  • Yes, I know ... and please, don´t hate me, but: Any chimp can beat him :-)

  • Pure strength no fucking around .-. guy is a straight up beast.

  • He could make many a gay man happy!

  • @PktMma Naww but I'm sure you could bro

  • @recruitTJ I'm not nearly as cute.

  • i don't like his pecs :/ but i fcking LOVE his arms (L

  • Such a waste of talent, if he didn't get into drugs he would be one of the all time greats

  • Damn... Gymnastics build great upper body... I don't know if it is just me, but all gymnasts look like they have short legs.

  • @smoothMousePad True, shorter people have an advantage in gymnastics. That's because having short limbs means having less torque. Think about swinging and static moves like that one at 0:25, they become easier. Mind you I'm not saying long legs make gymnastics impossible. Older gymnasts seemed tall

  • @smoothMousePad it's because they are short this guy for instance is almost a midget at 5'5''

  • Damn thats hot. And im a guy. Incredible!

  • In the end, when he is runing...he looks like a fu**** tank!

  • @LPphilosopher He was in the dutch military, can you imagine having THAT run at you on a battlefield?

  • @ShaolinIronLeg airforce

  • This man look like Vegeta. All he need is the long black crazy spiked hair.

  • Comment removed

  • Plus, dont forget he is a very short man.

The irony is he didnt do steroids, but did do coke. What are the odds when looking buff like that, lol.

  • I wanna do gymnastics O_O

That man is a beast lol ... I like that o_o

That exercise at 0:33 I forgot what it was called ... that takes A LOT of effort to begin doing it on your own without the fear of breaking your neck ...

That guy has got great talent really ... Thanks for uploading this

  • Únglâublich_sUcht_mÁl_ÑÂch:_geldeasy_Àüf_gôõglè

  • he should be steve rogers in captain america

  • U can clearly see that this is a natural built body.. no "Hulk syndrom" on him. perfect body!

  • Ugh... everyone bitches and whines about how genetics make up for everything (at most its around 50%), saying people cheat and what not, those are just excuses allowing you to hide behind them. If you ate the way you should and trained the way you should. In about 4 years you would be of similar standards to gelder, maybe you should try it and see where you get, attend strictly to cals and protein for years and maybe you wouldnt assume gelder is using drugs to enhance his performance

  • That guy should consider bulking up a bit, haha.

  • huegen88

What tha shit with that? everyone makes mistakes-he just tried it once for fun and what's up with this?he wasn't addict

  • his legs are a little skinny it seem sthough

  • de rest is Gewoon Heel Erg Groot, niet Echt in proportie inderdaad

  • @ryanmazdaLAX tell me .. why would a dedicated ring performer work on his legs?

  • @qopemail Think about it. Legs are a dominant muscle in the human body. When exercised correctly, squats, lunges etc.. can yield tremendous amounts of testosterone and boost performance in overall body strength. Yes there is no need to exercise legs often because of the demand on skill work, but working on the lower body can and will increase strength in the upper and all around.

  • oye me puedes decir como es tu entrenamiento por ke lo haces pareces tan facil

  • Cocaine motherf**ker

  • cocaine is what he tested positive for , and he wasnt from circus but militairy

  • holy shit

  • I want to have that kind of strength. I mean Bodybuilding is all good if you want to get bigger fast. But I think I would rather take the time and do it the slow way and gain this kind of strength.

  • hey guys, Im 22 and weight 173, i have a bit of a bell other then that i have big arms and big quads, but I want to train to look like this, and alot of people are taking steroids nowadays! everyone in every fucking sport is doing it! willl it help me get bigger calves and ripped abs? of course if i reduce eating fat food? I do some gymnastics but am more into breakkdancing. any advice guys? should I take thme?

  • @MicrosoftIndesign The size, shape and definition of your abs and calves are MAJORLY dictated my genetics, unlike other muscles where you can workout and mold them to what you want.

  • man this guy is just son fucking strong

  • huhuBin total kuschel bedürftig aber niemand da ;(

  • i heard he was found in circus

  • He couldnt have taken steroids because when it comes to gymnastics the gymnast wants to be lean. the bigger you are the harder it is to do everything and taking steroids would actually hinder his performance.

  • @tomgiac

No, steroids can actually help you recover from injuries faster and train more.

Anyway, the only way you're gonna get this type of body from bodyweight training is if you're a PURE NATURAL MESOMORPH, which only accounts for less than 10% of the population.

  • @CleverDjembe

and training since very early childhood to build up a base to your body

  • @tomgiac thats completely wrong steroids allow an athlete to recover more quickly and boost the endurance of any muscle group and even add more strength

  • yes but in gymnastics and especially the rings, these "strength" moves require not only muscular strength but an extreme amount of joint strength as well. there was some studies done on mice where they were given steroids and they found that their mass and strength increased (obviously) but more importantly, there was no effect to the joint strength at all so if you were to take steroids, your strength would increase and so would your weight. the problem with this is that your tendons and....

  • ligaments take a lot longer to strengthen than muscle because they have very little bloodflow through them so the added weight would more than likely cause injuries to the gymnast. not to mention the added weight would throw off your tumbling abilities but that would only be a temporary thing.

  • also i just remembered that Yuri is only a little more than five feet tall! being that small and training on rings (Which he has done for many years! this kind of strength takes a lot of time to get.)... it is very easy to see how he has his physique!

  • looks like a street fighter/dragon ball Z character..

  • Fuck. Dude's ripped like a freaking Z Fighter, lol.

  • hahahahah GOKU!!:D

  • he didnt use steroids he used cocaine..if hed used streoids hes be disqualified for ever but he used the normal stuff so in like 2-3 years he can be back to his position like before..

  • @upsidedownkill

just because he doesn't use steroids during competition doesn't mean he doesn't use them during season... and there are drugs to hide steroids usage aswell, BUT I doupt he uses steroids...

  • maybe he did use steroids..but nobody can prove it..if you have taken steroids a year ago there are no traces left in your blood..but i don't think he has used steroids tough..

  • @upsidedownkill

Me neither.... these olympic gymnasts have trained nonstop since they were 3 years old, But in impartial sense, he could have used steroids for years, and stop 6 months before the games.

  • anyone sayings steroids, well its not, its the power of gymnastics, training with your own bodyweight reaps huge rewards..

  • @angrygunsmith Yuri van gelder was control positiv at coke...

  • @angrygunsmith

    and training since early childhood

  • @angrygunsmith this is exactly why i hate weights

  • @benmahesh honestly if i could i would train only iwth my bodyweight but still weights do have their perks, simply use both claisthenics and wieghts together and you can get the best of both worlds, if anyone is better though id say calisthenics, but otgether they owrk the best

  • @angrygunsmith

yeah it's easy to look jacked when you're 5'3 and only 130lbs

  • @ibtarnine l think you get even more jacked if you do all these things being taller because of the fact that it is harder. Being shorter and lighter makes it easier to do these things and that's why most gymnasts are very short. You probably get bigger if you're taller. Wouldn't you think?

  • @angrygunsmith yeah and dont forget hes like 1 meter 60... taller will always look skinnier and smaller will look buffer

  • @suparpowers not 'always' but i kinda get what you mean, at the end of the day, for no definite reason, i can tell you that bodyweight training is far better than weight training, you can develop strength, endurance the lot, the body just responds to it so much better, because its natural, functional, a product of evolution perhaps. Weights shouldnt be ignored, i myself do 4 days a week of calisthenics and a day of weight training.

  • @angrygunsmith yeah i know that, but that only counts if youre a perfectly healthy person wich 99% of the people arent these days.

remember that not everyone can do things with their bodyweight like pullups, chinups, dips and some cant even do a pushup. thats why pepole use weights.

and yes not always but remember that if you take 2 people, both of them weight 150 lbs, one is 5ft tall, other one is 6ft tall, tell me wich one will look buffer/bigger/fatter?

  • @suparpowers yeh, well i thought you mean taller and shorter with proportional weights, and anyways, taller people have longer muscles (unless they are true ectomorphs) which means more room for muscle growth. And then theres variations on bodyweight exercises which can help anyone from fat fuck to gym junkie, pushups on your knees, negative chinups, chances are people think paying for a gym membership is going to make the difference, and complicated workouts are going to get them there, not so.

  • @angrygunsmith i know... but still ... try to answer my question about the 5ft and 6ft tall guys that both weight 150lbs, who will look buffer/bigger or just fatter if its fat weight?

and you do realise ectomorphs are the weakest in building muscle? mesomorphs are the best cuz they got both muscle and low fat, ectos have low fat low muscle and endomorphs both fat and both muscle

  • @suparpowers thats what i meant, taller people sometimes have longer muscles with more room to grow them, i know all the somatotypes im just about to qualify as a personal trainer too. anyways

  • @angrygunsmith sorry but that was bullshit, you still did not get the point. read my older comment.

being taller doesnt gonna make you be able to grow muscle, has nothing to do with more room for growing.

look up the words ectomorph, mesomorph and endomorph on wiki or some encyclopedia if you got one at home and you will understand everything.

  • @suparpowers ectos have short muscle lengths, an ectomorph can be 5 foot tall, it has absolutely nothing to do with height, a mesomorph is muscular and does not retain fat, endos are fat, thats that. all im saying is i have had plenty of mates who are really tall and skinny, you might say they are ectomorphs but theyve got really long muscle bellies and after just a year of hypertrophical training they are fucking huge. All im saying is mesomorphs dont neccesarily have to be bulky to begin with.

  • @angrygunsmith Citation needed.

  • You people argue about the most pointless stuff....

  • you can hate, but that's all it is is hate. lay off just cause you cant train the way your supposed to

  • he is caught using coke

  • I think this dude isn't natural. He admit he used cocaine 3 days before a contest and his muscles are so extreme defined en big so i think those are steroids. There are other gymnasts they are not like that.

  • poor, guy if you look at jay cutler or ronnie coleman, those guys are not natural. Yuri gets this body THROUGH TRAINING......repeat after me, HARD TRAINING and proper nutrition. repeat nutrition one more time n-u-t-r-i-t-i-o-n!!!!!! fuck, you guys do not know what lean protein and carbs do to you.

  • Yeah Jay and Ronny took way more and probably more and effective steroids. Look at him comparing to other topgymnasts. Thats a hell of a difference. Look at the veins, look at his body how low fat percentage he has. Look at how big his muscles are. And second of all he is a cocaine user. If he will take cocaine why wouldnt he take other drugs? I don't believe is he is natural. He don't take as much as bodybuilders will do but he did it at least once. Trust me. Look at the guy for fuck sake!

  • You know a little from your statements. look that fact of the matter is when you start a certain phase you eat more protein then carbs, then the reverse must happen. we know he did cocaine, but hey Micheal phelps did marijuana...everybody did some kind of fucking drug. I do not think you know what nutrition or how much nutrition affects to PROPER WORKOUTS. Yuri is a Mesmomorph obviously, meaning he is a different body type. dude seriously, have you heard of Vince del Monte?? study him and learn

  • Mesomorphs have a muscular build but always have layers of fat on their bodies. i think Yuri is an ectomorph. He isnt that big. He weighs about 61 kg. If he was a mesomorph he would 've been bigger. But his muscles are extremely defined and big. Thats why I think he isnt natural. Just type in youtube "Yuri van Gelder shirtless" and pause at 0:11. His muscles are so big and no fat. Look at his left biceps! VIncent del Monte I googled him. I really believe he is natural.

  • Thats a hell of a difference comparing to Yuri. Well Michael Phelps he maybe did marihuana but that's a soft drug and cocaine is a real hard drug. I do not think that nutrition and training would result in that kinda body of Yuri. If he was natural he would 've more bodyfat or his muscles were smaller without having many bodyfat. I have respect for him though because you have to train hard to achieve such goals as he did. It's a pity now coz he ruined his career now.

  • actually yeah, but you gotta admit that is a hell of a body though. oh and yesi seen yuri i have all his videos actually. I also know that he stacks up more good carbs then anything else too.

  • Yes he is really really in shape. But it also goes for Vincent del Monte man he has having a great body. So defined and cut and not too big and not too small. I would like to have something like that. A few more years and I can look like that maybe bigger. Thanx for giving him his name. He is now a bit of my example. I can now make a comparison..

  • dude im a mesomorph, jay cutler is a mesomorph ronnie coleman is a mesomorph oh and have you seen how short jay cutler is? I do not mean to argue with you but you said that mesoporphs are bit people, not very accurate statement. damn im tired of arguing but yeah, everyone has their opinions on things and good nutrition with work out does make a difference, i am 5 foot 7 inches, with 16 and a half inch arms with small waist well a little fat but whatever and im 21. i noticed a difference food

  • I just said that mesomorphs are muscular build and are big and just have a bit fat on the body. Ectomorphs are thin and are more defined than a mesomorph. Jay Cutler is short but he was still a big guy not in length but in wideness. I seen a picture when he was 15. He is a mesomorph like the most champions. They have he perfect genetics for being champions. Keep it up with the workouts..

  • lol he has just been cought using coke :)

he worked for the dutch military and is now fired.

lololololol believe me, every great atlhete uses steroids even pingpong

  • its very easy not do steroids and look like that,he is most likey not doing any.

  • thanks bro, im glad you agree. of course the key is nutrition.

  • sure thing, steroids are only a fast way with some detrimental side effects later on. not the way, just a fast way

  • How do gymnasts do these things without breaking their neck?

  • Because they don't land on their neck.

  • nice body man

  • i met him in real life once at a gymnastics competition in holland! (i'm a gymnast, and i have a foto of him with my gymnastics group)

  • Does he only do body weight type exercises of does he do weights to?

  • 160 cm and 61kg?? are you sure? i have 164 cm and 59kg and i have never so many mucles. but i´m also a gymnast and don´t have much body fat..

  • no leg muscles ;)

  • 161cm and 62 by now but he his almost no legg musles

  • stud

  • hehe, this place were he is training is abouth 1 minute form my home :P

  • who the hell calls them 'air push ups'. they're handstand dips f.f.sake!

  • At 0:20 is air push ups....

  • Correct term is Maltese - Planche pushups.

  • i call them handstand push ups but no way their air push ups lol

  • maybe maltese flys?

  • Do gymnasts supplement their training with free weights and such, or do they just do bodyweight stuff?

  • Some do total body lifts like clean and press, snatch, etc. but most of their musculature is a result of developing upper body strength through ring and parallel bar work. Keep in mind these guys train their balls off and they are genetically blessed or else they could not be an olympic caliber athlete. They have natural talent and undying drive to be better. Anyone who is saying steroids blah blah is a fat, balding fuck who has never known what it's like to train to the point of vomiting.

  • Very true mate! Why does it have to be steroids???? u silly billys! He has a body type of an extreme mesomorph, which means he is naturally suited to packing on muscle...with this comes incredible strength! SO shut up all you people accusing of steroids...envy him, (i do) but just respect his talent....and call him a lucky bastard cos hes got awesome genetics!

  • we all have a body type, frequently a cobination of the 3 original types:

Ectomorph(naturally thin hardto gain muscle and hard to gain fat even they eat all the junk food)

Mesomorph(naturally muscular easy to gain more muscles but easy to gain fat if don't keep a healthy diet)

Endomorph(naturally tends to gain fat but also easy to get strenght a muscles underneat the fat) actually i think that Yuri Van pure Mesomorph non a combo like rest of us

  • nah, he is just small) 160cm with 61kg, that's ridicilous)

  • Why would he be on roids? The extra bulk would hinder him more than help him.

And also, all you have to do is look at a bunch of male gymnasts.. they all are insanely defined and have significant hypertrophy despite being under like 150 or 140. It comes with the territory.

  • Met ons bok :D

  • damn his air push ups are just wicked !!

  • he's hardly 160cm tall, so he's not that big as some of the people think.

  • this guy isnt on steroids, he was world champion on the rings in 2005. that would be impossible if he had ever used steroids since all the champs are tested

  • Look at his muscles, dude. I dont think he is natural. He is a cocaine user. There are topgymnasts who train as long him but they dont look like that.

  • u dont get more muscles from coke and you dont get better at sport.

  • I know that. But if he takes cocaine why wouldnt he use steroids? HIs physique doesnt look natural.

  • He looks juiced. I knew a guy in the 80s who had equivalent strength on the rings, but the shape of the musculature was very different when it was genetic as opposed to roids.

  • Keep telling yourself that fatty.

  • booyeah. hahaha

  • No-one in the 80's had equivalent strength. Liar. You're whole comment is redundant.

  • a. if that's the case, why? Humans haven't changed genetically. Nor has the apparatus made the dramatic changes we've seen for instance on floor.

    b. The person I'm referring to was an NCAA gymnast.

  • I don't really think you're a liar. But I do believe you're wrong. Genetics haven't changed but knowledge has, and as a result athletes train more effectively, recover faster etc. and so overall improve more. Furthermore, I consider Van Gelder to be a case apart who is, strength-wise, unparalleled on the rings today - even more so compared to a gymnast from 20 years ago. Finally, to claim he is on roids just because his physique differs from another gymnast is very flimsy evidence.

  • I agree with all your points (or that they need to be considered). I have no facts, am just starting a discussion, FWIW.

  • YVG may be stronger than this guy who I knew (certainly he is better in inverted cross position). This guy was a mutant though. With a bit of a gut, he could still do crosses with a boy hanging onto him, because he once did a routine with 9 crosses (I don't think they all counted), but it was amazing watching him do both sides of Olympic, regular, maltese, lever-bounce crosses, etc. I think he once did a regular cross for 37 seconds (I could be confused, though.)

  • How do one "look" when juiced? I hate moronic comments like "oh just look at his traps and forarms! He's on steroids!". Sure he's rather big, but not insanely huge, and I guess he trains a lot.

  • The guy in TmMmSu6gews has similair physic, not as good but.. Do you think that russian kid is on steroids aswell?

  • Good points. I asked a friend of mine who is familiar with steroids from football and body-building to look at the video. He said that he could not see anything to prove it was steroids. Some of the distinctive features are large (low hanging) chest muscles: "bitch tits". Also acne on the back.

  • Men has more testosteron AND estrogen than women, thought in a much higher testosteron:estrogen ratio than women. What you usually supply is testosteron or things that raise testosteron production/free it from SHBG/limit conversion to estrogen.

  • If you supply more testosteron to the body some of it will be converted to estrogen by the body, but there are things to limit that from happen aswell, but also the body will notice the high levels and downregulate it's own production.

  • So I guess the reason people risk a sex change (of which risks are much larger for women since it's male sex hormone you supply) is because of more estrogen and lower body production of testosteron. I've also heard that it's way more risky to manipulate your hormon system before you are grown up (23+) so the risks are bigger if you are in your teens. In any case people who know there stuff probably risk bitch tits etc less.

  • jesus, That is inspiraton! his Physique is mental, i feel like such a weeeeeeeeeeedddd nooooooo!

  • will it sound too pansy if I call him GORGEOUS????

  • LOL, he's a PE Sargeant in the Dutch Army, wouldn't want to train under him, he'd make you sweat!

  • Now you know...

Now you know why they call him "lord of the rings"

  • handstand dips are easy,i could do 20 or more, but obviously probly not in the middle of a circuit.but the maltese press ups were awesome

  • wow, very muscular!!

  • his a midget hes not even 130lbs , I know hes good and awesome he has to be.

but thoose skills are not as hard for him as they are for a 170lb 5'9 guy , good physique though.

  • are you kidding it is hard period to do what gymnasts do

  • You're kidding, right?

The guy does an inverted AND a regular iron cross, for God sakes! Check out his other videos - it doesn't matter how tall you are when it comes to enduring muscle tension upside down.

  • yeah but it DOES matter how long your arms are....

  • "Pure-Brilliance" humanity at it's best

  • one strong mother!
