@HeilEvilCupCake Yes, but this movie seems to be only based on the first issue. The actual comics weren't all about slaying people, and had a lot of emotional depth and character development after it ceased to be a one-shot parody of dark and gritty comics in general.
HAHAHA This is great, Mikey loves the 1987 turtles, while Raph loves the hardcore comic turtles.
I especailly like one of the turtles multiverse that were show in 0:57, in Part 7 where it showed the Turtles from the alternate future that Donatello visited in season 3 "Same As It Never Was", I thought they were seriously badass.
LOL! I am 23, I loved the series when I was younger and the 2003 series thanx to my young nephew. This plot was very interesting and it felt nostalgic seeing Old Shredder and company, but the best part so far is at 3:34. I haven't laughed so hard in awhile!
80's Turtles running away....bad call. Sure,I get the prime Turtles are supposed to be bad-ass, but making the 80's Turtles look like incompetent cowards? Wrong. Just plain wrong.
my sensei (who's the downstairs neighbor who called to check on me) came up for a glass of wine found me watching this yet AGAIN and grinned at me 'you addict' i laughed and said 'happily, sesnei happily and i'll never change'
i about fainted when i saw turtle prime. when they said turtle prime i was like 'oh it can't be please let it be oh please oh please' and then shrieked loud enough that my downstairs neighbor called to see i i'd hurt myself or something LOL
@jbloedorn12342000 turtle prime is the 'source' material LOL it's the comic book univese and yes, it IS in a 'movie' (i dislike that term. we don't call them 'talkies' anymore do we? LOL) the film is called Turtles forever and can be found (in sections alas) right here on youtube. actually i have the whole thing 'liked' in order on my channel. feel free to go look. (grin) (sorry it took me a few to answer. i was watching episode 3)
@majicman480 Those are the Original Comic Turtles. Back inthe day the comics were super duper hardcore. In the show they are refered to as Turtle Prime TMNT.
Ironically, I loved the 80's turtles so much that my favorite version are Archies comics. I read the first mirage comic and that was fun, but they started going way too sci fi and the way they approached it to me wasn't as fun. Personal preference and all, I love the cartoony feel from the old ones. I do wish they would come back to the TMNT movie because I love those designs as well.
@mattbrownbill dude it's not the manga style it is a comic style, dude there are comics in America that are black and white because it looks cooler, manga is black and white because they rush it and don't have the time to color it
@cartoonkingforeever did you even read what i wrote..."nice the original mirage turtles ... i so wish theyd make a full manga style ninja turtles cartoon like that old school style but with more blood".... i was saying i wish the would make a ninja turtles cartoon series with lots of blood like a japanese manga(although i probably shoulda said anime).... obviously i knew they where from the mirage comic series why do you think i said " nice the original mirage turtles "??
@cartoonkingforeever yeah i know why do you think i said "like that old school style but with more blood" ... but they never made a cartoon series like that it was all kiddie kiddie... the new one(2003) was better but still weak... i wanna see an adult version with blood and guts and foot clan limbs flying all over the place like some ninja scroll shit... seeming as most tmnt fans are adults now it only seems fair...
@cartoonkingforeever obviously... but im sure there is more demand for an adult orientated tmnt series then a kids one<<< kids dont even know who they are and little do they care they are happy with icarly, sponge bob , and other random garbage...
@mattbrownbill On tv, because of censorship AND the fact that more money is taken when targeted at kids, they will always be childish no matter how badass they try to look without eye pupils. No matter how it get redone, as long as its for tv.
@peposo7 you are wrong... censorship is relative to time slot... give them a 10:30 pm time slot like south park and they can do pretty much whatever they want.... and i disagree just look at american dad , family guy , south park , cleveland show... there is now a huge market for adult orientated cartoons unlike 20 years ago... instead of trying to get the kids interested in something there not interested in anymore they should honor the adult fanbase they still have from years ago...
@filipeflower what is it your not sure of??? the fact censorship is relative to time slot??? or the fact there is now a huge market for adult cartoons??? neither of those two statements are disputable...
First of all, stop questioning a lot in one segment (you sound like a whiny bitch when you communicate like that) Secondly, 'South Park', 'American Dad', 'Family Guy' and 'Cleveland Show' have nothing to do with 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'. Those are worlds apart. I see what point you were trying to establish, but that comparison is innappropriate. Third...time slot is not the only thing involved in censorship. And fourth...I doubt you actually know what kids are interested in .
@filipeflower and you sound like a fukcing idiot... lets try adult anime shit like ninja scroll , neon genesis, the watchmen motion comic ect,ect <<<the point adult cartoons are and have been
in huge demand is still valid it is not debateable... and at 10:30 at night you can pretty much do whatever you like...once again checkout some of the shit in south park violent , bloody and down right crude...
I never said they weren't. But what maybe you don't know is that animation (or comic books) directed at a grown audience is really nothing new, since that idea already existed in those times (my comic book teachers told me about this in a slideshow).
Oh, you meant ten O'clock at night ? Well, for future refference (just to avoid any confusion), you should type 20:30 instead (that's how real digital clocks do it). And once again, 'South Park' has nothing to do with this. Two worlds apart.
@filipeflower the idea of adult oreintated cartoons did not become popular in the western world until the mid to late 90's with the import of stuff like dbz neon genesis ect ect...."give them a 10:30 pm time slot"<<< dont you know what pm means? it means at night... and south park does have something to do with this cause it demonstrates the deepth of crudeness violences and gore you can show at 10 pm
Maybe not in public, but what about in lesser amounts? Adult comics already existed back then (I encountered some when I went to 'Feira da Ladra' here in Portugal). And besides, you don't what happened here in Europe during that time, so don't draw any conclusions just yet. I didn't notice the "pm" written there. But anyway, here in my country, we use 20:30 to identify half past ten at night. Even students' schedules use this. But it's still a world apart. Besides, I don't 4KIDS would agree .
@filipeflower i was talking about adult cartoons being in high demand from late 90's till the present... what does lesser amounts that arent in public have to do with a) high demand or b) the adult cartoon boom of the late 90's...
rights can be bought from whoever owns them and 4kids has been in bankruptcy since april this year... so if someone offered them a wod of cash for the TMNT rights they would jump at the chance...
I didn't know there was a high demand of that. Besides, I used those as an example. Animated shows directed at a mature audience is not really a revolutionary idea, if that's what you were thinking.
4KIDS bankrupt ? Never heard that one before. Maybe that'll teach a lesson to those bastards.
@filipeflower no one said it was a revolutionary idea.... all i said was adult cartoons have been in high demand since the late 90's and TMNT should take advantage and honor their adult fanbase they have had since the 80's instead reinventing itself every few years for kids who dont care...
Well, the closest thing we had to an incarnation of the original Teeange Mutant Ninja Turtles from the Mirage comics was in this 25th anniversary special (Turtles Forever). I would like to see one, but I'm getting a feeling they'll mess it up somehow. Besides, there might a possibility that little kids will wanna watch that too.
@filipeflower meh when i was a kid i watched the uncensored version of DBZ was fair bit of blood in that... not to mention all the other bloody anime i use to watch... and honestly thats a positive thing for whoever makes it.... not only will they get the adult TMNT fans there is a good chance they will get all the teenage males and a decent amount of male children over the age of 6 or 7... and really it is not the responsability of the maker to worry about kids it is theirs parents
@filipeflower 4kids is entertainment marketed to kids...obviously the rights would have to be bought from them and distrubted by a company not marketing to kids...and they are bankrupt so what do i care what they think like i said before if someone offered them a wod of cash they would jump at selling the rights... but your right about there being a chance someone could fuck it up but then maybe mirage would be interested in doing it seeming as the first turtle comics werent aimed at kids anyway
@filipeflower word they would be my first choice to do it ... but im sure there is a few hardcore fans out there who could pull of an accurate interpretation...
@mattbrownbill In the 80's the offer to produced a tv cartoon came with this price. Since the marketing audience is primarily kids(toys, coloring books, etc), they had to change it to make more profit out of it. If you want the hardcore, real TMNT, then you have to look for the original comic book.
Raph: (grouphly) "Hun." April and Casey: (serprised) "Hun?" Leo: (calm/matter of factly) "Hun." lol I love the way leo sais it yep that's hun. (the dimention stick tries to fire up but stops) Don: "but, but!" Leo:"but?" 80's leo:"but?" 80s raph and mikey:"but?" lol
the classic turtles are all like 2003 Raph. ,hotheads, crude and jump into action and don't tolerate any bullshit, actually more bad ass then the 03 Raph
The April O'Neal and Casey Jones from the 80's were different compared to their 2003 versions.
April from 80's = news reporter.
Casey from 80's = Bad Ass man who would beat up a guy for just J-walking across the road.
Casey and April from 2003 version, they are a couple and soon to be married and have kids at least that was what the Time Traveling Turles were in 2008.
Lol I would of laugh if 03 Mikey said when they saw the source turtles "So that's how we started out? CREEPY!" Lol but me I love those turtles there Kickass!
@1Yamifan They're supposed to be the original turtles from the original comic. Back then, they tried to be serious with this. Let me repeat that. They tried making Turtles trained in Ninjitsu sound realistic. Times sure have changed.
@alexandfarr Well, all it started around 1986 or so, when Playmates Toy Company showed up at Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird's house with dump truck of money, and a contract for their souls, written in the blood of orphan children.
The world ending white void seems to be rather selective in how fast it moves. A second ago it was slowly dissolving the walls of the Purple Dragon headquarters, then in the next scene its eating up whole blocks in seconds.

@mattbrownbill In the 80's the offer to produced a tv cartoon came with this price. Since the marketing audience is primarily kids(toys, coloring books, etc), they had to change it to make more profit out of it. If you want the hardcore, real TMNT, then you have to look for the original comic book.

@MrTmntninja Note he's trying to describe a guy who wanted to conquer the multiverse before he learned of other turtle teams.
Now he's an Omnicidal maniac who wants to kill the original turtles and annihilate the multiverse, himself included.
Understatement much?

The April O'Neal and Casey Jones from the 80's were different compared to their 2003 versions.
April from 80's = news reporter.
Casey from 80's = Bad Ass man who would beat up a guy for just J-walking across the road.
Casey and April from 2003 version, they are a couple and soon to be married and have kids at least that was what the Time Traveling Turles were in 2008.

1Yamifan 1 year ago
@1Yamifan They're supposed to be the original turtles from the original comic. Back then, they tried to be serious with this. Let me repeat that. They tried making Turtles trained in Ninjitsu sound realistic. Times sure have changed.

@alexandfarr they're too bad ass for children, apparently.
WaxedLegs 1 year ago
@alexandfarr Well, all it started around 1986 or so, when Playmates Toy Company showed up at Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird's house with dump truck of money, and a contract for their souls, written in the blood of orphan children.

The world ending white void seems to be rather selective in how fast it moves. A second ago it was slowly dissolving the walls of the Purple Dragon headquarters, then in the next scene its eating up whole blocks in seconds.
