Half-Life Beta - Alien Grunts

Looks promising, could even be made into a good looking map or mod if put together correctly. Would be cool to see some kind of Half-Life Alien Museum you could go up to the creature and critique them. Maybe a description about what they eat, what part of Xen they live in. Power goes out when you leave the room and the vats start to break, xen aliens weren't dead just kept in deep sleep, without the generator to keep everything in check the chemicals that keep them asleep stop flowing.

Vortigaunts are allies, and they appear in HL2. So where are the Xenian Grunts, Controllers, Manta Rays, and Gargantuas? They should be allies too, since they're all Xenians, and were all slaved to the Nihilianth.

alien grunts are one of the enemies in the half-life original series, thier weapon is a biological 'hive' affixed to thier hands which spit out either tracking 'bees' or missle 'bees' missle bees being stronger because they move faster but cant follow a target like tracking bees.

i think it was the quake 1 engine but like 70% of the engine was re-written.. not entirely sure. I think Hl1 was going to be released at about the same time as quake 2 but then valve decided to remake everything...

Pretty much. That, or, someone who has a VAST amount of knowledge that only Valve would know creates a mod. But still, the beta would be nice. I heard that it was leaked in 1997, but it may just be a rumor. Regardless, I shall keep searching.

Half-Life's popularity during it's development status was enormous. The alpha/beta versions of the game did circle around out of VALVe, but they were primarily used for internet & magazine gaming previews.

I very much doubt any of the early builds exist out of VAVLe these days, because back then when HL hit the stores, people were playing the real thing instead of messing around with the early, buggy builds.

They are called brutes. They have an exoskeleton armor (the blue parts). They are the basic warriors of Xen. They are tough to kill, they can meelee and their ranged weapon is the Hornet Gun. There is a part in the game where u see 2 in tubes like those and they break out of them, when a Special Forces squad of 5 men walks in, and the Grunts kill them all with no problems. The room is full os tripmines, so shoot one and the Grunts will blow up lol. You see alot off them throughout the game.

The H&K MP5 With built-in Silencer and a M203 Grenade Launcher? it is in the Half-Life computer version. That is, WITHOUT the HD pack. With the HD pack it will be a M4 Carbine with a M203.
