    Unrestricted airflow produces more power. You're right that the air might not be clean however, but these types of cars usually have their engines worked on a regular basis unlike people who want to have a daily driver.

    88' Toyota Supra with 7m-gte built to 1400 HP and with all supporting mods to make reliable, plus customization to make the car beautiful inside and out: 45,000$.

    Double the Horses, not even half the price. 2 less cylinders and thanks to a fuel programmer, when you're not at the track, you can have a dialed back fuel map for economy. 25mpg.

    Can't beat DIY work.

    Buying a "supercar" is for someone too rich, stupid and/or lazy to do it themself.

    Take a ZR1, then the savings of not buying over priced POS (making sure not to "one-up" you), drop a fraction of that into it, you now have a race ready beast. That is what the Corvette GT teams do. Take a car from the show room, strip the interior, roll cage, up horse power by way of tuning and there you have it. Eat your own PUSSY (blatant "one-up") instead of foot moron. By the way, the interior (i agree) is not the argument, stop changing the subject or admit that you wrong.

  • @MazakApplications Well id just say that is a good example of the potential that the big c.i motors have. Honda has a 200hp n/a 4cyl yea, but that is really pushing it for n/a 4cyl power. Its about as efficient as it could be. Where as chevy can make a 500hp lsx and its no where near max efficiency, because it doesnt need to be. It can make those 500hp and still run hard for 300k miles. They are built to take abuse. They take very well to bolt ons because the potential is there.

  • @slayerman95 no most definitely not, i work for a local tuning shop that specializes in ecu mapping and carburetor setups. and i have the tune in my 2004 svt terminator. which is far from stock and is my daily driver, im sure you do have a car but nothing faster than my setup. i can run 8 psi and make a mere ~650hp/670lbft of torque, 8 psi is nothing, but when i turn it up i can make about in the 800 range at 15psi, but thats only when i race.

The earlier corvettes had fiberglass bodies because at the time it was a lightweight groundbreaking material on the same level that we view Carbon fiber.

  • @ladygodia I am well-aware of this. '57 was the first Fuel-Injected V8. '55 was the first v8 (350 CI) . '53 (the first year), only about 300 were made, with the "blue flame" straight six engine, and a two-speed auto.

    '83 was the only year the 'Vette was not built, since the first in '53...but ALL Corvettes are fiberglass...aka..."plastic".

    I would sooner recommend putting that LS1 in the back of a Fiero. That way, it has performance to match it's looks for once, as it never had that off the showroom floor with that boat anchor 2.8 OHV V6 or "Iron Duke" 2.4 four. lol

    That particular 240 was a KA24 car. Not a bad engine at all. But the LS1 and T56 trans made it into a monster. Nothing but tire spin on stock width tires. Tire spin 1st through 3rd, long squeal into 4th, hard chirp into 5th, never tried 6th.

  • @21min56secs Actually, I have. It's underpowered, the suspension is poor. The chassis is too flexy. I'm a real racer, not a ricer. I race in the Formula VEE class. I must admit the handling is superior to any STOCK 1969 car.

  • @21min56secs I don't care about 1/4 mile. The skidpad numbers don't lie. There were numerous sports cars pulling 1.0g on skidpad. For same price. .87g is a family car handling.

    I actually race vintage Formula Ford chassis with VW engines. They're from 60s and 70s. I pull almost 2.0g on skidpad. Now, that's handling.

  • @QuicksilverdotFX your driving a spec sheet. i have a spanked up z32 300zx making 500 at the rear and i assumed the 250 or so horses would be a let down but trust me its a tight car. the shifts are easy the turns are quick and you won't have the same fun as driving a sedan. a NSX weights less than 1.5 tons. most sedans are almost over 2 tons
