We can't keep making films unless we can afford to pay for them...

you guys should be very proud of what youve acheived with this little animation, its gorgeous, i have seen it so many times, absolutely outstanding, the emotions it makes you feel is incredible, the storm with the octopus is especially touching. You very rarely see something that alters emotion to such an extent, im a 32 year old guy and this makes me cry every time i see it !!!

wonderful film, there is nothing so painfully beautiful as the innocence of children and this encaptulates this perfectly, a simple friendship unsullied by difference, I loved it and the soundtrack carries the film exceptionally well

The music in the final scene where the boy's hand and the penguin's flipper reach for each other is sublime. It's reminiscent of Sigur Ros, and never fails to bring a lump to my throat, The animation, narration, soundtrack and story are, in my opinion, perfect. There is a lot of soul in this film. Thank you.

I saw this at the NWFF Children's Fest in Seattle as part of the Tally Ho Films that Fly High series (with Stoneflies and other awesome works)... this made my eyes well up with tears several times and they finally dripped down at the end... so amazingly gorgeous.

This is the most amazing, heart warming, touching thing I've ever seen. Just by chance I caught the last 10 mins of it on Christmas Eve in Germany (called Pinguin Gefunden). ONLY saw the last 10 mins, PLUS the sound was muted, and I still cried...a lot. ( I'm a 32 yr old male who never cries btw). Did some research and got the dvd from amazon. Watched it 5 times now, cried hard five times now. Studio AKA, PLEASE put out a region 1 dvd! Everyone needs to have their heart warmed from time to time.

@pharmacist11 I've just found the soundtrack - it's an album by Max Richter called Infra. You can buy / download from amazon. It's so beautiful.

@supermrswilliams - Glad you are discovering Max, who is just brilliant. As it happens 'INFRA' is an entirely different work by Max and not connected to LAF, but you should check out his other albums including 'BLUE NOTEBOOKS' which features a track called 'Horizon Variation's (which is one that inspired us to ask him to score the film). Max also composed the soundtrack to WALTZ WITH BASHIR.

When I was a child, it seemed as though there was so much more magic in films... Ones like 'The Snowman' and 'E.T.' and over the years it seems that good storytelling with heart and passion have been replaced with over the top special effects.

To me, this little animation from a small company with a small budget rivals anything that Hollywood has to offer lately. This has set the standard for childrens animations.

This is truly one of the best animation for children. My son is 3 now and can watch that all over again. In UK Lost and Found is shown on NICK JUNIOR so I suppose those countries that have Nick Junior should also show it.

Just watched the dvd. It's absolutley stunning! I was welling up! I love the book to bits but this animation is incredible. It truly does the book justice.

I just bought the DVD on Amazon UK. DVD was about $5, shipping was $5. Region 2 so you'll need a region-free DVD player. 24 minute movie plus another half hour about the making of the movie. Our son loves the movie. It has a slightly scary part in the middle but it passes quickly and it's such a touching story overall. A must watch if not a must buy.

I just saw the full flim on tv.. It is a perfectly creative movie. I was watching it expecting the usual things that happen in similar films (over dramatisation) but they never happened... it is a properly nicely creative film.

Stunningly beautiful and truly emotional film.

Watched it with my four year old daughter and it had us both in tears. The level of emotion achieved with so few features is a testament to the skills of both the animators and composer.

Even if you haven't got kids this is so worth watching. I think Nick Jr are showing it a lot over Christmas.

This is one of the most amazing films I've seen. I'm 35 and so enjoyed it - I was in tears! The characters are so cute.

The animation is amazing and rightly winning awards. It's such a shame I missed the repeat on Nick Jr the other day - I' have loved to watch it again.

I stumbled across this by accident a few weeks ago on Channel 4, and it was the most blissfully perfect 25 minutes of tele I have ever seen. It's so heartwarming, I got a bit dewy eyed at the end.
