@Prizzly92 Hey Prizzly, what did you do to get Heavy Gear 2 running? I have it installed on xp. It crashes at the end of mission 4. The patches won't install. They report the error "HG2 is not installed properly"

I love this game and dug it out of the cupboard recently.

yes but you will need a new server.dat file, thers a game called battlezone thats using the same type of network (Anet) and ther servers works with HG

I know you could run it on XP if you ran it in compatibility mode for 95 or 98/me mode, you might be able to do the same for Vista.

Whats really sad is both Mechwarrior and Heavy Gear were my 2 most played game series back in the day. Someone needs to resurrect them somehow... BTW Gundam sucks and will never be what Heavy Gear was. Modern games just don't have the game play of these classic games!

ZEKEofDOOM, Same goes here. Gundam has lots of financial backing and heavy marketing whereas HeavyGear and Mechwarrior have very little funding. Japs marketing strategy is to keep brainwashing every child to make them love Gundam craps. D only stimulus plan for our beloved Mech and Gears is to go Movie with action n violence packed. Then the PCgames will follow

@ZEKEofDOOM actually gundam came way before heavy gear or mechwarrior 1979 dude a good decade before also the guy who designed all the mechs battle tech which would serv for the basis of mechwarrior was a mechanical designer on many show and games Gundam 0083, all of the Macross Franchises, Eureka Seven, Armored Core oh and if gundam sucks so mch why is it still thriving and mechwarrior is dead even more Ironic is in Mechwarrior 5 they might be borrowing mechs form macross like the tomahawk.

@TheZeonMovement1 When looking at Gundam, there is insufficient space for solid propellant rocket motor booster and fuel when there are already actuators being fitted there. Besides, there is no room for the combustion engine to power up the gears moving the actuators. Heavy Gear and Mechwarrior have all these. Wonder why nobody rich enough to revive the Heavy Gear programme

My sister's Husband had the sequel as a demo and I remember watching the cut scene where the dude is in a canyon and gets ambushed. I was like 13 and thinking, "That dude got fucked up."
