I have had this phone for two years now and I have had no issues with it whatsoever. I have dropped it 5 times on solid concrete and it works. So stop complaining. It is a great phone.

Worst phone I've ever owned. Mine also did the grid thing. What a pain. And the lack of any kind of I'll keyboard is annoying. Plus it wouldn't let me revive or send pictures or videos, even though I pay for it.

Problems i have with this phone as of today:

-I am unable to see the screen due to the grey grids and static that appear for no reason. This can be cleared away but pressing the camera button but that fix does not even work anymore.

-I have to charge it 2 times a day even with minimal use.

-The phone makes strange noises during a call.

LISTEN TO THIS when the grid lines come up, go to the camera, most of the time it works and if it doesnt, let the phone sit for a minute untill the screen shuts off. then go back to the camera and 90% of the time itl work. happy to know someone had the same problems as me

it works perfectly fine for about 4 months then the screen starts becoming fuzzy then the screen in just not able to be seen anymore. The battery sucks also. I would charge it at night when I am sleeping and in the morning, it is full but then around 2pm, there are 2 bars left when i did not use it at all since i was in school.

I had this phone a year ago i loved it at first & i slowly started getting bored with it & hated it too but thts how i am when phones get to old but i worked fine and everything,before this phone i had the very popular razr 'at the time' same thing with that phone loved it & later on hated it now im on my 3rd phone 3 years later which is the lg env3 love it & now i hate it & very soon im updating to my firs blackberry curve 8530 and i cant wait i hope it pleases me much better :))

Idk what he's talking about, "bad reception" , I have 4 bars everywhere I go, thats probably just me I guess. Also, I dropped mine in a pool, and it works fine. And sure, it may not be the quickest phone on the market when it comes to saving pictures, but the quality is great, and really this is the perfect phone for me. The only thing they could have improved on is internal memory for music.

okay, i have had this phone for a year and a half, and there is absolutely no better way to text than with this phone (except for the new texting on the Omnia II). the flat keys are EXACTLY why i can text faster than anyone i know. people hold my phone and are like "omg, how can you stand texting with this" which were my thoughts when i first got it. But it didnt take long before the flat key pad became a huge advantage over other keypads.

i love this phone. its the best non-data plan phone.

How do you add words to the T9 dictionary for this phone? I've tried spelling the word out in ABC mode and then switching back to T9, but it doesn't work. This method used to work on my previous phone (2nd generation LG Chocolate), so I was wondering if anyone knows how to do it for the Samsung Sway?

the t9 is good except for some simple words.......if your trying to say go, im, or in, which is4 and 6, it says io. but whichever one you type the most it changes to that if you fix it like constantly. mine changed from io to im. and to fix the wallpaper so the picture is taking the whole screen, you have to go to your camera, options, then go to reseloution, and then make it a bigger number. but you cant do that to previous taken pictures.

Don't get this phone.

I got this phone, and after a few months of use, the screen went plaid. I had not dropped it, or spilled anything on it. So I got a new Sway, and not even a month later, it had got a plaid screen.

I went into the verizon store, and there was a girl there with the same phone as me, with the same problem. So I know it wasn't me, it is the phone. They told me they have lots of people complaining about this phone plaid screening.

I forgot to mention. - He has a misconception that the number of bars shown directly relate to reception between different phones and call quality can be accurately compared. It's not true. My older phone which I upgraded to Sway, shows 5 bars and the Sway shows me 3 on occasion. Other times they are about equal at 3 bars in this area. However, the old LG one drops calls more often then this one does. You'd think the old one would have the better signal, but it's untrue and means nothing.

That said, I really like mine. It's sleek, has cool features, looks modern, sounds fine has a music player, picture and video cam (unlike trance), stereo blue tooth, USB, micro sd card ability, even little games and so on. Mine has good battery life too. It's got a lot of features without going to higher priced plans. I chose it over trance because even though trance is newer, they stripped features out of trance. Again, if you want a good phone with most of the features, I'd go for Sway.

And Sway saves images in less than a fraction of a sec, so he is wrong. Why is this guy giving reviews? They are not even accurate. I shopped for a good phone that wouldn't require an extensive plan and give lots of features. If that's what you are looking for, then I'd choose Sway. Other wise, I'd pick Krave zn4. The other phones he mentioned aren't good deals, unless you are seriously into texting and don't mind spending more. Not once, but more money every single year on the plan.

And no evdo is the entire point! Most people want a phone and are not trying to bring an entire computer with them. The beauty of this is that you don't need an extended data plan and this saves you $130 a year from say Verizon, or more from others. That said, Sway is still pretty sophisticated and can still browse the net and 4-5 sec per text, it's plenty fast too, unless you are a texting/ file freak that just can't wait a few more secs and like to pour your money into a monthly payments.

The short comings he mentions aren't accurate, and phones he listed aren't better values for price. Pretty much all phones will have a some distortion when turned up above med because of over driving a very small speaker. I'd prefer the ability to turn up louder rather than have the manufacturer limit it. Because it's easier to hear in a loud environment. So it's a good feature, not bad. That said, calls sounded clear on sway for me and seemed similar to others he mentioned that I tried.

no. i just got rid of mine. the battery life does not last even a day if you're a heavy texter. and there is a little bit of delay when typing, which gets annoying if you're a fast texter. service isnt the best.

i was stuck between those two as well, but the sway looks better longer becuz trance gets a ton of fingerprints on it and the touch buttons are too sensitive. i ended up getting the sway, great choice.

Good thing you didn't get the trance. it only gives you a 1.3mega pixel camera, and doesn't allow videos. It's just like the Sway, only the Sway is better. Screw finger prints. Go for functionality. I just got the Sway too.

i have this phone about 2 months now. battery lasted pretty well with normal usuage. it can last for 4-5 days from a full charge at normal usuage. texting does not lag like some people said. i text just fine. and it does not take 6 second to take pictures like he said.

the phone is a cool looking average phone! it's possibly the best slider phone on verizon at the moment. and custom real MP3 ringtone is possible for those that wonder. good sound quality too if i may add.
