Very awesome plane, so why cant we replica other aircraft like for example the Ho-229, just saw a documentary about rcs modelers building a model replica of the plane and it looked pretty sharp, so why not full on build it, it uses the same jumo engines as this ME-262. And what about the He-162 that awkward looking jet.
You guys should read more books about the old nazis. The old nazis fought in Africa with black people. In old Germany lived many black people. They hadnt a great life but they were not treated like jews. The Nazis didnt hate everything... For example they respected the japanese, scandinavian and arabic/moslem people.
This is SOOOOOO Kool!. My Grandfather was a German Testpilot. Seeing this would have made him Speachless. I would give almost anything to be in that cockpit. I'm glad I never had to back in the day though......
Yesterday I was out at the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center and saw this plane flying around. I was wondering why it didn't sound very unique as I expected the Jumbo engines to sound rather different than a modern engine. Now I know why. All the same it's great to see an ME-262 cruising around.

That fine. He's skilled. How ever that aircraft replica is GERMAN. It represents and stands for something. That our heritage sitting there not a toy or airliner.
@sgtlabar You are correct and not correct, this is not an original German ME262, it was built here in the USA, by black and white workers, he is very skilled, however, we could not find any "white guys" capable of correcting the engine problems. I have seen your web site on Youtube, any more negative shit from you and I will block you from adding any more comments about this video.
@Dearolor I left it in there, there was one post that was removed, had to do with race, if you saw the deleted posting some of the others would make sense.
The money either comes from private sources or investment groups. This Me262 project was in part a business venture to offer five new examples to collectors, so there were likely startup costs involved. This project was started by a company called Classic Fighter Industries. The number was limited to five to keep the aircraft value attractive to investors. The original Me262 that was copied came from the US Navy and was restored for free as part of the restoration agreement.
No. These replicas are flown with the non-military version of the GE J-85 engine, called the CJ-610. They are lighter, more powerful, and more fuel efficient than the originals, but are installed in enclosures to look like original Jumos and to keep the engine nacelle weight as original. One wartime original Me262 is being restored for flight and the owner is having the original Jumo turbines remanufactured with modern aerospace materials, and hopefully it will fly one day.
@SamNeoman No, this one had engines from a Cessna Citation installed, shorter than the original ME-262 engines. The engines are located farther back, messed up the center of gravity so they added ballast in the nose. Ballast can be seen at about 1:36 in the video. Side view will show the shorter engines with tubes installed in front of them to make the inlet be where it was on the original German version.
wait i did go to his home my grandma teaches 1st grade in ione and one of her students dad owns an air strip.she told him i liked plane so he invited us to com out

@sniperjdp I'm surprised you didn't delete the "heritage" comment. Looks like a shark with wings, such beautiful lines this aircraft.

@sgtlabar He is the guy that was fine tuning the 2 Citation engines, he is an expert on those engines and has them running perfect now.

I always wonder where the money comes from to build these beautiful aircraft. Must be a few shillings worth?
