  • Women make ~ 25% less because more women choose part-time jobs which offer fewer hours, and thus, a lower annual income. Of course, the 25% figure does not include women that are completely out of the workforce, such as lifetime stay-at-home women and mothers.

  • Equal Workplace Danger Day : January 7

Seven days are the number needed for women to work to accumulate the same number of workplace deaths as men.

  • If women were paid less for the same job, there would be no economic incentive to hire men. Apprently, there are no smart businessmen or businesswomen that are able to run a large corporation with an exclusively female workforce while many are able to run with nearly all men.

  • They want they're cake and mine.

I haven't met a women that hasn't made more then me in the same profession fyi.

Maybe men make more money in general because they are willing to work in more severe conditions (which has already been proven)

Not to mention the pregnancy leave.

  • Women want equal pay fine. But take away their privileges.

  • @thompsoncorey Privileges as shorter work weeks, shorter commutes, work indoors, work on a fixed schedule, work at a fixed location, no overtime (unpaid or not), less workplace danger, work at night.

  • There is equal pay in the US. I did not know the EU was so behind the times.

  • Women are paid 27% less for the same work in the U.S. Check your statistics please.

  • Any stats that claim women unfairly get less pay then men is bogus. But feel free to post a link to your stats and I promise to look at them.

  • Having trouble finding the stats?

  • Still waiting.

  • And waiting for eternity because unequal pay is just anothet myth created by the left wingnuts in this country.

  • @humynism Well considering the fact that women take more time off = LESS PAY. Facts are such ugly things.

  • @humynism Here is the primary source in the US with the conclusion that women are paid less entirely due to their choice of job, not due to sexual discrimination. The ~25% difference is also documented to be due to women working fewer hours per week.

US Department Labor (2009) "An Analysis of Reasons for the Disparity in Wages Between Men and Women"

  • awesome!

  • Jesus said,"A man's heart determines his speech."

  • Paying women the same for less work is insulting - to both men and women

  • And I want back pay for staying home razing 3 boys and one man for the last 25 years. Figure that up for me and see how much Obama owes me.

  • So, when you stayed at home, taking care of that man, where did HE go everyday? That's right, he went to WORK to support ALL of you deadbeats!!

  • My husband doesn't look at his family the way you do. He values his 3 young men and his wife. One of our boys has graduated college and one is about to graduate from college in psychology and one about to begin college.

I contributed a great deal to the smooth running of the ship we call our home.

What are you a 40 year old deadbeat with no family?

  • So you sit around all day looking at porn on the computer? You are the deadbeat.

  • Mighty "christian" of you to assume that!

  • Let us remember to keep our words soft and tender because we light have to eat them one day.

  • I'm sorry your wife left you. Maybe you should have treated her better and with some respect and she would still be around for you. You should have loved her as Christ loves the church.

watch the movie Fireproof. That way if you do marry again in the future you will know how to treat other people.

    peace and love to you.

  • That was suppose to be " Let us keep our words soft and tender because we might have to EAT them one day."

  • It's ok. I'm glad you kept your words palatable. How do they taste?

  • MY word's taste fine and yours?

  • so you still think I am a deadbeat?

  • You expect to be paid for raising children? They are your children, you are expected to raise them. That's the definition of a parent.

  • Well I would have to pay someone else to raise them, so why not? and also , no one could have done a better job than I did at raising my own children, They turned out very profitable for society. They are not costing us a penny now. They didn't go to prison and they are feeding themselves. My husband and I deserve much more than we got for the job. I assure you of that much. Are you a parent? I had great parents also and they didn't get paid a red cent for all of their hard work either.

  • It looks like you raised your kids properly and they turned to be productive members of society. Raising kids is not the same type of job as going to the office, or construction site, or dental clinic. When I go to work, I get paid to work. You don't get paid for having kids nor raising them. They are YOUR children. It is expected that you raise them. Your only "pay" is when they grow up, get jobs, don't do crime, care for others. So guess what, you have been paid.

  • Raising children is a full-time job. Last time I checked, some people do have to "pay" OTHERS to raise their children ,while THEY go to work. No , I did not get paid to raise my children. Too many parents left their children in the wrong hands, now my children will have to pay to try and correct their future world.
