@Petrom714 Thanks. It's mostly A minor pentatonic, then some A maj pentatonic in the chorus. Probably took a month or more of everyday practice to get, then another month to really have it..The solos on that album are pretty straightforward.
@shaneguitartennis Once I thought it was Clapton, WAY back in high school, then realized later it's Duane. But then the live versions came out without Duane. Clapton plays the same musical line live, same patterns, almost note for note. He never mimics other players' solos but plays his own. Thus the holy wars began of people who want it to be Duane, people who want it to be Eric :)
do you learn this from tab or listening to the song a hundred zillion times?
do you think we could get the camera angle a little more head on to the fretboard? its hard to see anything other than your first finger on some of the licks...
Thanks. No tabs, just listening a lot through ear buds and slowing it down. I recorded this tune so many times, I couldn't stand one more. I have some straight on angle versions, but the audio is even worse than this version :)
dude, you nailed it , wow, how long you take to figure out something like that?
the lighitng glare off the fretboard makes it so hard to see where you're fingering though---for a hacker are you mostly at V, then ...? pentatonics?

the only reason no one can and or will ever cover this song and the solos note for not is due to the fact the band was all high at the time.
good effort tho

what's the 2nd solo? over A/D, is it some major or mixolydyan stuff?
josipml5 2 years ago
@josipml5 Yup. Amaj played over Amaj7 and Dmaj7 chords, hanging around the 7ths (G# and C#). I think :)
