@markbethebest, they were used for both,although we done alot of foot patrols,cos if your a dismount its wank being stuck in the back,cos you miss all the action,but they are good kit.

i might join the army after 6th form, but i don't know weather to join as an officer or a soldier :S

@Louisthefish23 Well depends if you're more academic than practical to be honest? On one side you have technicians for example in the officer sector, but then infantry soldier out of soldiers. personally Infantry soldier best suits me, and should hopefully be training for 2pwrr in about 4/5 months if i get through adsc :)

It's my mate on the gpmg. He told me things started getting hectic as first the gpmg jammed and then the mini gun! He als told me he likes to use up the ammo as it's heavy to carry back lol

i just met some guys from the pwrr in my cadet detachment in Tunbridge wells. and they let us play around with the gpmg and there SA80's and all the guns they showed us have been used in afghanistan

hiya m8 i am joining infantry and want to join pwrr but there is a year waiting list in your opinion would it be a good idea joining royal regiment of scotland or the Yorkshire regiment as i want to be out there?reply would be muched appreciated

depends on your situation,if you don't mind where your gonna be based then any infantry regiment will do cos nowdays everyone gets to go to afghan,but if you can wait,then the tigers are a fuckin good regiment with some decent blokes,both 1 and 2.
