@GJNCA He was also drunk, so he was just as guilty. He's had DUIs in the past, but this will be his first manslaughter and hopefully his last. He broke the law and should have served time instead of just a slap on the wrist. Give it some time and before you know it, he'll be arrested again for drinking while under the influence.
@GJNCA Just read that on some news website. There are conflicting stories, one witness which was his passenger said the light was yellow. A couple of other witnesses are saying that he ran the light. Like I said the police might have been over zealous. They arrived at the scene and someone needs to be held responsible. If she survived most likely she would be in trouble as well
The chick he who was driving was more drunk then he was, not wearing her seatbelt, texting while driving, had no headlights on, and was the one who ran the red light. She is the one who should be the suspect but since she passed away the cops look for someone to blame. Im not saying that her dying isn't tragic but she is just as much or more at fault then Leyritz. The cops were looking for someone to blame the death on and turned to Leyritz, when in reality the women really attempted murder.
@ItsFrankieBoy you need to watch his arrest video, he seems lucid to me. I realize a young woman died, and the police are under pressure. Just saying you need to keep an open mind
@theyankeesaregay Not convicted yet, need to keep an open mind. Did you see his arrest video? He seemed sober to me. I think it might be over zealous police. They arrived at a horrific crash, and needed to blame someone.
No doubt he's paying in many ways for his crime. Calling him names doesn't help much. I still will remember his timely exploits on the field before his persona life went sour; destructive, etc. He'll have to answer for all of that,.
hey no one knows what happened so give the guy a break guilty until proven innocent the american way .08 he was not drunk watch the video dui he is aokay in my eyes she was drunk
it was a .14 blood alcohol level not .08 as you claim....he was also just arrested for battery against his ex-wife as his three children slept....I guess he's innocent of that too...a real class act that Leyritz.
Obviously, this is just a video of people at Yankee Stadium. Leyritz was never a favorite of mine and drunk driving is utterly reprehensible. Entirely his fault but everyone should wear seat belts -- if the other driver had been, perhaps she'd be alive today and be able to tell Leyritz herself what a jerk he is.
Two wrongs don't make a right, but wasn't she drunk as well? They were both in the wrong and unfortunately for her, she passed away. People will just never learn. There is no deterrent, but what they need to do is have harsher penalties.
she was talking on her cell phone and drunk, that's even more stupid

@GJNCA
Well if she was "drunk" then bam, why convict him? If you feel bad for her you should know she is "just AS GUILTY" as him.

Why would anyone want a photo of a murderer? If this accident happened in NY those cops would fix the charge.
