Ohh about the spur gear, i got an old metal gear out of an old machine in shop class and i cut the center of the plastic gear out and put in in the metal one and used JB weld (glue) to hold it in place, and ive been running it for 5 months now.

@93FORDBRONCO1 it could be your gear mesh take a peace of paper bout the sise of the spur gear and move the bell so it taking in the paper and if there holes ur gear mesh is too toght so lousin the four engine mount screws on the bottom of chasis and move it a tad away from the spur gear and if it hardly leaving any marks tighten up the gear mesh same way as lousing it but twords the spur gear the paper sould be in the mid of holes and nothing hope i helped

i would say there are a lot of good used* nitro's on ebay... I bought 2 Traxxas Nitro Rustlers for $65 each and they smoke this car (i also had a spare TRX 3.3 engine to drop in one so... maybe thats why it smokes this buggy--- lol)

How much was ur s8bx? my car was $150. I bought it because it was cheap not because I was trying to impress. :) This was just a fun car just like my XTM X-cellerator. I have 2 rustlers that I have fun with, one with a TRX 3.3 and even those are inexpensive. I got both Rustlers for $75ea. ;)

i do know how to adjust the 2 speed, you have to take out the gear box. and open it up.. and you either loosen or tighten it with a hex wrench. it will just make it engage either sooner or later ;)

parts are easy to get... i'm currently trying to figure out how to get steel spur gear and steel clutch bell installed... i've been having a problem with the spur gear melting on me. on my other car i've put steel spur gear and clutch bell, and ive had no problems at all... i'm trying to the same for this one but i'm having trouble at the moment. God quality car, replacement parts are cheap usually less than $5.

alright well i have another question. awhile back my car had a huge problem and i think it got dirt in the engine. i could not run it without the glow starter in. now it runs great just it over heats after about a half tank. i used to be able to run it for 4 tanks without it heating up. help plz??

i'd watch a video of how to break apart your engine, i'd clean all the parts, oil then, then rebuild it back. Then I'd go from there... thats all i can tell yA. like i said if its a known brand it shouldnt over heat easily. If is a stock engine that is unknown i recomment you upgrade ur engine.

who makes the 18 cxp??? i'd go with an o.s. .15 its $100 its reliable. I'm putting in a Traxxas TRX 3.3 in mine but it requires more modifications that expected so i wouldnt recommend that unless you have a few extra dollars and more time on your hands.

seanjohn2525... what type of engine u use... factory? like is it a known name engine? You prolly need to re-tune your engine... now if it is a un-known name engine you prolly need to buy a new engine... the engine in the Exceed RC is unknown and overheats easily. thats why i bought a new one.

hey can anyone help me?? i am having some problems with my exceed rc its a .16 single speed. i cannot get it up to full speed for some reason, and i have adjusted the needle valve numerous times. when it is tighter it dies when i punch it and when its way open it works somewhat better. also it is overheating alot and i need some help. plz write back. ty

ya i did the low speed one too. i think im going to reset it tho cuz it might be wrong. its kinda funny cuz i run it and it works great then loses all the power and overheats after about half a tank.

I just bought the Traxxas 3.3 Engine for Spaztik* my Exceed RC Buggy... I will post videos when i get it in the mail and installed, i also bought a steel spur gear, i was having a problem with melting spur gears... a steel one should eliminate that problem. =)

the O.S. .15 is a possible drop in engine for $100... you may go that route. O.S. is very reliable in all fields, boats, trucks, planes. I put one in my Tower Hobbies St.15 and it runs greaT. I decided i wanted a TRX 3.3 so bad that i just bought it... now i'm finding it hard to install in the Exceed buggy because the crankshaft isn't AS long as the stock engines shaft, so i'm having to buy new parts etc. Anyway I'll put up vid's when i finall finish. Haha ya u seem cooL too.
