I have a split system heat pump for outside, none of these videos shows how to hook up the wiring which renders the tutorial useless if the installation is not correct first start with the installation then the progams.
@triniann2757 The wiring at the subbase of the TH8000 is standard as far as the W/O/B terminal goes. The installer set-up menu has to be accessed in order to program the thermostat for system type, whether it be a gas-fired heating system or a heat pump/electric unit.
Your video was great for this honeywell 8000 but wish somone would give a close up installation technique on how the therm wires are hooked up when you have a heat pump as to just the conventional operation. Thank you!
@100assurety The wiring for gas and electric is the same. The system set-up is done internally (within the thermostat's installer menu). When in that menu, I also enable the thermostat to automatically change between heat and cool modes. Very versatile thermostat with lots of great options.
Does anyone know about "Following Schedule Recovery" this seems to override my schedule. Thanks.

i bought a 8500 model.it is very simple to install it.the only thing i am disappointed with the unit is the temperature reading in fahrenheit only.
