The Tempests were a surf rock band popular in the late 1950s and early 1960s, known for their contrast to softer music of the time. In their final years together as a band, they changed their name to Casper and The Ghosts.
He left California to move to Rochester?!?! Whatta dolt! The only time I'd go to Rochester would be to get directions on how to get away from Rochester. By the way, I've spent a month in Rochester one night and contrary to popular belief they do not go around and around.
Being originally from Rochester, I can appreciate this song Unfortunately, much of the Rochester I knew is gone. The first 2 houses I lived in, the elementary school, the junior high school, etc. The old church is there but it is closed. I don't think I'll ever go back.
My son's Grandfather is Ken Stewart from the Tempests who passed away a few years ago. Thanks for posting this great memory for him to remember him by!
