fanta has ruined this ride, i mean, in the station where it says dont look down, fanta have slapped a bloody great poster with the gay little people saying "looking down's the fun part!". it completely destroys the atmosphere, which is probably a third of the reason it is so awesome :(

@ol987986 Don't worry, they've now removed all of the posters and banners around Oblivion, including the god awful "looking down's the fun part" sign. The only remaining Fanta advertisement is around the re-hydrator bar, next to Oblivion's drop. :)

I'm not sure why Alton Towers allowed access for this documentary. It showed the park in a really cynical light. The narrator says the word 'magic/magical' so much that by the end of the programme it sounds like a tainted word.

Well I've ridden Oblivion, G5, Sheikra & Griffon and I think oblivion is still my favorite Dive Machine ! Just wish they'd make it floorless !

I cant stand ppl who are on you tube bragging about stuff, but on this day, my dad's work was given a free pass for half an hour after alton towers closed to ride oblivion solely - it was soaking but we did it about 10 times - i sound like i'm 10 writing this! ha

no, it's water vapor (wide small-factor nozzles) you can feel the damp as you plunge into the hole. plus there's lots of algae around the nozzles. but yes it is always on.
