I was using a whitening shampoo, but it dried out Belle's skin so bad. so I use an oatmeal shampoo and Chris Christensen System (ice on Ice) they have a whole line of products. (conditioners) chris systems com (no spaces though)

I used to have a bichon frise named Yoshi....he was the sweetest, and most intelligent dog. he lived to be about 15 years old or so, and passed away from a severe heart murmur....i miss him terribly.

How do you keep your Bichons eye area from brown tear staining?

To answer your question, she doesn't have bad stains anyway, but sometimes she does get them.

I make sure to wipe her eyes daily with a dry tissue, feed her and water her in non plastic bowls. (stainless steel, glass or ceramic) bacteria stays in the plastic.

You could try bottled water, if you have a lot of iron or other elements in your tap water, that will add to the staining.

if all else fails there's "Angel's Glow" but it can't be given to a pup.

Great Pyrenees is a fine dog. I won't argue that. But his ignorance about the Bichon Frise is probably because he's still a baby. He probably only knows about the Great Pyrenees because his mommy bought one.
