  • is cannondale mtb any good?

  • @renovatiioo You bet they are. In fact, BIKESKILLS instructor, Mark Weir, is now riding for them. Great company, great bikes!

  • @bikeskills thanks for the answer! i am new to all this, just bought one cannondale, i wanna learn some :). btw nice video advice, gonna try it xD

  • haha yes first thing i thought of was steve o lol

  • Woah, do you think i could do dirt jumps with an XC bike? cuz i'm currently schooling and dun have enough money to buy a dirt jump bike...

  • Great video im training real hard. my bike sucks but I got it:)

  • Sweet thank you.. this seems like a good start for me.

  • you forgot the number one protection..your condom

  • thumbs up if you ride a huffy!

  • should you squeeze your legs in while in the air?

  • I think it was a Giro... Could be an older 661 though. Lots of good choices these days and you don't need to spend a lot of money either. I've lost teeth in the past that I wouldn't have had I been wearing a full-face...

  • what brand is the helmet ?

  • the full face helmet is worker ?

  • @gigelisu Wearing a full-face is not a bad idea when you're learning something new, or going big. We see more and more downhillers, jumpers in both ski and biking wearing them... especially when the potential for facial injury is high. We figured we'd toss in some footage with both types of helmets...

  • does speed help you jump the front better?

  • @ezikiel666 Speed is relative to what you're trying to jump. And that's one of the reasons that starting with table tops is so important: if you're not going fast enough, you won't slam in to a lip, like you would on a double. But to fast, and you can over shoot both the table portion of the jump, and the landing portion and land flat, a much more brutal landing.

  • what do u think about the "Eastern Thunderbird?"

  • what would you say to the scott YZ2=) i have bought it.sorry for my english,i am from geermany

  • What would you say about the bike, Kona Stinky 2010? im thinking of getting it. and i like downhill freeride and any tips you got for me for when i start riding? wirte back if you can

  • @1234NickLa The Stinky is a great bike. You can't go wrong with Kona products and the Stinky is one bike you can do a lot with. The best tip we can give you for DH/FR is to rember they are skill-based, not fitness based: take clinics or at least both watch and ask the best people about various obstacles, lines, etc. And as Brian Lopes says "dress for the crash, not tothe ride..."

  • @bikeskills Thanks alot ALOT :D i appresiate you replying, and thats an amazing expresion "dress for the crash not to the ride" amazing :) thanks i can't wait now. thanks again

  • @1234NickLa Dont buy Kona, thats the first tip.

  • im looking to get more into jumping. are there any disadvantages to using my new Stumpy fsr with the rear shock very stiff

  • we need more videos :)

  • Now I want to go jumping

  • Great learned a lot.

  • great learned alot

  • Hi this is Steve-o and im gonna be doing some extreme mountain biking!

  • Do you have spd pedals when you jump?

  • The guy sounds like Steve-o...Yeah Dude!!

  • hey man kick butt...! what kind of bike?

  • first...nice jackel....second, im no noob to dh biking, i recently got a new frame the scott gambler, and my brother was looking at this vid, and i had a small problem, my back is pulling down more than i want. is that just the wait of the frame rear shock and i have to get use to it, or is there something im doing wrong...these r like 7 ft gaps btw

  • there needs to be more videos on jumping and dropouts, especially for dummies.

He reminds me of Steve O.

  • I like very much :D

tell me waht you think about my video ;)

  • Maybe he is Steve-O =)

  • Free style rocks!!

  • He reminds of Steve-O

  • @samdajellybeenie14 Steve-O is the best of Jackass

  • @samdajellybeenie14 Steve-O is the best of J4ck4ss

  • great. thanks

  • i have a trek 820 for now but im getting a rocky mountain rm7 next month =D.

  • If that's true... nice for you !!!

  • when you look at the lip and landing what do you look for??

  • you just observe it so you know how its going to kick you, like if the landing is steep oviously your going to have to make sure you come down at a sharper angle

  • the protection and armor he is wearing is the brand 661

  • What brand/model of knee/shin & elbow/forearm guard did he use?

  • Pretty certain those would have been Lizard Skins, not sure of the models..

  • From your experience, can you recommend a brand/model of knee/shin and elbow/forearm armor?

I'm a newbie XC rider. However there are lots of optional technical man made obstacles on the course that I would like to try.

There's even a section with dirt jumping that I would like to tackle one day.

If you can, would you recommend armor that's as non-intrusive as possible?

Obviously, I don't need bulky downhill gear...

  • The main things in selecting pads and body armor are: get what you need. If you are riding gnarly DH conditions, that means full body gear including spine protection and a full face helmet. For the XC ride with some technical areas, a set of elbow pads and knee shin guards could be adequate. Next up is fit. Some people will find that one brand's pads fit securely, don't bind, don't slip while that won't be the case for another person.

  • @ddac123 661

  • @ddac123 he is probably using 661 patriot knee guards and 661 DJ elbow guards

  • i need a new bike, willing to spend around 1200$ got any ideas, and trail+jump is what i do..kinda like the shit in this vid

  • the p2 is nice but there is also the giant brass stp but its all your choice something that feels good i am buying the transition trail-or-park its a dj street buk but its light and really easy to use so

  • umm..... if ur like a medium person for trailling+ dirt jumping id go with the 2009 Norco katmandu it is around 600$ and if u got stuff done to it it would be siick i got 1 now and i really like it lol i use it for trailing + dirt jumping ill send u a vid that has me hitting a few jumps in it if u wan't

  • Dont buy a new bike, look on craigslist, if you live in a popular mountain biking area you probably can find a two or three thousand dollar bike for about a grand. As far as a rig choice, go for a freeride bike with a steeper head angle, this will give you more control on slower trails and give you good jumping ability. I would recommend keeping your eye out for any Freeride bike from a good company such as Ellsworth, Evil, Banshee,Scott,Marin,or specialized

  • Transiiton Bottlerocket FTW

  • yeah, dude he looks just like steve-o

  • he looks a bit like steve-o

  • I have an 06 sasquatch and its the best!

  • get a norco sasquatch 09, but eh thats 1500, get a norco wolverine.

  • im thinkin about getting a diamondback response sport 09 i do jumps and medium trails is this a good bike for me?

  • naa that bike is poo, get summin like a kona shred to start of with, then work up from there

  • so ein schrott

ich verstehe kein englisch aber hört sich ganz informativ an

    :-)

  • Hi, im looking for a bike that i can jump on but also i can use for going on long distance off road bike rides (bumpy) but im not sure what bike to get. My budget is around £500. Anyone have any suggestions?????

  • jamis komodo. its real solid and cheap. point it were you want to go and it takes you there...I would replace the front shocks if you wanna do big jumps.

  • a dirt jumper for sure if your pretty good try a kona shred great bike.

  • you should get a Norco VPS Drop

  • Kona Shred awsome bike ;)

  • that guy sounds just like steve-o!

  • yeah totally

  • nice video!!!

  • What bike is that? Looks like a Specialized Stumpjumper or Enduro....

  • It is a Santa Cruz Jackal

  • how much would that cost?

  • i lent back getting ready to absorb impact but i cased it and my (wet) feet slipped off my (wet)pedals... yep my balls still hurt lol

  • to pull your back wheel up you can puch the bars down or push your pedals down so that your toes face the ground

  • i can do table tops just fine but sometimes i accidently land to muce on my front wheel

  • This guy sounds like steve-o

  • i was thinking the same thing

  • i was too!

  • and unless your doing tabletops, youll wanna land on both wheels.

  • I pretty much figured that out by myself

    but thanks anyway

  • How do I pull the back wheel up? is it just pushing the bar forward?

  • yes. it moves the whole bike... so if the front wheel comes down, the back wheel will come up.

  • u kinda squat and pus forward
