AKA your house has a router in it somewhere and you have WiFi at home. You have a normal 360 without a wireless adapter for it. Your 360 is too far away from the router to be connected by a wire.

Thus you connect your 360 with an ethernet cable to a laptop or PC which has a wireless adapter built in.

Depending on your connection, most likely yes. My younger brother would play online games on my iMac while I was using it as a wireless adapter and my games would lag minor to severe, depending on the connection used.

@PoteGamer: It all depends on what time of internet speed you are paying for. Not only that but there is heaps of stuff to take into account like your ping and line quality and all that stuff. At my house i have 3 desktop PC's and the Xbox 360 on Live. My internet is currently 1500Mbps with my ISP and i can play Modern Warfare 2 online with no lag while my sister is using her PC in her room and someone else is on the family PC. It really depends. But as a general rule, Lag is unavoidable.
