  • Just bought this cd. It's in my top ten. Love this song SO much. He is inspiring and makes me dance around my house. Thx, Richard!

  • Honestly, you could tell me this was a Beatles cover and I'd believe it....atleast until I wiki'd it. lol.

  • I love his face... It's amazingly full of character and a strange beauty

  • Excellent excellent excellent

  • @Colleykins dude I totally fucking agree!

  • he is the best, i wish him and the verve would reunite

  • This pleased my ears the from the first second, I'm going out and buying this CD.

  • @Colleykins, I was in total agreement with you until your last sentence. First you are saying that music is subjective and there's no need to criticize, then you go on to call some of the music today, "shit". Sounds to me like criticism.

  • @Colleykins Total agreement with you mate. There are so many critics of his solo work but all I know is there is something about his solo work that I always go back to no matter how much other music I listen to in between. Something about it makes me feel there is at least one person in the world who understands how I'm feeling!

  • @Colleykins. Couldnt have said it any better myself

  • RPA always IS the high road have u noticed? critics, stones, legal drones nobody can touch his truth integrity! he's lyrically musically breaking the darkness with sound and colour one song at a time - creating a new world without all the bs negativity - just being real, inspiring evolution. isn't it great being consciously 'outta the box' stepped out of the illuminati matrix machine, Lovin' appreciating him and his awesome music. me celebrating his immense gift to our world and you all in it!

  • i'm a straight male, but every guy has a mancrush, he's mine, but i dunno why, theres summin about him...

  • For every one of you idiots that decided to vote against liking this video: SOD OFF.

  • one of his best...i love this song:)

  • greatest singer / song writer of our generation in my opinion!

  • @Colleykins i could not agree more.Hes a forgotten LEGEND.....shame on all the haters!

  • I completely agree with @collykins He is a forgotten LEGEND make no mistake

  • anyone know what prison that is?

  • @mrtraffic97 It's HMP Brixton - the opening scene is the old Hospital Exercise Yard

  • all bow to the king!

  • adoro questa canzone!!!

  • i prefere ashcroft solo than the verve i saw him support oasis and he blew them away shit hot

  • he's kinda hot.. ;)

  • he is a legend, quiet and unassuming: that is genuine and appealing to fans

  • what's to criticise? He is doing his thing. Fuck em!

  • what's to criticise? He is doing his thing. Fuck em!

  • amazing song...remind me my ex girl friend

  • fuck the critics, this guy is a true musician

  • his sense of melody and harmony style are above most musicians

  • @pietrogutta .oh well said, agree

  • This is beautiful stuff, really, so good at putting into words his personal fears and cares

  • great comment, thats so true..

  • Love this video. Reminds me of work! ;) LOL

  • stabbed ma first perp to this, good times.

  • that sounds like a great comment, if a knew what it ment..lol

  • haha i agree

  • love this vid so much..

  • mint!!!!!! from froggy land!!!!!!

  • Goooood SOOONGGGGGG From Italy

  • ashcroft & noel gallagher would in my opinion beat lennon/mccartney,better voices, better songs.

  • What a fantastic song!

  • One of my all-time favorite albums is Alone With Everybody.

  • I stil love you Mari !

  • Love you Richard!!!

  • You had me at the first few notes...

  • Ashcroft +Noel gallagher...that would sell tickets

  • Cast no shadow

  • shit this is a wicked version, never heard this version, Ashcroft is a total legend at odds with the world yet a poet lyrical master and voice of our age. I agree with Colleykins, the music today is awful, souless drivel sung by kids with no REAL experience of life. Look no further that this for the meaning of LEGEND

  • well fkn said, the guys a genius.. well in my eyes..

  • thats whack that the rolling stones got 100% of the $ for bittersweet symphony. something more like 20% would be fair I think.

anyways, richard ashcroft is great. but he should stop seeing himself as such a disturbed person and use his insight to become really happy and free. then his music would be amazing rather than just good.

  • Love, love, love his voice. How proud I would be to know this man. Love the fact that his wife cuts his hair. Lucky man to have such a woman!

  • Love this video; I love his music, his inspiration that he has given me dealing with my "own depression". I love his music & writing. So many want to simulate his music to the Beatles; yes there is the quality there; however he is his own creativity, how hard would it would be to be even close to his world

  • ashcroft is the don

  • The greatest voice in the world!

  • Class again..!

  • love this vid. rich looks mighty fine, keys to the world was a fkn class album..so underrated..it was a crime..!!!

  • Superbe! la classe!!!

  • Einfach nur PERFECT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think he performed this on Regis and Kelly

  • non so perchè, ma questa canzone mi fa arrapare...............

  • great song,lovely messege

  • I don't think Ashcroft needs Chris Martin to introduce him. Ashcroft is a master, and Martin's just a lucky mediocre who got commercial success because the public is too oblivious to recognize Ashcroft's music

  • love it my idol

  • great great song!

  • I really like this song!

  • a great artist

  • The guy's amazing! I love a song that you feel, and this is definitely that!

  • are the critics still giving him a hard time in England? I heard Chris Martin had to up for him or something.

  • Not sure. But Chris Martin pretty much introduced Richard as a musical genius at one of their shows. I think, and don't quote me, that Chris said Bittersweet Symphony was the most genius song ever written.

  • ashcroft did write bs, he just used a chord structure and a bongo loop that the rolling stones used so they took 100% of the royaltys,

  • He only wrote the words .... if you listen to Andrew Loog Oldham's version of "The Last Time" you'll understand. So, yes, it's a great song, but the signature riff and production wasn't Richard's I'm afraid.

  • No Richard Ashcroft didn't write bullshit. But he sure did write Bittersweet Symphony.

  • @051 Richard looks like George Harrison of the Beatles imo

  • what is the name of that inrument he is playing?

  • Clavichord

  • I though that was a harpsicord whats the diffrence?

  • I love this song !!!!!!!

  • great song... but I think he would have a bit o' trouble in prison...

  • wonderful song!

  • good song

  • Is Genius!!!!!!

  • fuck you,is beautiful!

  • top class tune freakin brilliant

  • i wolud love to see a vid with the lyrics ...

  • I can't even describe how much I love this song!

  • Amo questa canzone e tutte le canzoni di Richard!

  • me fascina! MUY buena!

  • perfect

  • Grande Riccardo Ascrofito!!!!

  • ahah!forte questa!

  • beautiful song, brother.

  • questa e song for the lovers da brividi , troppo figa

  • BELLISSIMA!!!!!

  • nothing goes right today ,

    cos nothing ever does.....

  • yeah... :( *depressive thoughts*

  • don't get any better than oasis, verve, gallaghers and ashcroft. that's rock.

  • great song...great video too...

  • i love him.

    the song is so beautiful.

  • прекрасная баллада !

  • THE BEST ASHCROFT!!

    beatiful song.

  • i lalalallala- love it

  • Love it!

  • i love this song!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is a beautiful song. Richard rocks. I love this song. Althought he left the Verve. Reminds me of 'Sunny Afternoon.'. This was released in 2006, I love it so much

    Roxxi

  • haha gots some Sunny Afternoon in it.

  • Kommatara.!!! eINAi poly.

  • WOW AMAZING:)

  • Beautiful

  • uno spettakolo della natura!!

  • I think Ashcroft and the whole Verve early albums were wrongly involved with the whole grunge outfit that was happening in the states, and again wrongly treated by the the UK press as "different" To be honest i think one of the greatest bands to come out of Britain since the Joy division days, But change is bad in Britain nowadays! Everyone too scared to put their balls on the line and say anyone is good incase it comes back to bite them on the arse! But what do i know?

  • good point well presented! ashcroft is a legend!

  • I love this song its so glory

  • adoro questa canzone *.*

  • Io che sia uno dei cantanti più bravi del mondo! E i Verve hanno segnato e segnano ancora la storia della musica alternative/rock... Richard è un grande musicista e come ho detto prima un bravissimo cantante

  • Magnifico.

  • In all of his songs I find myself at the end of it before I actually realise that once again... I haven't taken in a single thing. I've been so deeply drawn into his voice that I don't hear his words. And then I replay it.

    What a simply magic musician.

  • i know that he is the singer of verve, verve is also a fascinating band.but i think his music is influenced from oasis.this doesn't reduce his value as an artist

  • Temazo!

  • great song

  • un maestro...con o sin the verve...ojala vengan a peru...abrazo...

  • si tio eso yo tambien espero lo malo es que aqui en peru no conocen mucho a este man ni a su grupazo the verve...al menos ya encontre a alguien que si le gusta :D

  • There is something about Richard that moves me really. He touches my heart! A fine musician and a lovely man!

  • Oh my gosh. I have never heard of Richard Ashcroft and I am sincerely amazed! Wonderful music. Wow.

  • I wish I could discover him all over again =]

  • es buena cancion ksm....pero mejor aun este man es con the verve

  • you know, he's the lead singer of the verve!

has nothing in common with oasis

  • oasis was influenced by the verve....

  • Ashcroft is one of the most influential artists of the new millenium. He's right up there with Reznor and Cobain in my opinion.

  • That's not to mention that Ashcroft makes music and has an amazing voice, whereas Liam in my opinion is a rock version of manufactured pop star. Singing Noel's songs, playing tamborine (!!!) and "being the rock star" - that's about it really.

  • noel is the power behind oasis...liam will probably a left over without him...as he allready is...though i must admit some songs like supersonic wouldn't be in my means a rock anthem without liam's voice..

  • oh my god i love it so much. great

  • The whole album is amazing. Every song.

  • I can see y people cal him the einglish elvis

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • beautiful song one of my favourite

  • brilliant choone love this song, ashcroft is a legend n has inspired me so much in the past and now! keep on goin mr ashcroft the world needs u to bring some sanity bck to music lol! peace out x

  • Beautiful song ;-)

  • Richard Ashcroft is legend

  • really great

  • great song!

  • love this song so much:)

  • Fools they think I do not know, the road I'm taking.... If you meet me on the way, hesitating...That is just because I kow which way I will choose...These are the best lyrics ever!!!!

  • I just love his music... ashcroft talks about depression and sadness better than anyone, just like thom yorke

  • Better than Yorke by a moon mile I would say

  • what foook said lol

  • after she told me her secret...she was a different person yet...yet i'll go...

  • in prison...i've been there for a while...yet i'll go....

  • in a hard headed place...stubborn for my sake...

  • richard ashcroft is a legend no sorry one hell of a musician

  • the abbey road version is better

    great song though

  • "I don't wanna know your secrets, they lie heavy on my head...". this song is perfect!

  • i know what you mean...great he!!!

  • this song is one of the best iv ever heard, its a about depression when he says mom thinks you are the clown makes me feel sad, such great word dont hear it much on the radio 5 stars

  • i'm listening ashcroft for 2 weeks since now without a single pause. i thik i'm sick. :)) too bad that verve and richard ashcroft are so underestimated. he deserve the respect he should have for writing these timeless and full of emotions beautiful songs.

  • He's one hell of a musician. That's a term that's hard to use with 90% or more of the artists out there. In fact, it's almost to the point where's an insult to call them "artists". Richard is the exception to the rule anymore!

  • "Nothing's going right today, cuz nothing ever does." Most relatable line ever.

  • A lot of people can relate to this song I should say. Everything Ashcroft seems to put out really grabs you and makes you realize you're not alone. Whether its w/ The Verve or solo. Too bad people seem to know more of Oasis and not this guy. Simply not enough credit.

  • silence is a burden....take it off...richard...

  • silence is gold - when you talk to silver....

  • i found it like two days ago, i was looking through my old files and found a list of songs, this was one them
