  • I would never join a union. I hate those blood sucking, extortionist scumbags. The only good union is a busted one.

  • Union-supporters and socialist-apologists are usually the kid picked last for dodgeball who has a dreadful fear of competition as being innate "oppressive." It's okay, pencil-neck Jimmy, you can get your something for nothing, too!

  • KNEEL BEFORE YOUR UNION OVERLORDS!

Unions are the most powerful and destructive force on earth, they destroyed france, israel, uk. Cities like Detroit, Philly, etc.. They destroyed american industry and made the chinese rulers of the earth. They do not help works, but use them as pawns in their evil extortion rackets.

  • In addition, my company doesn't keep slackers and gives a great deal to its employees with outstanding benefits. Unions make it more difficult to get rid of slackers they actually protect them. You said it by your statement - "Companies already keep negligent....what's the difference."

  • Research - Employee Free Choice Act states that if a majority of workers sign authorizations designating the union as a bargaining representative the union will be will be certified by the NLRB. Where is the privacy of selection where is the secret ballot.

  • I don't have a problem with unions but I want the secret ballot not unions by card checking.

  • Card check is what is currently in place. The EFCA doesn't take anything away - except the employer's ability to intimidate.

  • Card checking is what is currently in place.

  • Companies already keep negligent, incompetant slackers. If many of them are managers what's the difference?

  • Workers are 10x's more afraid of losing their jobs than outside union intimidation. That is a very weak comparison.

The typical corporate tactic is to fire the chief union organizer, regardless of how well he worked for the company. That is the strongest tactic you see as a worker for a corporation.

  • Research

  • Employee Free Choice Act doesn't take a way the "right" to a secret ballot. It give the EMPLOYEES the choice in how they want to vote. Currently employers CAN and HAVE chosen to NOT HAVE secret ballot elections. SEE CINGULAR WIRELESS, which later became AT&T MOBILITY

  • You say businesses intimidate workers well so do union workers. Intimidation is used on both sides, If you really care about the worker DO NOT take away their right to a secret ballot.

  • This act takes my right away to vote. This act will subject employees to intimidation and is a one sided act in favor of unions. In order to be fair you need to give all sides a fair shake by taking the right to vote away you are implying that employees do not have the intellect to make the correct choice for their future. I will not support this act without the right to a secret ballot. I voted for President Obama with this right and I want the same right

  • Just think of all the companies that will be forced to keep negligent, incompetant, slackers that don't pull their weight in the workplace. What will that do to the economy? Destroy it even more. No I am not a business owner. I don't want to have to pay for lazy union workers thru a higher cost of goods and services. Not to mention unemployment rates even higher as businesses close do to lower productivity, and more people layed off and collecting unemployment.

  • Problem is, a secret ballot election is a constitutional right. Our rights are being taken away right out from under our noses. Do you want the government deciding how much you will be paid? They want to do that so they can have better control over you, and the income taxes you pay. It's called federal binding arbitration, and they would take away your right to vote on your final union contract in the event of a stalemate.

  • We got them on the run So we are doing something right : ) Keep up the pressure.

  • Its funny, if you lock at the union busters and bashers profile pages they have one thing in common. They are Obama bashers also. So 90% of unions bashers are piss off republican voters.

  • Corporation No.1 "The United States Government"

    Corporation No.2 "Corporate America"

Their pimps "Democrat And Republican Senators And Representatives"

It won't matter who you vote for and what you vote for the cards are stacked against the American worker. Corporation No 1, protects the interests of Corporation No. 2, Not the American worker. As long as wealth and the Affluent have their hands in the government the American worker is on the short end of wages benefits and say.

  • We need A voice in Washington, as organized workers we have push back power against the ultra rich power base that has hijacked our government.

  • Plus, would you really want the government involved in private affairs such as business contracts, workers compensation, and other topics that I have addressed? They are inefficient as it is. They can't even fix potholes in the street, for God's sake!

More government is not the answer. Give employees real free choice.

  • The more things change the more they stay the same. The slaves are no longer just Black, they are white, brown, black and yellow. The slave no longer owe their soul to the company store, they no longer live on the plantation. The slaves are now allowe to live off site. Most of them can still not afford their own homes and their own team of horses to plow their own fields. Wasn't the civil war suppose to CHANGE all this. Oh No Wait! Unions! We Need Unions! and the slaves will vote for Unions!

  • 3: In addition to helping workers win better wages and benefits, unions help all workers by giving working families a stronger voice in our communities, in the political arena, and in the global economy.

4:By joining together, we can build the strength to hold elected officials accountable, stop the "race to the bottom" by employers who cut wages and benefits in favor of bigger profits, and win improvements such as affordable, quality health care for all.

  • i had a bad experience with a union but i still support unions cause i know it was one bad experience and dose not effect all union experiences

  • This all may be true. However, what's lacking from employers is the choice to join or not join. I want that option.

Everyone should have the CHOICE to manage their own retirement and their own health care. The EFCA does not address this one bit, despite its benevolent title.

Both of the issues I just mentioned is not the employers' responsibility. It is ours as individuals. In the end, work is just work. If we make it more than that by which our rights are infringed upon, then forget it.

  • 1: A voice in Washington, as organized workers we have push back power against the ultra rich power base that has hijacked our government.

2: Working together, union members have the strength to win better wages, affordable health care, a secure retirement, and safer workplaces for union and non union workers.

  • Lets be honest about our intentions, I want more people in unions.

Im not a union organizer; I have worked in a non union shop for 10 years and 11 years in a union shop as a skilled trades person. I will not go back to non union because I would have to take a pay and benefits cut. The following is why I think we need to organize the middle class.

  • 2: They are business owners that do not offer benefits or a fair wage and dont want to.

3: They have been raised in a union bashing family and cant think for themselves.

4: They are holding a gouge because they had a bad experience with a union.

5: They have been brainwashed by the main stream media thats ran by the ultra rich and they dont realize they are screwing them selfs

Union bashers feel free to add to the list with your negative comments

  • WTF the wing nuts are acting like unions are some evil entity WRONG!!! Unions are groups of working families trying to make life better for themselves and others. So you have to question the motives of the union busters. Union buster fall in to one or more of the following>

1: They are GOP voters that are bitter working union families have some political power and used it to vote republicans out democrats in because they vote for labor more often.

  • Wait I know they or you dont want workers to have any political power thats what all the union bashing is about!

    Right?

  • Why are people so freaked out? If an employer is paying a good wage, good benefits and treating workers with respect then the unions pose no danger to them

  • if only that were true.

    :-(

  • anyone else notice how they never mention the major feature of this proposal... the the removal of the secret ballot? woman in the beginning of the video says that employers routinely intimidate workers. if that is the case.. fix it. dont replace employer intimidation with union intimidation. yea? this doesnt make any sense to me

  • I have a solution.

If your employer treats you badly. Why don't you quit? The next employer can potentially treat you better!

    The end.

  • kikkoman1231

    I have a solution

If your employer treats workers badly then form a union with a card check and a majority vote, and better the job for everyone. And if you have a problem with unions you can quit. The next non union employer can potentially treat you better.

  • At least we agree on something!

Besides, if there was no such thing as pension or medical insurance provided by the employer than the employees would have less to lose and potentially quit.

The problem with a democratically formed union is that in practice you need a majority in order to SUGGEST any new rules or regulations, let alone having any consideration.

And collective bargaining agreements are garbage. One individual may work harder but then gets paid as much as the slackers do? CRAP

  • Unions also harrass employees if you refuse to join them. Unions prevent ones freedom of choice. It's just an organization that gives one the "feeling" of job security and job safety.

People need to seriously re-think unions, because you really do not need them. I can manage my retirement and my medical care myself. But instead my retirement will be taxed by the IRS and it forces me to work for the same employer for 20-30 years in order to receive a PERCENTAGE of my pension.

    FUCK THAT

  • EFCA is about the needs of the majority not 5 out of a 1000 people. Right to work is about dividing the work force and denying working family any political power. The working class sees right through your scare tactics and we will stay organized and grow stronger thanks.

  • I was a teamster for two years. When I suffered a work-related injury, they failed to report to me about my options, despite weeks of contacting them.

They're about as corrupt as the damn mob, parading their "friends" up to the highest offices in the union, separating us, the proletariat, from our wages just so these cronies can divvy up our money whenever union functions take place.

Along with the lack of responsiveness from union stewards, all employees should have a choice to not join.

  • Ok lets add fear monger to the list

Thanks for adding to the list. Also how long have yo been in a union And were do you fall on the list. Perhaps you are a bitter voter.

  • You have to question the motives of people that say EFCA will harm workers rights especially if its coming from the business community

  • Business bosses and fox pretend that they care about workers rights; they need to tell the truth they want to pay less then minimum wage, fire and hire whoever they want and make all the money they can. And if they can do that by exploiting workers in the Un United States and other country that dont have human rights, labor laws or safety standards all the better. The fight agents EFCA is about keeping the wealth at the top not about workers right. Do not let them fool you.

  • Unions just want to expand their stranglehold over the American worker. The more union dues they get, the more power they have, and the more power they have, the more control over the DNC they have. More control and campaign donations mean bigger paybacks. They might even actually mount campaigns and successfully repeal RIGHT TO WORK laws in the 22 states that have them! Closed shops are unamerican. No one in a free country should be forced to join any association, esp. for employment.

  • Dude do you think the business community is fighting for your rights to a secret ballot (by the way EFCA dose not take away) HELL NO!!!!

  • The EFCA won't "restore the middle class." Besides, the middle class has gone nowhere. Morons like Lou Dobbs or the Democratic Party are wacko if they think the middle-class is dying. The middle class is doing just fine! All serious analysts know this. Wages haven't dropped all that much for workers, and it's entirely ridiculous to claim that wages have stagnated since the 70s. I mean, maybe manufacturing and low-skill areas aren't doing so hot, but come on. We're a postindustrial econ.

  • Unions need to realize their time has passed. Most Americans do just fine without em and can make decent wages and negotiate on their own. I mean, the highest level of union membership in our history was only 32%. That means 2 in 3 workers WEREN'T in unions! And I'm pretty sure a good portion of those not in unions DIDN'T want to be there in the first place. Union bosses are greedy fatcats. Unions actually force workers to join in non-right to work states. It's a disgrace. Unamerican.

  • if most americans did just fine without unions that would be fine, in fact it would be wonderfull. It would mean the employers are treating there employee's right, but in so many cases in this country thats not the case, people forget why unions where created, for those workers who have been treated unfairly by there employers, poor health care or even NO health care, sick days, vacation, even the 40 hour work week, those where union fights for everyone not just union members.

  • Why are business men so freaked out, if they are paying a living wage and are treating their workers with respect the workers will pass on the union anyway? Why are they so scared?

  • A trade union or labor union is an organization run by and for workers who have banded together to achieve common goals in key areas and working conditions. The trade union, through its leadership, bargains with the employer on behalf of union members (rank and file members) and negotiates labor contracts (Collective bargaining) with employers

  • Employee Free Choice Act still allows for a secret ballot if the employees want it.

  • Heh. You really think most workers will still choose that? Fat chance. The majority of workplaces will have card check forced on workers. Once we open the Card Check genie, we're screwed. You dont' need a massive bill like this to make it easier for people to unionize. You just have to give actual teeth to the NLRB so they can ENFORCE labor standards. It's not that fuckin hard.

  • I agree with angleboot. I'm a graduate of my unions apprenticeship program, Local 18 International Union of Operating Engineers. I feel that if someone is able to just buy their book they should go through additional training, regardless of how long they've been doing their craft. It justifies the wage package that we ask for from signatory contractors. The more knowledgeable the worker is of safety and correct techniques of operation the better it is for the worker and employee. EFCA!!!!!

  • we at ezpass in staten want a union

  • The only reason why anyone would want to eradicate secret ballots when voting for anything is to afford them the ability to intimidate others into voting a certain way. That is precisely why we vote in private in this country, and why no one can be compelled to tell anyone how they voted. This is just another fascistic tactic of the far left designed to ELIMINATE freedom of choice. If there's one thing that leftists are good at, it's naming something the exact opposite of what it actually is.

  • Actually, you are ignorant of what the act actually is. Try educating yourself on what the act represents and what it will achieve for the working people. While you are doing this I recommend you avoid the propaganda campaign coming out of the far right and the wall streeters. Or, you are a fool or one of those doing the false advertising. To the rest of you, I suggest you follow the money. Do you really think it is for your interests that they are fighting against this act? Wake up!

  • Simply put? Government is getting bigger. IF you deny them, when its all said and done, they will be able to take your house, your money, and in this case? YOUR JOB!

  • I went through the same thing back on '03 at Smithfield Packing in Tar Heel, NC. Got so fed up with the anti-union managemant that I left in '05. But, since I left, the union (UFCW) finally got voted in.

  • What the Internationals are saying is, "the hell with union quality. They just want more workers in the rank for more dues money.

Anyone can join a union. Just go to your nearest union hall of your trade and join. But go through the apprenticeship program. No matter how long you have worked at your trade. You'll be surprised at how much you really don't know about your trade.

The Internationals are all for the card buyers, just for the amount of memebers.

  • Heck yeah. Support EFCA.

  • I am a Union worker and I am totally against the SEIU. And have been every since they stated it.Yes it's a form of socialism. Everyone with one pay, no matter what job it is.

    NO CARD BUYERS!!!

Go through the apprenticeship programs or stay out of the unions.

  • Who's your daddy?
