If you're going to be so basic, at least hit some pentatonic sequences or string skip so the notes are in harmony. After listening to psyopus, their guitarist is out of his mind thinking he can give tapping lessons, It's inspired me to post a video of true technique rather than the slop he's slinging.

So if you're going to sell videos on tap technique, at least be able to hit basic ones in melodic keys. He can't even do that and neither can you.

Second, don't judge someone by what you hear on a record. I have toured with Chris Arp and have seen the stuff he can really do. And not to be a jerk or anything, although your tapping technique video is impressive, it still contains the same stuff you were complaining about. The notes you play ( the ones you can actually hear because of the horrible distorted sound ) sound like a broken computer, kinda like Buckethead tapping. Be polite, thanks

@Skelbassist my tapping is far better than buckethead's or Chris's and is indeed, in key. That video is also some REALLY basic stuff, I can hit some very complex sequences such as true 8 finger sequential arpeggios, They're by far the most difficult and to find anyone that can do them is nearly impossible, even if they can play pieces that require all 8 fingers.

So no I'm not quick to judge, I'm just a more advanced player and got sick of him spamming his instructional DVD on myspace.

Another thing is this, I'm playing what a previous bass player wrote. And if you know anything about PsyOpus, it isn't the most melodic stuff ever written. So playing "pentatonic sequences" during a atonal/diminished lick is the wisest of ideas. Also, why the hell do you feel the need to randomly come to a video and spew a bunch of complete trash? Out of key, fast taps sound more robotic than melodic taps. Composed taps of course sound the best and sadly, his horrid sound IS composed.

That's right, someone is actually putting hard work into sounding that incredibly bad AND, he's trying to charge people to learn how to do it!

If you're going to promote yourself as having knowledge worth paying for, you need to be very thorough and he's not even close. It's not simply chromatic, it's off key and sour. My sloppy improv sounds better than his best work

Sour notes combined with other sour notes doesn't sound good and has nothing to do with theory.

Theory is boring and uncreative, my music very clearly demonstrates pure, free form artistry by being atonal and enigmatic. Theory produces template style music like Malmsteen, Cooley, Romeo etc.

Psyopus sells instructional vids on tapping and kept spamming me. I checked his work out, it's terrible and years behind me. Look up Adam Fulara ya turd

I can hit 8 finger succession arpeggios as demonstrated in my vid and when rehearsed, they're faster and clean.

@JonDeth I have never claimed to be a musician. I have played guitar for only several years and with no instruction, purely for fun; I have no doubt you are "beyond" than me at it. However, when comparing yourself to a well-established and creative musician like Christopher Arp, being "beyond" his skill set is not a valid unit of comparison. Arpeggios and finely-crafted technique mean nothing if they aren't creative or original.
