great job man, i saw a guy roll his in there when i was in moab this spring, its a lot steeper than it looks, didnt help that the puddle at the bottom was deep, but i give credit where credits do, good job.
Automatic transmission is good but wont last like a NP-235 or a Borg warner T-18. If your worried about a clutch, buy a paddle clutch Or if your just lazy like me..automatic is the way to go.
@1MudDobber2 whats a paddle clutch. and i thought this was an RC rock crawl video {we dont have big rocks like this where i live} and can i say, holy shite man! It takes some big nuts to do this. lol i was scared for the guy!! {and the three nubs at the top!} Rock on! {no pun intended}
more like 30 clutches to burn... and 2 more fluid lines to break/blow.. plus having to worry about fluid temps even more so.... auto is sweet ...i guess........

Is that the best use of your time ? Is that a respectful way to go on in one the USA's most beautiful places. Videos like this live up to the worst stereotypes of US citizens as fat, useless, lazy, gas guzzling, environment ruining morons.
Its a LEGAL TRAIL you ignorant jackass. Nothing is being ruined except your sense of what's 'right'. I bet I've spend hundreds of hours being involved with service projects on PUBLIC LAND helping fix the environment, picking up trash, restoring closed areas, planting trees, etc. I've probably spent more time working on the "USA's most beautiful places" than you've bothered to just *think* about them.
And yes, it is the best use of my time. I make a small living doing it and there is nothing lazy about what me & my friends do. It takes a lot of dedication, time, patience & hard work.
Please do me and all other American's a favor, stick to watching videos from your own dreary, depressing country. Then mabey you won't get your pantys in a knot. Dumbass.
Don't get offended, but you're really NOT making the best use of your engineering regardless of making money and feeding your family. If you can build that truck, you could build anything. If that many people can organize, they could do anything.
I'm not offended, I never said building 4x4's was my full-time job. My real job is in the Engineering Dept for the Union Pacific RR and we do some amazing stuff, if I can say so myself. Building vehicles is what I do for a hobby to take my mind of the 'real' job, the fact that it makes a little bit of money with my hobby helps justify it. ;)
Leaving a little black on ages old sandstone shouldn't offend anyone. The Red Rock 4-wheelers(hosts of the easter Jeep Safari) go to great pains to make sure that public lands are used with respect during the event. Oh yeah, I did say public lands. Many of these areas would never be seen if it weren't for capable 4x4's.

is it automatic or manual transmission? which one do you think its better?
kikochas 2 years ago
That rig had an auto, if you're doing this kind of stuff IMO an auto can't be beat.
RockyMountainExtreme 2 years ago
THanks man!! I really think that an auto is really better than a manual and more confortable and there is no clutch to burn ;) thank you!

Then this makes perfect sense, all that other engineering for the RR is intense and this has gotta feel like more fun.

I really like it, the design is as good as what it is able to do, ugly is beautiful when it is pulling you out of a tricky situation effortlessly.
