  • or better still the actual book that was writtng by the one who created all things the bible it is all in there for all to read. And there are many testimonies of people that went to Hell and came back in our time, for the end is near....

  • Pretty good depiction. If you guys like this, you should check out the Book of Mormon. It talks about how Christ went and visited people on other parts of the world after He rose from the tomb.

  • This is a Powerful part in the movie for me. To see Christ Praying to the Father In a time of distress, brings me to tears. Jesus is outstandinG!!!!!!

  • just thinking about how tempting it would have been for Jesus just to grab satan then and there and strangle him!

  • can someone explain to me hat happened in the second clip

  • @poopyguy1694 There was a Passover custom in which the governor would give a choice to the crowd of which convict to set free. Barabbas was a criminal sentenced to die by crucifixion, and the crowd had a choice to either release him or Jesus Christ. Their hatred for Christ was so intense that they chose to release Barabbas so that Jesus' crucifixion would be carried out. (I really don't know why this was uploaded without subtitles. Don't know too many people who speak Aramaic.)

  • Translation for Allah is "The merciful one" and Hashem "The Name" in Hebrew: It is common Jewish practice to restrict the use of the word Adonai to prayer only. In conversation, many Jewish people, even when not speaking Hebrew, will call God "Hashem, which is Hebrew for "the Name" (this appears in Leviticus 24:11).

( it is not a given name, but more of a discreption,

  • I don't understand why many ppl are amazed about the way satan is portrayed in this movie. Remember Lucifer was one of (if not the highest) Angel (Arc Angel) in heven. He was the first light bringer (also called "The Morning Star), But angels are also NOT man or Women, and they are supposed to be very beutiful (acording to some books : the bible (New Testement) or the Tora ( Five Books of Moses / Old Testement) dosen't go into too much detail about them.

  • The actress playing Satan had her voice dubbed right? Oooooooo gives me the wellies!!!! Such a touching film x

  • @88Katiem Satan was played by an italian actress and model Rosalinda Celentano(born July 15th 1968 in Rome). She worked with Heath Ledger in 2003.Her last film was "Il nostro messia"- an italian movie, in 2008.Her voice wasn`t dubbed in this movie, her voice is just like that.Greetings!!!!

  • @88Katiem And...she is gay!All Italy knows and she has no problem to say it!

  • It was clever to make Satan rather beautiful in his own way in this movie. After all, sin must appear to be beautiful or seductive because if it didn’t then humans wouldn’t be enticed by it.

People who say they aren’t attracted to evil are liars. That’s why it’s called “temptation” because we are drawn to do something we know is wrong.

  • People can go on to try and disprove God for eternity but all their efforts do not change the fact that He exists.

    Deal with it.

  • Besides the cruxifiction another aspects that are falsely portrayed in Christ movies. Never in the bible does it say, the devil tempted Christ when praying in the garden of Getsame and changed in a snake. It just says He prayed 3 times and came back to his disciples who where sleeping. It is sad the bible is so often misintrepreted by man to give a wrong image to (non) believers or skeptics. It is harming to God and real believers. A movie like Jesus Of Nazareth is still the best in realism.

  • The devil appears as an angel of light, a wolf in sheeps clothing, afterall he was created more beautiful than all the others. And he did not know Jesus was dying for the sins of the world. He thought he won.

  • at least its not a movie with Tom Cruise playing a Nazi General with a New Jersey accent. Or Russel Crowe playing a Roman Gladiator with a stupid english accent. Mel Gibson brings realism to the big screen in this movie and in Apocolypto he is one of the best directors of our time...madahad9 you suck

  • Is it just me but doesn't the devil look like Madonna. When I saw this piece of junk in theater I thought it was her. Finally, I thought, she found a role suited to her talents.

  • @madahad9 go and buy you some brain:)

  • @madahad9 How can u say that this movie is a piece of junk, did u fail to recognize that this being who is soo FULL of LOVE for people like u and me died for us, That's just. . . .hurtful man. . .

  • Man aramaic is so close to arabic.

  • He was so horrified. He must love us beyond my understanding.

  • The guy who played Satan was flawless....the scene with the baby was really intense.

  • @coolst0rybro It's actually a woman. I forget her name, but you can look her up on IMDb.

  • @SamhainTheDark

oh snap your right her name was Rosalinda Celentano

  • what I loved so much about the opening scene, is how frightened Christ was at what he knew was coming (death). It just made him so much more human, so much easier to love.

  • When I saw the film for the first time and Satan appears on screen, a massive chill went down my spine. I'm not easily scared and have seen a lot of horror movies.

This is hands down, one of the scariest scenes of all time.

  • I wonder what Ra would do?

  • He conquered evil face to face in his weakest moments two times. In the garden en on the cross. And all for us. He knew he was going to die but did it as a sacrifice. Not many of us can do that, actually none. This scene is a reminder in normal life we have to do the same. Once evil confronts us, makes us doubt, tries to scare us (in our nightmares), makes us think negative, we have to deny it and chase it with the power of the Lord. Evil can attack but never conquer!

  • ***My sincere apolgies*** for that comment. My aunt Gyegye did not write it, I did. I did realize that she was logged in under her account at the time I wrote it. Again sincere apologies. My aunt is a practicing Catholic woman and deeply religious. I am neither Christian or Catholic for the matter and my comment was meant to stir the pot a bit though, I do regret my actions now.

    Sincerely, Matthew

  • Ok...no offense to anyone..but Satan is portrayed really REALLY awesomely in this moive! Very badass! Even tho, Satan is being played by an italian chick, its still one of the coolest characters I've ever seen.

  • I saw this movie when i was six, and i cried even though i didnt understand what was going, on but now I do.Still makes me cry.

  • perfect devil imitation !

  • I'm 12 and even though I'm an Atheist I still love this movie. And I cried.

I first watched it when I was six (I WANTED to, I wasn't FORCED) .

I didn't understand it, but now that I've studied Christianity more deeply, I understand it better. The Satan scenes are my favorites, along with the scene of Judas' torment. Satan's voice is fucking epic! I just love it when he/she says "No, never." I really like how they portrayed Satan as an androgynous figure instead of a masculine man.

  • It seems as fate would in its secret doom out of the blood of Jehovah breeds revengement and a scourge for him; to punish his mistreadings. Could else such inordinate and low desires, such poor, such bare, such lewd, such mean attempts, such barren pleasures, rude society, as his son Jesus is matched withal and grafted to, accompany the greatness of his blood and hold their level with his princely heart?

  • Skipping Jesus, he ambled up and down with shallow jesters and rash bavin wits, soon kindled and soon burnt; carded his state, mingled his royalty with capering fools, had his great name profaned with their scorns and gave his countenance, against his name, to laugh at gibing boys and stand the push of every beardless vain comparative, grew a companion to the common streets, enfeoffed himself to popularity; that, being daily swallowed by men's eyes, they surfeited with honey and began ...

  • ... with his presence glutted, gorged and full.

While Satan, this gallant hotspur, this all-praised knight, that this same child of honour and renown hath more worthy interest to the state than Jesus the shadow of succession; for of no right, nor colour like to right, he doth fill fields with harness in the realm, turns head against the lion's armed jaws, and, being no more in debt to years than Jesus, leads the hosts of rebel angels on to bloody battles and to bruising arms!

  • they made satan look like a sith lord only for marketing reasons..

  • This is exactly the image I have in my mind of what Satan really looks like. Terrifying, for sure, but no match for Christ.

  • lord if you could do this for me, i can do anything for you. all i have is yours!

  • The fact they used that woman as Satan I believe was to deliberately make Satan look asexual.

  • agreed, many says the angels are asexual, even the fallen angels (demons)

  • The fact they used that woman as Satan I believe was to deliberately make Satan look asexual.

  • Satan's kind of cute.

  • @SKAtarina420 It's a women haha...I thought it was a man too...

  • I know :)

  • I remember watching this. I cried.

  • i thought it was funny how satan fell... God said one of his angels would betray him, and satan prayed that his brothers would be faithful to god. he didnt include himself in the prayer because he thought he was out of harms way (pride). Then god reveals his masterpiece (man) and he goes into a furious rage, because he wasnt protected by the prayer

  • Rosalinda's performance as Satan in this movie was amazing. Her body language, the intesity in her eyes, and the way she spoke while delivering her lines made the scene terrifying without being overdramatic. In my opinion, she played the roll of the Devil much better than any other actor I've seen and she should've won an award for it.

  • just for the sake of clarity - her that wasnt her real voice was it?

  • Lairdesangfroid,

The movie only lists Rosalinda as the actor for Satan and doesn't credit anyone else as being the voice so I'm assuming it was her voice. However, they could have altered it slightly to make it sound more masculine but as far as I know that's her real voice.

  • thanks a lot - tried looking it up on wiki but it gives no in depth character analysis :P

  • @KattieBlack wait the person who played satan was a girl? are you sure b/c that's really weird. why would they get a girl and not a guy to play him?

  • @megaroxylicious Yep, I'm sure. IMDB has Satan listed as being played by Italian actress Rosalinda Celentano. I think they chose a woman to play Satan because people usually interpret the Biblical Satan as being extraordinarily beautiful and women tend to have finer features than men. Rosalinda has a kind of androgynous look so they probably picked her because she could pass for a beautiful man . Whatever the reason, I'm glad they did because she rocked the part.^__^

  • The woman who played satan did a hell of a job, she captured his essence perfectly.

If this movie would have been more than straight gore porn, she prolly would have won an oscar.

  • Barabbas is a hottie.

  • i like the satan in this movie

  • its aramaic not hebrew

  • Hebrew is a beautiful language

  • i wish it was in english

  • you'r right my brother!!! it's the same Story,

Jesus is for each one who loves him!

  • "Allah" is just the word for the title of God in a couple middle eastern languages, Aramaic and Farsi for example. The reality is that what Muslims call "Allah", Jews call "Jehovah" and we call "God the Father". Muslims also believe Jesus existed and was born of the virgin Mary (in their language the name is pronounced Miriam). It is in the personage, death and ressurection of Christ that Muslims differ from Christians. Know where to debate and where to agree.

  • Why would you watch this just to write " zzzzzzzzzzzz" you useless little cunt .

  • @mackers1916 do not use that kind of language towards another person

  • The purpose of this Is to show what the only begotten Son of God ( Christ Jesus The Anointed One ) did to save us from our own sinful nature and reconcile us to God the Father of all creation. He who new no sin became sin that all who believe In Him could have eternal life.

  • Aramaic*

  • I think what a lot of people fail to realize is that religion is completely based upon belief and faith. So why are so many people on this video trying to use logic to disprove religion? Lol, its always funny to come to a video and see people who want to mock religion use logic as a weapon, but fail, therefore making themselves look stupid and ignorant.

Anyway, this movie was a moving illustration of the life of Jesus...and it really did touch my heart. Jesus Christ is Lord.

  • I'm not mocking religion, but even I have to say that this movie, more often than not, focuses on the final days of Christ as opposed to how he lived and taught his disciples.

  • Yeah, that's true, but I gotta say, this is the most accurate depiction I've seen of his final days, lol. But I mean, hey, either way, you're entitled to your own religion, and way of thinking, and I respect it. But it makes me laugh when I come to a video and see people arguing with the wrong psychiatric weapons, lol. If people are gonna come to the video and try to disprove something, they should know whether or not logic is the best weapon xD and when it comes to religion, it simply isn't.

  • I do believe in God, but still, the violence was VERY unsettling.

I'm not really sure why they focused on the violence against Jesus.

  • True, it is unsettling. But you have to consider how the Last Days were kinda undermined by media portrayal. They had to tone it down so that young kids wouldn't grow up with such a vivid image of brutality. I'm 14 years old, but I know for a fact that if I'd seen this at a younger age, I would've probably been overwhelmed.

  • To show how much he suffered for our sins

  • @isteppedonmyhamster

Even so, they should have focused on what Jesus taught his disciples in equal importance to his final days. It just seemed that the violence stood out the most in the film.

Yes, he was crucified, he was tortured, and he wore a crown of thorns, but that's not the only thing we should remember about him.

  • Yes, but thats why this movie is called the passion of the Christ. The passion is the last few days of Christs life leading up to his death....exactly how it is in the bible.

Praying in the garden of Gethsemany (agony in the garden), his betrayal, Judgment before Pilot, scourging at the pillar, carrying of the cross, and then crucifixion.

  • exactly, logic is what reality works according to. If religion is based on beliefs and faith, then there is no point in arguing against it because it is not based on reality. However, then it can be comfortably consigned to the same department as witchcraft, astrology, homeopathy etc etc

  • @TheChildFromTheSand "Lol, its always funny to come to a video and see people who want to mock religion use logic as a weapon, but fail, therefore making themselves look stupid and ignorant."

Yes genius, using logic and reason make you look stupid and ignorant....WOW.

  • @ironjohn1989 lol, :P I said "....see people who want to MOCK RELIGION use logic as a weapon, but fail, therefore making themselves look stupid and ignorant". What I meant was, you can't use logic to disprove religion, because logic is deduction based on facts, and religion is essentially a belief formed and shared by different people. The fact is, logic is simply a deduction, which can be true or untrue, and isn't absolute; therefore it can't prove or disprove religion. Feel me?

  • @TheChildFromTheSand Well said.

  • @TheChildFromTheSand If he is the LORD. than why was he praying to Andonai?

  • @CMKify

    It's properly spelled Adonai* :D

Understand first that when I said "Jesus Christ is Lord", I meant my Lord. lol, secondly, I'm a high school sophomore xD Chances are, the answer I'm about to give you is wrong, so you should ask someone else. Alrrrright. So, Jesus followed Judaism, and in Judaism, "Adonai" means "Lord" or "God". So, the way I saw it was that He was praying to God. :]

  • @TheChildFromTheSand// Yes, I mispelled it. I wanted to fix it but it was too late. Anyway, If he was praying to Lord God, that only means one thing. Jesus is not the main god. He is however, one of the Gods. But we are all gods just like he is. And just because you are a sophomore doesn't mean you don't know anything. thanks for you input.

  • @CMKify Meh, I was taught that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit were all one in the same, and were essentially one entity. But hey, either way, he's my Lord. :] But I wouldn't go so far as to call myself a god xD I'm just your regular, everyday, normal guy, haha.

  • @CMKify DEAR FRIEND,DON'T YOU KNOW THAT ANDONAI IS A FATHER IN HEAVEN AND WHICH IS MEAN HE IS A FATHER TO JESUS CHRIST....HE SEND JESUS TO THE EARTH TO SAVE US,,IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT JESUS A.K.A A SON OF GOD,PLEASE DO READ A BIBLE.OR>>> YOU LOOK FOR LOVE LETTER FROM OUR FATHER IN YOUTUBE... THEN YOU KNOW..

  • @MultiMissfire 2 pac aint dead. . .

  • @TheChildFromTheSand logic doesn't fail, people just choose to ignore it. im not arguing agenst religion, but logic proves religion as well. so dont mock logic.

  • satan is gay

  • satan is played by a woman, Rosalinda Celentano...

  • The Devil was really intresting in tempting him

  • Temptation is the Devil's game. It's how he steals most of his souls. Be wary of temptation.

  • Damn Satan and all devil bull crap... the devil very wicked i do not call him a "He" Nor a "him" the devil is not a human figure the devil is a evil spirit.

  • this movie is so emotional no matter Jesus was real or not if he was he must have been a really awesome guy, and this devil is pretty terrifying and creepy

  • The shaved eyebrow doesn't help...

  • @GARRYKINGLIVE you think this "devil guy" is pretty creepy? he IS the devil. he is not a movie character he is real. he is on the earth right now somewhere. u have seen cartoon devils right? satan is real he is pure evil, his heart his blacker than the depths of space, his goal is to kill all non beleivers of God and send them to hell where he will end up at the end of time

  • That sounds pretty metal.

  • don't you know the origin of islam? well try to read the bible and you will see that the father of islam is ishmael the brother of isaac and their father is abraham. isaac is the son of abraham in his first wife while ishmael is the son of abraham in sara's maid. that's why sara hates ishmael because he's her not son. ishmael and the maid of sara escaped from them and established a new religion which is islam. i think for revenge. read to beleive. read the bible not just the quoran. read both.

  • good point but not necesarily valid. I would love to research that a little more

  • Yeah it is a very good point. Abraham is the only man in history to have created a culture that believed in one god that was not to be worshiped by ideal. Ths Ishmael stuff is in the bible and any muslim will claim that they derieved from Abraham which even christians and Jews believe they do. So 3 religions: Jews, muslims, christians claim that they derive from Abraham. Pretty powerful if you think about it.

  • Jesus suffers, we suffer, animals suffer, the earth suffers...EVERYTHING SUFFERS...whats the meaning in it?

  • read the road less travelled!

  • eh? you make no sense

  • Half the film is screaming, flashbacks and music. Do you really need subtitles?

  • We all stand in the garden now.

  • Everyday... temptation is everywhere... my heart belongs to God!

  • So does your head.

  • Amen!

  • Jesus, we believe in you. We praise and we thank you for sacrificing your own life to save ours.

  • And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah's messenger - they slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain. (157) But Allah took him up unto Himself. Allah was ever Mighty, Wise. (158) (Coran An Nisa 157-158)

  • stop speaking your devil inspired word. You are of your father the devil, the moon god.

  • If you're talking about "Allah", a friend said that Allah is just God in a different language.

    Muslims are not the Devil.

Whatever happened to not judging, "lest ye be judged"?

  • In old days, people of israel used to assemble in the temple on the day of passover. The main priest used to sacrifice an innocent lamb for the sins of the people on that day. Similarly, Christ, who was also killed during the passover day, is the innocent lamb of God. Due to his sufferings, God is pleased and agrees in everything with him. So, for those who believe in him, obey his rules and who repents will have eternal life.

  • God of the universe.. is suffering.

  • what a horrible night, in the history of mankind!

  • NO what a great night because had this not happened we would of been screwed had he not given his life. Plus they said he died from a broken heart not from the nails or lashes. But I really know what you meant by said what you said. Just showing other view. God bless my friend.

  • We should not worship a false, invisible and such a destructive deity that brings some much anguish to our society. We must worship the human race and treat mother nature with the respect and awe it deserves. We have forgotten our identity and let our greed for money and possesions and our stubborness to believe in a God we ourselves created in ancient times to explain things we couldnt explain then, take us to the brink of extinction. Humanity, logic and nature are real people, not God.

  • Also the opening of this video is a distortion of Isaiah 53. Isaiah here is referring to the Jewish people, they are the suffering servant talked about in this passage. Furthermore none of Isaiah fits the Jesus described in the Gospels as Jesus never had children (but Isaiah says the messiah would see his "seed"), nor was he governor of Judea or prince of peace as verses 9:6 talk about

  • I will give any arguement for God, and my argument is simple h2o water. Water is a unique phenomenon and given it's properties should not act the way if does, you see when water freezes in the winter it should freeze from the bottom up, which would kill all life living in that water. However it's unique water freezes from the top in the winter allowing life in the water underneath. From a biological standpoint this is baffling which points to Intelligent design

  • Holy shit I just let it fester how absolutely retarded that argument was in the first place- plus your initial one. The proof that Jesus existed is minimal, and nothing proves he was divine.

HOLY SHIT YOUR BLATANT REGARD FOR THE LAWS OF PHYSICS ASTOUNDS ME. WHY WOULD WATER FREEZE FROM THE BOTTOM UP IF IT RESTS ON A BED THAT IS WARMER THAN IT'S EXPOSED SURFACE? Holy crap, if you represent Christianity as a whole, it's worse than I thought.

  • I firmly beilieve in a divine beeing and not only that as a history major can tell you there is no dispute Jesus existed, the only dispute is that he clearly was not born Dec 25, he was in fact probably born in March

  • You believe that god worked in concert with our current theories on the creation of the world based on a simple, innocent look at the situation, but the bottom line is a lot of threads and a lot of concepts hit a dead end where they don't really so far in fields such as particle physics (super gravity). The concept of a divine being who's very existence contradicts itself (He's all powerful, all perfect, all knowing, and all omniscient- but he feels anger, fear, and happiness) doesn't fit neatly

  • Um where did I say God feels anger fear, etc, I didn't. Why would God have to experience our emotions? I know scientifically speaking This is a frustrating answer but could you imagine a divine being beeing like any man?Besides the bible describes an evil being to why is it so hard to believe that if a rightous God exist an Evil being could exist to causing jealousy, fear, anger etc

  • I believe a slightly misquoted but still existent quote from the bible used in Pulp Fiction explains this scenario- "and I will strike down upon him with great VENGEANCE AND FURIOUS ANGER". And besides, why is the fact that the bible said it a usable fact? A valid point? A piece of fiction written by people with no medical, scientific, or educational background up to date with modern, fact-based understanding 2000 years ago is hardly reliable testimony, as far as I'm concerned.

  • Continued how can man always know what his creator means? I believe I have shown you that Science and Religion tell the same creation story when there is no way ancient humanity would have known, however like I said before the problem lies with man's interprations of the bible. God could have taken thousands of years to create man, however because somebody would have been insulted they disputed Evolution. It says in Genises man was god's most complicated creation

  • if you look at the original Hebrew, the used for day means one actual 24 hour time period. Theres no way it could be thousands of years.

  • Um Dude there is nowhere in the biblke where it says that God created the world in six 24 hr days in fact if you can find a reference to any 24 hr day in the Old Testament let me know. There is no 24hr time period mentioned anywhere in the bible new or old don't lie

  • Why would it take an all-powerful infinite being who's so powerful that when his methods or blatant contradictions are questioned, the answer is always "it just is", take more than literally the tiniest moment imaginable (or perhaps, unimaginable) to create the world? And all the other worlds that we know exist- The Bible fails to mention those.

  • My friend if you can find in the bible where it says this anything about it beeing one actual 24HR day let me know, as far as I remember 24 hr is not anywhere in the bible at all leaving it to interpretation

  • That because you haven't read the Bible in the original Hebrew. The Hebrew word that day was translated from meant a actual 24 hour period

  • well why does God have to "rest"? The hebrew word used for rest is "shevat". Does an all-powerful God have to rest after creating the universe? Does that make sense? This was in fact a creation of jewish scribes and was a polemic against babylonian gods. The babylonian gods went through harvest seasons and tributes which restored their energies, so in contrast to them Yahweh (god of the Jews) could simply recharge his energies by resting on the 7th day of each week. Most jewish stories come alik

  • Thats right Jesus crush that snake!

  • Dear MrSingu, as your point of view is different so our is. But yes, we are children, children of God. When you read the Bible, you saw that there are a lot of prophets, who talk about Mesiah. These prophets tell exactly the truth, because thay have talked with the messengers of God - the angels or heared God's will. That's why you think the Bible can be interpreted in some very differen ways. I wish you to reach the Holly knowledge, bequethed to us by our Lord Jesus Christ. God Bless you!

  • I know it's hard to reason with people whoms faith in God is so strong. Its like telling a child of 3 that Santa Claus doesnt exist. I have read the bible partially and the problem with that book is, or any other religous book for that matter, that it can be interpreted in any way you like it. The stories that are told about ancient times seem more like fiction than fact. All I'm asking is that you people think for yourselfs instead of the thinking be done for you. Its ignorant.

  • I pratially agree with u, i was raised in christianity but i find flaws in my religion,

  • Jesus Christ won this battle and the fallen one was defeated on Golgotha. I can't even listen to this demon's seductions...it is...so disgusting...Jesus is our saviour! He crashed the snake in the same way that the Archangel Michael crashed the serpent. And this serpent was cast out from Heaven forever. A very strong scene, I confess.

  • GOT THAT RIGHT VICTORY!!!

  • God MAY exist. But not in the form of a supreme being who judges us at death. If there is a God, he exists in the form of nature and time. Its foolish for a human to believe he can be a righteous man if he does what a 2000 year old book tells him to do. To be righteous is to be good in everything you do and not make exceptions. Do not judge people by what they are or do, look at yourself first. Do on to others, as we would have them do it to you. Jesus is not your savior, Logic is.

  • no your wrong god is our father and he died for us on the cross man god will judge us at the end of time

  • Well, Jesus died.

  • Listen to you, speaking as if you know the truths of the Universe. Who are you to tell somebody how to live? By logic? Is that really a requirement, or is that too a time-tested human invention?

  • I'll answer for you - logic is not going to make the pain of a death go away, or give you good friends that would die for you, or make you do brave or heroic things. It isn't 100% of life as a human being, not by far.

  • Your right. Belief in a false god and a religion that cannot be in the least bit corroborated will protect you from pain of death though.

Morphine works to. But what do i know?

  • I don't think you know a whole lot, to be honest. Why don't you answer that question, though, since I'm not you?

It's great that you're skeptical, really... that's how we should all be as intelligent beings... but God is an inevitable outcome of the Universe, one in which WE are creating so many things that even amaze ourselves.

  • How is "He" inevitable? Is he inevitable because that is a very convienant thought for you? Is he inevitable because you WANT to think that when you die, worthless, cold and a nobody that there will be someone out there to love you? To help you? Because i think thats exacly what religion is. A distraction. A Distraction from how bad life really is, and to give you some hope in a hopeless world of something better.

I know more than you. I like to think i know a lot, but than again i am arrogant

  • you mean 'but THEN again'...

You may know more THAN me, but THEN again you may not. You certainly don't know which, and knowledge is irrelevant when talking about a metaphysical existence.

What I want to think has nothing to do with reality. If you want to think that a bunch of coincidental and flawed set of physical laws came about for no particular reason, and that sounds okay to you, fine. Who created those laws? Who creates the laws in a computer program? Does the computer know who?

  • congratulations. You can use a grammar textbook.

Unfourtunatly for you, you computer analogy has no merit. I am not a computer (But you must be, the way you correct grammar), so i cannot attest to that. And neither can you (Unless my above statement is true). Who created those laws? Nature created those laws, we simply interpret them.

You call physical law flawed? You have an entire religion based on one woman who really stuck to her story. You base all your "Evidence" of god on a book.

  • A computer is basically a series of on and off switches- transistors if you will. It is a tool- an extremely complex tool, but that's all it is. The mere fact that we are having this conversation disproves that we are tools, and instead that we are capable of true thought- and if we are capable of those things, by your logic, god doesn't exist.

All paths don't lead to god, you dolt, because in fact in most current particle physics theories right now, for them to work, god CAN'T exist. See:

  • "The mere fact that we are having this conversation disproves that we are tools."

In what way? Stop being so circular and technical for a moment and use the 'un-tool-like' part of your brain... think about what we are CAPABLE of thinking about and imagine what we may NOT be capable of thinking about.

  • Okay- I know it's very difficult for us to impossible what seeing in the second or fourth dimension would be like, as we move through and see in only the third dimension. I know it's difficult for a person to conceive how impossibly small an atom is- amongst other things. But what you're asking me is a blatant contradiction. Let me put it this way- one day a group of people got together. They thought- "Holy crap- how the hell did I get here? Well, I have no basic information and/or way of

  • Not really a contradiction - the fact that you can say that there may be other dimensions is drawing upon imagination, however unable we are to carry that through into understanding.

  • explaining it- so it must have been some all powerful being!"

As human understanding of the world around them grew- the explanations grow more convenient. "Well, how the hell would the gods be on Olympus? We know there's nothing up there but snow..." "Uuuh, in that case, I guess the creator is an all powerful but an all powerful entity! But uuuh- since this could be an easy way for us to gain influence, how about he only speaks to certain people- and is angry at those who don't listen to him?"

  • religion is an all too convenient method for explaining everything that we couldn't once prove with logic. As human logic grows, the explanations become increasingly more convenient, the rules change to allow different people to come into different positions of power- and because people have felt comfortable with it for so long, people who are otherwise rational and intelligent seriously consider that there might be an invisible man who lives in the sky and grants their wishes.

  • You don't see a trend for that in science? Don't you think the concepts in religion were, at one time, too coincidental to primitive observation to be just superstition?

I believe the same exact thing will happen to our 'logic' - it is simply another result of the way in which we observe and analyze things.

  • Except that science is ever more piling on evidence- everything from the fact that the earth is round, to Newton, to Einsteins relativity- it's all been or is being proven. Forever, while science has been evolving based on evidence and what we've observed with enhanced, developed intelligence, religion has only changed when it's leaders wanted it to. No, god did not come to all the people in the world and say "it's okay to eat shellfish now!"- or "The pope is the closest to me now!"

  • Guess what?? Science just ignores the questions that make it absolutely irrelevant. Nobody needs science to live their life - no other animal ever in existence ever needed it, for billions of years. It's the burden of our intelligence.

  • I'm going outside for a walk now, and clearing my head of all this bullshit. lol

  • I'm sorry, there is a difference between relevance and accuracy. No one needs religion to live their lives- and in fact, something tells me we would enjoy our lives much more without it.

  • (continuation) super gravity.

  • That sentence was terrible. "One in which we are creating so many things that even amaze ourselves". Talk about grammar.

  • A fragment, yes; sue me. There is no other problem with it; if you find one, be more specific.

  • Bible makes a comment about you MrSingu,... for the gentiles it is foolishness,.. but for one who believes it is eternal life.. Do you know one thing, now you have said that logic is your saviour., but i'm happy that surely you are going to regret for your blasphemy. In a short time you with your tongue is going to proclaim that jesus is the one and only saviour and he died for your sins also. your knee shall bow before the lord and will confess him as the true saviour. hope to see you n heaven
