  • did you know in the old Cessna's you can open the window and knock the ice of the wings with a broom handle....

  • Dude, you're supposed to hold your whisky glass out of the window and catch it.

  • dude...

  • maybe they loaded the entire plane up with jerry cans of fuel and whenever the tank got low one guy would have to tie a rope around his waist and lean out the side to refill the gas tank.

  • @cantroos no, they have tank mods that take up the back seat and cargo space

  • Is that someone else in loose formation? How many a/c normally ferry?

Good post. Guess you don't want to do this at night!

  • fuck thats creepy.... I dont know why cessna doesnt make boots for those things. or anny high performance ifr single. exept pc12,caravan,tbm,malibu,meridan ect..

  • @airmotojh A light Cessna like this can't support an anti-ice system for a number of reasons. The engineers have to consider the additional weight that the system would contribute, which could mean carrying less fuel or fewer passengers. Also, they would have to figure out how it would be powered, either from engine power or electrical heating. I definitely want to see the technology develop too, but it'll be a bit longer until it's finally integrated into small aircraft like this.

  • @mikeydapilot well you are right about that how ever thats all stuff I alreday know. But with higher technology in materials, chemicals and so on so fourth I cant see why there is no mod out there for lighter se aircraft ? And the Cirrus, Corvalis and Diamond models all have moderate known icing protection which i might add is certified. If I could id slap a 120hp tubine and hot prop, boots and oxygen on my 150 and haul ass at FL 250 !

    I wish.........Happy Holidays !

  • @mikeydapilot they do make them for cessnas, they dont for 150's, and some variants of other models because of weight balence issues, but for the bigger models they do

@airmotojh they do make de-icing equipment for those aircraft

  • ferry flight across the atlantic in a 182. That is epic

  • Wow, a ferry flight across the Atlantic in a 182?! Hope you got paid a lot for that!

  • Forget the fact that you were icing up....a ferry flight across the atlantic in a 182?!? Wow you have balls of steel mate!!

  • Fuking crazy bastards....LOL No offence.

  • at least it's off

  • No TKS...that was just +1 degree celsius melting the ice

  • Did that Cessna have TKS mounted?
