  • Oh, and a hint for those who can't seem to get the rhytm, turn the bass setting to max, that makes the beat a LOT more clear. That helped me and my partner anyways.

  • Well I'm 14, and learned to do that in 30 minutes. Dance has been my hobby for 2 months, anf the coreography id already ten times more complicated than that.

  • Dude! I never would have guessed it was this easy to pick up! Thank you so much for teaching me

  • boom tick tick, boom tick tick, boom tick tick

  • What's the name of this music which played in the end?

  • you look like youre floating!

  • Shall get practising for my Kuroshitsuji cosplay group, thanks so much for the tutorial!

  • 3 weeks till my wedding, i shall get practising immediately!

  • Anyone know what dance style rascal flatts " I wont let go" thats what we are wanting to do for our wedding

  • call me an idiot, but i thought rotating without your dance partner was pretty hard

  • @LPSuniversal i tripped over my feet when i first tried it

  • hey there, our first dance song is ' for the first time" by kenny loggins- any ideas for the dance steps?

  • So beautiful!! And you explain it well. Can you do this for a jazz waltz too? We are thinking of dancing to Oscar Peterson's the Gentle Waltz.

  • ta bonne femme a la fesse bousse to liki

  • can the waltz be applied to Anywhere by Evanescence? or should another dance be applied...

  • Best instruction on here! Now to train my actors on this...

  • very good tutorial!

  • Your instructions are correct....but how do you account for dancing OFF the beat ?

  • @zxcvbnrebus They laid the music in over the video, so the music you hear is not the music we were hearing.

  • anybody know the song they used? i really think it's pretty!

  • @kairinaminemix the song is written in the description...

  • The box step was at first hard for me to do alone, but then after a couple more tries I finally got the hang of it, a little... Your instructional video helped me a great deal! Thank you very much for teaching us how to waltz -the box step-.

  • "Today the Waltz is considered graceful, elegant, and a cindirella dance...".... until I tried to learn the basic steps! I cannot seem to feel the rythm... Any ideas about different ways to learn to dance?

  • @kevincarbonaro YES! First of all, you have to "love" it, or you won't "feel it". After that, a good teacher, that talks about "everything", not just the steps.

  • thanks for the video.

  • What is a good waltz song you could reccomend for a ball where the dancers will be about 17 years old? They will be performing this dance for a large audience, maybe something up-to-date for their age?? I'm stuck on this !!

    Thank you very much.

    Linda

  • i just learned how to waltz! thank you! :D

  • Oh, thank you SO MUCH, it seems I've finally learnt something! Great work! :))

  • She said boom tick tick and i just GOT it... why can't people just explain it like this?!

  • @KittyDreadful I'm glad it helped you! Thank you for watching. Deborah

  • Beautiful....great instructions too!

  • great....

  • Can this dance be applied on Robbie Williams "she's the one" song?

  • @missliverpoolz: Yes, it can. As the song plays repeat the BOOM tick tick beat out loud and if the beat fits the song then you can waltz to it. Of course when you're dancing you may to be quite with the count. You may also need to adjust the speed of the beat to the speed of the song. For this song it's a slow BOOM tick tick beat. Hope this helps. Sorry for the late reply, first time here. Merry Christmas.

  • @missliverpoolz: I meant for your song it's a slow BOOM tick tick.

  • Can this dance be applied on Robbie Williams "She's the one" song?

  • What dance do you recommend doing to "I Love the Way You Love Me" by John Michael Montgomery? Can a Waltz be done to this for a first dance at my wedding?

  • I thank you,

    I thank you,

    I thank you!!!

    You're a great teacher

And now I can dance the waltz.

  • waltz is soo sexy, i try it now.. not so difficult

  • Can these be danced with the Swan Lake o the Nutcracker??

  • My wedding is coming and our first song is "its your love" Faith and Tim, but I really would like to do something like a waltz. What dance is good for that song?

  • @krwcaw It's ok to do walz steps! good luck!

  • they opposed the waltz?!?!?!?! generational-centrism knows no bounds

  • it will be even romantic in the real world

  • CLICK CLICK BOOM!

  • @jaghurri Your Sweet Soul by Gary Lamb

  • my school is doing the waltz its fun when we spin

  • i always thought that the girl goes back with the left food...

  • it doesn't matter. :)

girl /man can start with the one they want - just deal strting a dance.

  • excellent!!!

  • Thank you -- this was very informational

  • i want that dress darn it!

    its gorgeous

  • Help please! Our first dance for our wedding will be 'Have I told you lately' by Van Morrison. Does any one know if you can waltz to this or of another dance that would work? Thanks.

  • "Have I told You Lately" is sung by Rod Stewart, I believe.

And no, you shouldn't do the Waltz because the song is in 4/4 time. You need a song in 3/4 time (3 notes to a measure with the quarter note getting the beat). So, when you count it, it will sound like 1-2-3, 1-2-3, etc.

For the 4/4 songs (which are much more common), you can do the Fox Trot, which is a similar ballroom style.

    Good luck at the wedding!

  • this is the level i'm at,

by learning everything i know through READING on the internet, and practicing on my own.

I'm glad I'm actually doing it right, except the counter clockwise, I didn't know it had to be counter clockwise.

  • I really enjoyed it. The video contains some useful tips on the positioning of the couple in relation to each other.

  • Can anyone please help me ? Am trying to figure out the name of the waltz being danced...

  • My wedding is coming and our first dance song is gonna be "Thank you for loving me" by Bon Jovi. Does anyone know if this dance can be applied to the song? its beautiful

  • Yes, you can dance Foxtrot to that song, but you have to make one adjustment. You have to dance all slow steps. a slow step means you take one step for every two beats of music. Normally, Foxtrot is danced (slow, slow, quick, quick) but if you dance it (slow, slow, slow, slow), it will work beautifully with your song. Nice song btw.

  • Thank your for your info. ill try to figure it out. If it's too hard ill just take private lessions for the song

  • that wedding dress in the beginning is gorgeous! I love it. I want to do a waltz for my wedding dance although.... i don't know when that is lol. Beautiful video!

  • how can i download this clip???

  • I love the rise and fall part..Just seems like they have so much money!!!!!!!!O--Dear...

  • If you mean the dancers seem like they have so much money, I can tell you right now, we do not. LOL!

  • actually it depends on ones brain n how they interpret it.. so someone might c counter clockwise, and another one can c it clock wise.

but in general ppl c it counter clockwise.

  • No. Counter Clockwise is Counter Clockwise and Clockwise is Clockwise. It doesn't depend on anyone's brain or how they see it. It's one way or the other and we are dancing Counter Clockwise.

  • u danced clock wise, not counter clock wise!!!

  • You better check again. You are incorrect. We WERE dancing counter clockwise!!!

  • the dancers are rotating themselves counter clockwise each time they move. (the boxstep itself moves in a clockwise direction around the floor)

  • No. The box is rotating Counter Clockwise AND we travel Counter Clockwise around the line of dance. Where are you getting this?

  • i have to do this 4 pe and i get messed up duing the turning!

  • I do contra and they have waltz in break times where I could only sit and see. This was a good help to keep me moving in the breaks as well and I will keep learning this dance. Thanks a lot for your video.

  • that wuz verry good teaching!

    thxx

she's really cool at dancing difirent types of dances..but she loves this one the most.

  • This is a class production. Thank you for putting it up for us to watch.

  • Thank you so much and you are very welcome.

  • thank you, very nice

  • You're very welcome.

  • The Waltz is an easy dance to learn and when you get it down enough you can mix other dances into it ie:Basic Tango and swing to give it some pep. I love the video its exact to what you will learn by taking dance lessons. Learn from the video then take lessons. Its that much easier.

  • Thank you for your nice comment.

  • Excellent visual and commentary.

  • Thank you!

  • I actually bought this DVD last year when I had to learn to dance for my wedding. I WAS DREADING HAVING TO DANCE! I actually really liked this dvd. There were very creative demonstrations that kept my interest. There are four dances she teaches on this DVD and I learned two of them and am going to go for three!! Well worth the purchase and I can't believe I'm saying that about a dance dvd.

  • very nice, thank you for posting it
