I think Prince was overall the greatest talent on stage but cmon his performance here was terrible.
I think he was simply caught of guard and didn't know what to do. Guitar - nothing great, steps up to the mic but again draws a blank and starts rubbing on himself.
He could of soloed like he did on "Guitar Gently Weeps" or broke into an impromptu "Irresistible B---" vocal that would've fit well over the background groove, but instead he just froze

I'm not very good playing guitar, but I know enough about the instrument in particular and music in general to know that his playing in this video is rather poor..I think I did exaggerate a bit my comment...the solo isn't bad for the first 10 seconds, but come on, rythm you said? that thing at 3:20 is supposed to be right on point? I just think that he should have started directly with the pseudo dancing-body showing thing, because he lacks the technique to pull off a good solo.just my view :)
