  • if you stretch a lot you will grow taller. i have proven it on myself. i dont know about the stretches in this video but the stretches i was doing made me grow a quarter inch in a week. exactly a quarter of an inch. and it is permanent

  • @best496 Very true; its common sense really. Your bones try to grow outward while your tendons and ligaments repress the other way.

  • Stretching is overrated and can actually damage you if you're doing it wrong. Always be careful and do proper research before doing stretching. Never stretch before doing an activity. Always do it the last 5-10 minutes and be careful with what type of stretching you do as doing the wrong ones can injure your muscles in that section.

    60 year old men who have never stretched can learn to do the splits.

  • @dexter1 well, stretching is exercising. stretching will make you feel more energetic. i feel like it motivates me to do more exercising because of the energy boost you get from it. if you are not in very good shape this could be very helpful as a starter for stamina. when you feel like you can get through full exercise routines and still feel like you have energy after wards, i would recommend you go for runs. stretching will also make you feel more comfortable throughout the day.

  • @dexter1 i dont think it will actually make you taller, but males are suppose to have the potential for growth until they are 24 years old.

  • @dexter1 better flexibility, is only usefull if you do some sports next to it. if you have no experience in stretching you should join courses to get the basics, like how to breath and have someone correct your positions if wrong.

Older articles often recommended stretching before strenuous activity, while some more modern writings claim stretching before exercise can weaken you a bit and increase risk of injury. My preference is to start with an active warm-up (vigorous walking or light jogging), then engage in the sport, then stretch. If you already have an injury, you may need a different routine.

And as far as range of motion goes, stretching can't make your muscle longer. Stretching simply decreases the sensitivity of your muscle gamma-neurons, reaching their threshold later. This is indeed useful in sports like martial arts, but not in sports involving sprinting, where stretching reduce speed.

  • @Mortenhn Hi what you say is partially true. However, I do specific stretching exercises that help prevent shin splint and sore calves, and they help me a lot. At least my body reacts positively to it. Anyhow, make sure to brisk walk or do some short cardio before stretching. Then do real workout!

  • it's common for professional athletes, especially swimmers and bikers, to shave their bodies extensively. The swimmers do it to cut the water better (less drag). The bikers do it in case they crash. The scabs are easier to deal with without hair.
