Very inspiring! Thank you! I am doing a project on WWII Vets. If you know someone who I can interview, please let me know. My e-mail: swimtori82@yahoo.com I can do phone interviews w/ them or in person interviews. I am trying to get as many interviews as possible. Thank you!
I got drafted in WW2. Hated every second of it. War is a horrible thing. Rich get richer, and we all get less free. Enjoy going thru the naked body scanners while people are babbling about Freedom.
Just completed my assignment as a Guardian on the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities. This is the most amazing thing I have ever been a part of. If you know a Veteran who has not gone, please convince them to go. Many are too humble and like to say they will wait so someone more deserving can go. They are all deserving! Please help them get signed up to make this trip.
I am a graduate student who is putting together a compilation of stories from Veterans who were part of WWII. I am looking to interview anyone who has a story. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with our highly regarded Vets. Interviewing them would be such an honor. I believe that personal stories are such an important part of history. If you know someone who I can interview, you can contact me at : swimtori82@yahoo.com (email) I can do over the phone or in person interviews.
God bless them all. it seems few appreciate the sacrifices made by all these americans why cant this kind of thing be more prevalent in our society. MILITARY MAKES BETTER PEOPLE .
Every one of these WWII Veterans is why America is free! I helped load Veterans of the Wyoming honor flight yesterday in Cheyenne, it was an honor. Thank you all for your service!
i whent on the quad cities in iowa honor fligh on the 23 of this month it was an experiance that i will never forget, i was my granfathers guardian for the flight, my grandfather served in the 28th infantry division the pensilvania national guard, he was in the invasion of france and he also stormed the beaches of normandy
I worked a recent honor flight (I am a flight attendant) I also went to the memorial with the veterans. It is a day I will never forget. I cried with them all day long, it was so moving.
I had enough of the "Russia won ww2 alone" bullshit. You seem to forget America sent millions of dollars worth of equipment to the Red Army. Soviet soldiers used to say in the field drinking vodka - To Stalin,to motherland, and to Studebaker - an American supplied truck! They showed respect.
You,Go to Normandy and stand in front of all those white crosses and speak your BS
I have no idea who you are Mr. Duff but where I come from there is only ONE meaning to the Greatest Generation! Those were the same ones who survived the Great Depression and WWII as well as rebuilt America to make her the greatest economic power ever seen.
So try to tell me what the 'other meaning' is and I will still feel the same way over some snot nosed brat re-writing history.
Please make fun of my generation 'the me' because they are mostly selfish as we see today -- but not this one!

Dear divermike,
Please know that "so-called" has two different meanings, which are somewhat contradictory.
I, of course, meant the original definition, which means "often or commonly called."
Say what you will about TIME, but I won't stand being accused of disrespecting these men and women.
Sincerely ,
Craig Duff

Really, you can't spell "belly"?
Useless, inadequate, waste.
