Ponies brought me here. I haven't played as much Final Fantasy as I would like to. It is mostly for playstation, right? That and video games are DAMN expensive. I played Crystal Chronicles, which was ballin' at the time. I liked to paint the little guy thing.
I would love for Square to troll all the FF7 fans and announce they're remaking FF6 for the PS3 with this as the aria. I think it would be simply spectacular!
How can you tell the groom at an Italian wedding? He's the one wearing the nice bowling shirt.........I hope you can take a joke. By the way, Dynamite song.
The first time i heard this song in FFVI, was also the first time I ever tought of videogames as art. It always struck me how with so little as 8-bit music they could make a classical piece, truly a genius moment from Nobuo Uematsu :D
They just don't make em like they did. For better or for worse, the details alters and importances to certain ideas have been replaced by others.
Earthbound for exemple, is a great repository of the most varied musical style. Final Fantasy 6 could be debated as to have the strongest of songs with a four-part 16-18 minute epic finale which in itself is a resume and biography of both the villain and his acts upon the world.
Now, we possess fine physical, visual detail, but...
@Testsubject909 If we could marry it with strong musical scores, detailed exposition of both the situation, the sensation, the feel to it's music. To not only create epic pieces, but memorable tunes within itself (View Extra Credit's say on it from the Escapistmagazine for more info), and gather the best of both world. Of old school gaming and new school gaming, to ensure both the body, the spirit and the heart of a game to shine as brightly as it can.
My love, dear one Why do you go so far from me? You swore a love that should have never Have an end for us In times of sadness In times of pain I think of you, my star With infinite ardor Why must I have A bond without hope? What would you have me do now? You must tell me I thank you, dear one My love, my life To the grave sorrow, to the dark fear That disturbed my heart
This opera is much better in English; however I enjoy the sound of the Japanese version (and some other Japanese operas and non-JPop songs) even though I can't speak Japanese. There are also German operas, which have a much better sound than Italian.
Japanese is actually a rather beautiful language... Italian is almost as bad as French. Swedish doesn't lend itself to opera, but it's also a nice language. Spanish is also garbage.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Latin languages maybe, though I quite like Japanese and German, not French or Italian though. Swedish is interesting. Who says opera's a good thing anyway? Passing reference to Spears-esque bands and other cultural garbage that needs to die off would be interesting in a game or a story; but the base material is still garbage.
In theory Italian is a nice language; when spoken or sung, however, the consonant sounds are short and the vowel sounds flow around them, making it muddy.
Ok well there's one thing you should remember. This is soley your opinion. So I think you may be insulting some people without knowing it. You might think this is garbage but there will be a lot of people who think this is beautiful.
@bluefoxicy You could have been a little nicer. In order of romance, it goes French > Italian > Spanish > English > German/Deutsch ( I don't know the difference) and the rest don't matter. IF you like the stressful and harsh tones of German and dislike the beauty of Italian, then you must despise the English language.
seriously, I'm a vocal performance major and my choir director keeps telling me to stop singing with vibrato and I'm like 'are you serious? vibrato is necessary for healthy vocal production. you don't know what you're talking about'
@raigekimaru Some people sing with too much vibrato, and it sounds really strange when it sounds like one is reverberating between three notes instead of the quarter tones of one.
that's called a tremolo or vocal wobble. even so, most people are surprised at the amount of real, natural vibrato most people have when they sing with full voice.
This is my favorite version. It's so dark and mysterious to me.
