  • What the hell ever happened to music? As a black women who grew up in New York City I remember so vividly how blacks and whites listened pretty much to the same music, watched the same television shows, and enjoyed the same movies. Everything in entertainment appears to be segregated and the music is straight garbage. I thank youtube so much for letting me relive so many wonderful memories of my childhood. Dreamin is such a big part of it.

  • 21 with a beautiful young wife...this song always made me fall a little more in love with her every time I heard it play on the radio or in my head. Four years afterward and I would've gladly split her skull open with a chainsaw.

  • i was in 10th grade, great oldie!!

  • In the mid to late 70's, I was in a Chicago suburd and used to listen to WLS when they were a music station. THIS was in the rotation, for sure!

  • @auctionguyinmo I remember WLS! They played great music back then!

  • I used to listen to this in the late seventies as a kid in the game room at a camp me and my family went to called Spring Gulch. Oh the memories!

  • love this song and video !!! thank you !! =)

  • 1980. One of the last days of classic AM radio. In just a few months after this song came out. MTV would sign on, FM stations would start playing top 40 but with a more strict playlist. the slick fast talking AM disk jockeys would move to FM and be neutered by consultants and eventually be replaced with 'cyber jocks" and automation. AM would change formats and slow disappear under a sea of static from computers and electrical noise. I'll take some old school on my old AM radio anyday.

  • @patrick9648

Youre right because shortly afterwards talk radio took over AM radio & ruined it.

  • So many memories...a timeless song. Thank You!!!

Yes, it it a great album, in no small part because of the great production work by Alan Tarney of the Tarney Spencer Band.

  • Dearest Mary,

I want the whole worl to know that I love you. I wish for nothing else but for you to love me back.

    Richard.

  • @ritchie2322

How eerie. This song will always be bittersweet for me, as it also reminds me of a great love I lost and never got back. And her name was Marie. Thankfully I am married to a wonderful woman now, but those old heartbreaks are never forgotten. This song and another one on the album, A Little In Love, really take me back to that time.

  • @enialbsitruc The power of music^^ Totaly understand you!

  • @enialbsitruc And how eerie for me, that I should read your comment. My story is exactly the same as yours, back in 1980 when this song came out. Fortunately, my ending is the same as yours, but so are the memories. Wasn't that a great time to be in love??!! Oh yeah, it is a great song, too!

  • Great Song, brings a lot of memories when I was in high school.

  • Same here LOL
