I've been curious this series. I really like Sam Adams' homebrew selections. I remember their Irish Red that they took was excellent!

This may not be my favorite of the bunch but still great to hear about.

I am a fan of the Long Shot series just because it is great way to get more people into craft beer. I haven't had the Old Ale, but I love the Lemon Pepper Saison.

@TheFoamingHead not everything they make is good. What about Cherry Wheat? or the Coastal Wheat?

@ChadzBeerReviews I haven't had the Coastal Wheat. I have had the Cherry Wheat but don't remember it all that well. I don't think many breweries make nothing but great beers. I just think Sam Adams makes alot of good stuff. Add that to the fact that they deserve a fair amount of praise for bringing craft beer along in this country, I don't think they get enough respect from the craft beer nerds/geeks.

@TheFoamingHead Yeah they are a gateway brewery to be sure, and a lot of the stuff they make is good, but NOTHING they make is amazing. But they also make a lot of deliberately pedestrian beer, the Cherry Wheat being the prime example. To me, their quality is about the same as Saranac. But they're not in the same league as Southern Tier, Three Floyds, Dogfish Head, etc.
