Christmas is a combination of several ancient pagan solstice festival most notably the northern-European festival of Yule and the Roman festival of Dies Natalis Sol Invicti.
The newly converted ex-pagans just slapped "christ" on it and pretended it had something to do with Christianity so they wouldn't have to stop celebrating it.
I thought the video was fantastic! Reminds me a bit of when i was working in a book shop and was ordered not to say 'Merry Christmas'. Fine, I thought. For the rest of the day, it was "Have a Joyous Generic Winter Holiday!" The manager caved. And no, in no way is this a 'lousy vid'.
