The point of Christ dying on the cross was that we are sinners. No one is perfect, so someone had to pay the price for our sins. God is a just God so someone had to be sacrificed. The point of Christ dying on the cross was that we are sinners. No one is perfect, so someone had to pay the price for our sins. God is a just God so someone had to be sacrificed. So God sacrificed himself and suffered a horrible death for you and me. You can sit there and call God all kind of names but quite frankly your hate for God alone testifies for his existence. REGARDLESS of what the girl will accept? The act of sacrifice was VERY noble of Jesus but very monstrous of God! We are told to be more like Jesus yet we are also told to accept him instead of taking responsibility for our sins. Furthermore the BIBLE says we came from dirt. When you take communion as a remembrance (I Corinthians 11:23-27), you are remembering how Christ is the bread of life (as the spiritual food, the Word of God) and how the shed blood made an atonement (Hebrews 9:22) to pay the price tag of our sin, which is death(Romans 6:23).

Maybe god is just Nature, or Cosmos, or Reality. Why does god need to be a big daddy up in the sky?
Carl Sagan said, "We are star stuff." and "a way for the cosmos to know itself."
In fact, all the atoms on earth and in our bodies came from supernova that blew up over 5 billion years ago.
Really, aren't we all just walking, talking stardust -- this cosmos become AWAKE and looking it back at itself? -- and aren't we intimately connected to it all?

I do read the bible, the entire bible with an objective eye, it is because of that that I came to know God. And I don't go for the "feel good" theology either. And yes, some parts did seem pretty far fetched to me taken in itself. But put together with the whole, it shows God's mercy. and no, i cannot live up to God's expectations. No one can. That's the beauty of it. its y we needed Christ to save us from our own sin. God did not have to do it. He wanted to, its only because of his grace.

There is only 1 law I believe now and that is "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Dude, you haven't seen anything. You weren't there when Jesus rose from the dead (if he did). You didn't see him die on a cross. You didn't see tongues of fires set on those people's heads on the day of pentacost. You didn't see the "Holy Spirit" made two people drop dead when they lied to Peter. You didn't see any of this. I hate to burst your bubble with a little logic, but it is more likely that the tooth fairy exists than for a resurrection to occur.

Don't forget that he sends people to hell to satisfy his own holy justice. These Christians expect me to believe that God loves me when his own glory is more important to him than my happiness--god can simply appear to me at any given time but simply refuses to do so--therefore, I am inclined to either believe in an evil god or no god--it is probably likely that no god exists. The god of the bible is not real--simple as that.
