I think Jessica knows he really loved Tess and he loves Ryder. When Jessica gives him a chance to be in Ryders life I think he'll start to heal from the love he lost.
I feel bad for Ford. He's never been in Love before Langston and Tess. Both times Love was taken away from him. He never got to enjoy being in Love with either of them. Now you can't fault Langston for breaking up with Ford and Tess is an alter so Jessica had to come back eventually. His abandonment issues are clearly at play here. He doesn't want to abandon anyone he loves the way he did to James and the way he feels his mom did to him. He has to learn to let Tess go for his own sanity.

I used to like ford until that stupid show broke him and Langston up, fired Brittany and decided to do this beyond ridiculous stupid ass storyline. I wish Brody was Rider's real father.
