How does he or any human know, "This light has been beaming for 13 billion years." & How does he or any human know, "that the universe is only 13.7 billion years old"? He smiles big after he says it. lol. Crazy how he or any human can know this. But I guess they can.

@NorthWestRegionRep Well, when you consider when you open the lens of some camera, and the speed at which light travels, you can measure how long it took the light from that item to reach you. This 'item' is apparently also a galaxy, which, relative to our position, would be 13 billion years old after you mess with all the calculations.

The idea of the universe being 13.7 billion years old comes from the cosmic microwave background radiation found by Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson, IIRC.

To finally be part of energy without being subjected to it's demise as seen on earth. @turkmuslim4ever our galaxy is not the oldest. the big bang didn't happen at the center of our galaxy, it happened at the center of the universe. our galaxy is one of hundreds of billions of galaxies speeding away from a central point. nowhere in the history of astronomy have we claimed that our galaxy was the oldest.

this discovery in no way breaks the Big Bang theory.
