Mostly I'd say this clip is about the late Nancy La Mott who was a dear friend of Kathie Lee. Her point was that along with The Carpenters, Nancy recorded one of her favorite holiday albums. I always like it when The Carpenters get a mention!
Nancy La Mott had more talent than the whole cast and crew of this crap show, including KLG and friends. For Kathie Lee to brag about how Nancy stayed at her house during chemo is an ugly utterance.
Those of us who were privileged to sit in a room in which Nancy LaMott was singing will carry the warmth of that experience our whole lives. ... I still miss her.
I always liked that she still talks about her all those years after her death. I too saw Nancy live at Carnegie Hall, and I am still a fan all these years later.
Nancy LaMott was the real deal-- I had the luck and good fortune to see her perform in '95 at the Tavern on the Green and Algonquin Hoitel a bunch of times-- she was an amazing performer. She conveyed melody and lyrics with great vocal talent and emotional intelligence-- a most moving, touching, and as it turned out, poignant performer. Wow wow wow she was a phenomenal singer and beautiful woman/human being.. 14 years since her tragic death. But she was, and always will be most unforgettable.
