It's nearly impossible to receive a death sentence these days -- unless you do something completely crazy like shoot a cop in full view of dozens of witnesses in a Burger King parking lot, only a few hours after shooting at a passing car while exiting a party. After a two-week trial with 34 witnesses for the state and six witnesses for the defense, the jury of seven blacks and five whites took less than two hours to convict Davis
This guy is either an idiot or misleading on purpose.
IN ANY APPEALS COURT THE BURDEN OF PROOF SWITCHES FROM THE STATE ONTO THE PRISONER TO PROVIDE NEW EVIDENCE THAT WASN'T LOOK AT IN THEIR TRAIL. The theory on that is they dont want to repeat the same trail over& over again. So unless some new evidence comes up, the first verdict will stand. You Troy Davis supporters are delusional he had many bites of the apple to prove his innocence his defense team failed to prove his innocence as for the recanting witnesses once they recant that makes them liars in the eyes of the court this man was connected to two crime scenes by shell casings thats the nail in his coffin pardon my bad taste in puns but he got what he deserved .
@sonbarably No I'm an honest educated law abiding citizen who has the mental capacity to look at the facts most death row prisoners get just a few appeals Troy Davis had way more appeals than any other inmate in history in the state of Georgia facts are facts his lawyers could not prove he wasn't guilty and color did not play any role is this case either lots of whites Hispanics and Asians are put to death in this country too the sentence fit the crime the right man was punished end of line....
What a waste of money to jerk around with this creep for 20 years! Just read the events of that day and what WAS known. This guy was a creep that lived too long on this good earth.
witnesses were threatened to give false testimony and run out of town when they recanted.
a number of crimes were necessary to convict a man without a police record, felony or petty.
Clinton signed terror laws in the 90s that made it possible to make appeals illegal when a cop is shot. it's the beginning of the holocaust of poor people in the US by Zionists and their fake war on terror.
they created an entire law enforcement industry against us and funded by us.
NAACP can suck it they have a funeral for this murdering shit?Served his ass right, 20 years for the officers family without a husband or dad justice is served.
Yes the reason non of what I said isnt public is because its the TRANSCRIPT of the court case. They are using this guy as a political peice, check to see if some involed with the case is running for something
So i guess the security camera, the people in Burger King the Homeless man that was about it get killed, the guy that was shot in the face by him earlier all made up that up, oh well Hes dead no one else for the 22 years was harmed by him so Its a good thing.
@sonbarably At this point it's like crying over spilled milk. He is dead ,and he is going to stay that way. Bottom line! I think he did it and he got what he should have got.
Clinton signed an "anti terror" law in the 90s that made appeals illegal.
the war on terror is a war on YOU. your constitution and a free democratic society. without anti terror laws, troy would have appealed his case and would have been acquitted.
terror laws have created wealthy private contractors and law enforcement that depends on making American citizens the enemy to keep their jobs funded by YOUR money.
the police snitch and hired hitman confessed with explicit details to the murder.
Georgia denied appeals without reason to protect so called respectable people involved in dirty police business. this is why people were threatened to bear false witness and chased out of town when they had the courage and conscience to recant.
@xTheFormlessOnedx along with the rest of the idiots who ruled against him. Straight political decision & Obama mummed at the lips. smdh. Check out America's Dark Secrets documentary trailer
a state that kills its own police officers and threatens people to become false witnesses deserves to suffer economic consequences because your freedom from a third-world legal system is at stake here as well.
boycott:
Aflac Arby's Coca Cola Home Depot Delta Airlines Hooter's Primerica Rubbermaid UPS NCR
@xTheFormlessOnedx Um We are not all rednecks asshole. Really only south Georgia and Far North Georgia is really "Redneck" I hate Georgia because of fucking rednecks and the weather, but no, usually rednecks are too fucking stupid to even pay attention to these kind of things. So Don't blame rednecks. Blame our failed fucking justice system brought to you by our fail fucking government.
@xTheFormlessOnedx You are stupid since there are 2 black sitting on the 6 Supreme Court in Georgia. There were also a few black judges and prosecutor who upheld his conviction. Stop making this about race.
Color of skin has nothing to do with it, an innocent man was murdered, an innocent human...and if theres one thing we can all connect to its our species...I urge anyone to research VITILIGO, and see the truth, behind who we all really are.
@Wyndstarthedruid No the "truth" is that no matter what color we are, we are all human,., as terrible a disease as Vitiligo is, its shows both black and white on one human, a bond...The Human species originated in Africa anyway, so if anything, were all black,.,and our skin color has just lightened because of the environment were in
@TJDlll you are woefully uninformed, We did not all originate in africa. we are not all black, as recent developments in DNA study has shown. there is no "Human Species" we are seperate.
….then WHITE FOLKS (especially in the media) have the NERVE to get mad at Reverend Jeremiah Wright when he said, ''GOD DAMN AMERICA". Anytime you go into somebody else's house & say, "Give it to me, it's mine", like Columbus did the Indians then stuck them on a reserve- will not cause a blessing. America is going DOWN. LETS BURN AMERICA DOWN.
His death resulted entirely from the witnesses testimonies because there was virtually no evidence to accuse him. Almost every witness recanted their original testimonies...and somehow the jury deemed those unreliable witnesses original stories true and sentenced Troy Davis to death. The legal system is so malicious these days. So much for innocent until proven guilty.
@quemich i have a question. what makes me so different from you? PLEASE ANSWER. ps you cant use the "us whites came here first, it's our land" crap because no the native americans came here first. i have the same organs, my body parts move just as yours do, i breathe the same air as you, i have fingers, arms, legs, eyes, nose mouth, and hair, god created me just as he created you so if he created me he obviously wants me on this earth. please answer my question why am i so different from you?
My problem is this. He admitted he was at the crime scene, but didn't shoot the officer. Why couldn't he say who did it? Why did he flee the scene? Why take a 4 hour drive and flee the city?
Black people crack me up. You'd rather believe a guy who SHOT SOMEONE IN THE FACE at a pool party earlier that day, a charge no one denies, than believe every state/federal/appeals court that looked at this, the parole board, and a mixed race jury. That chip on your shoulder is apparently draining away your common sense, because the only other explanation is that 50+ judges, jurors, and state employees are in a huge conspiracy to kill one little black dude. You are retarded.
@BoxingBestSport Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas should really be proud of himself. NO GOOD BLACK BASTARD!!! Even the liberal justices were onboard with the conservative justices for this decision. Our people just don't stand a fighting chance with the justice system right or wrong.
@xTheFormlessOnedx lol mad bro he killed a cop they changed there story because they didnt think they would give him the death. and i maybe a redneck from georgia but i can spell and if im going too hell see you down there. all cop killers should get death
@bigcountry7882 And what about cops who kill citizens shouldn’t they be put to death just like “cop killers” why do we put cops above civilians why are they special they bleed just like you and I they’re not royalty they should be judge just like everyone else ………. #troyDavisgonebutnotforgotten
@calisha2fly ya for real bro i totally agree with u! what is the difference between killing a civillian and a cop. how r they gunna execute us for killing 1 cop when there r ppl out there killing tons of ppl everyday?

@bigcountry7882 They recanted their statements due to guilty consciences. WHY? Their original statements were coerced by investigating law enforcement officers. And LAST NIGHT their statements caused a man to lose his life!!! An imbecile could see that shit!!!

@bigcountry7882 But what when cops kill innocent people? Some how a cops life is more important than a non-cops life? What makes their life more valuable? Do they have a halo around their head? Or are they above the man laws? Does ape law apply to cops? Please get your head out of your ass and stop smelling your own shit bro. Anyone who kills an innocent person should be out casted from society. Im not god to say kill them but outcast indeed for good.

No execution should have taken place with such a lack of evidence and unreliable witnesses. It seems to me like the courts simply needed someone to blame. The only crime committed here, was against justice itself. So much for the land of the free.
@shawn3975 Um if you read the news, a great deal of those witnesses changed their story time and time again, so that is hardly grounds for a waterproof case.
@cunnamullafalla Yes they changed their story. This doesnt mean they changed it to the right one. Dont forget about the blood. Like I said, smoking gun.
@shawn3975 Why did they change their story? blood on his shorts Huh? and how do we know he didnt try and help the guy moments after he was shot? the case is not and was not water tight! there was doubt, and questionable evidence. At the very most he should have served life, but NOT deathrow. Explain to me WHY folks would change their statements? I'll tell you why! because their NOT sure one way or another.. so its not 100% proven, but the guy was killed regardless. WRONG! thats US justice.
@cunnamullafalla Help the guy moments after he was shot. How? By dry humping him. lol
They probably changed their stories because they were paid to. Why else would they risk perjury?
No case is 100% proven, this isn't an exact science. Come on, just admit the only reason you are butt hurt about this is because you do not believe in capital punishment.
@shawn3975 AH! by your very own admission " NO CASE IS 100% PROVEN" but killing him is 100%.. If there is element of doubt, death should not apply, there are many other options, like LIFE behind bars on hard time!. Facts are uncovered now that witnesses were forced to change their stories by the cops! That fact alone should be investigated! I'm certainly against the death penalty if its handles by fools like you who KNOW its not accurate, but kill them anyway.
@cunnamullafalla AH! by your very own admission "I'm certainly against the death penalty". So you are bias in this argument. Truth be told I am not a big fan of it either but probably not for the same reason you are. I think it is more severe to lock someone up for the rest of their life then to just execute them. But that's just my opinion.
@shawn3975 If you're going to quote me, keep it in the context it was in, I said I'm against it if its the hands of fools like you who'd send inmates to death when there are holes all over the case and so much is left unproven and so many allegations are leveled at the police in distorting statements to build their poorly put together sham they called a case.. Quote me correctly! I'd happily flick the switch myself on killers who are guilty beyond doubt! I'd do it today!
@cunnamullafalla, I read the transcriptes 25 people saw Troy Davis , shoot and Kill the police officer, and before he shot the police officer he shot some one else in the face earlier at a party. That's not counting the confessions he told his buddies.
@MrKevint187 really? you read all that Huh? funny because non of what you claim you read was made public! so I think you're talking rubbish, take a look at my comment, i have 16 thumbs, looks like the majority see things my way, not yours!...
@rayray40 Oh, stop that. Stop playing the remember-the-victim card. Davis may well have been guilty; however, he may also have been innocent. There was more than enough evidence to retry the case. Are we supposed to risk killing innocent people just so the families of the victims feel better? That just sick!
@rayray40 Are you serious? With no evidence? Police intimidation. 7 out of 9 witnesses recanting previous accusatory statements. Sylvester Coles, another character of interest, brags about murdering the officer to a female friend and threatens her with the loss of her life if she were to utter a word. Did Troy Davis commit murder? We'll never know because the state of Georgia and the US Supreme court failed to act in a reasonable and ethical manner.
@BoxingBestSport I have noticed that everytime a cop harasses me, my skin turns a little darker. Like Michael Jackson turned whiter after his innocent verdict. All cops of every color over the rainbow think their dicks get bigger whether they write a traffic ticket or shoot an innocent puppy dog in cold blood.
I feel like this on the subject. Maybe he did the crime maybe he didnt...Just becus u dont have evidence doesnt actually mean your innocent .. Havent you guys seen the first 48 show...And none of us know wut happened we wernt there...BUT god knows thats all i have to say..
Nothing is more boring than watching 2 people "chit chat" about hard issues that they both agree upon. Where's the third "Devil's Advocate" guy to offer another view-point? I don't have an opinion either way. It would just be nice if someone were there to state that MANY convictions are upheld with NO physical evidence. Or that the eyewitness recants were technical points of their testimony. Or even if you don't believe that, that 2 of the witnesses *knew* Davis.
i cant beleive the entire world is coming to the defense of a monster who pistol whipped a homeless man nearly to death, and the shot a cop in the face. what the hell is wrong with people? it sickens me. if you steal a life, you lose the right to keep your own.
@Asfasveaer How do you know that? Were you 1 of the 2 people out of 9 that didn't recant their statements to police? Were you there? Did you see everything with absolute clarity? If so why have you not been in the news? The principal of killing a rapist, murderer, or paedophile to me is OK, but there has to be absolutely no doubt, not even a little. Put yourself in his shoes, you're doing your thing, next you know you're arrested and accused of murder. Bet you'd like to prove you're innocent.
@Asfasveaer what part of this dont u understand? do u kno how many innocent men have been put to death? say if that was u wrong place wrong time. people saying guilty when u damn well no u didnt do it..... his final words even sound that of an innocent man. i pray god doesnt judge u how u judge ur fellow man without even knowing the truth
@Asfasveaer Do you have EVIDENCE to back your statement? If not, you are wrong. Any defendant in this case, if found guilty, would face capital punishment. With no evidence this would be impossible. Troy Davis was murdered by the state of Georgia and the US Supreme Court stood by and allowed this act to be carried out(hell, they raised the bar for Troy...he had to prove his innocence as opposed to the state proving guilt...with no evidence).
Were you there? If not, what evidence has been presented in order for you to make such a statement? I can't say that Troy Davis was innocent, but I would definitely refuse to say that he was guilty of a crime that when scrutinized failed to yield evidence or proof of guilt(coerced statements do not count). I hate the fact that Ofc. McPhail lost his life, but two wrongs will never equate to a right.
hmm, more like dead until proven innocent. the justice system ALWAYS and forever will be not worth a shit. meanwhile, some baby killer is living it up at some florida mall.
Congratulations Georgia! You've taken the rule of law, and thrown it out the window. Why find the truth, and completely ignore evidence, when you can just blame a black man? You are a backwards, pathetic people that are hundreds of years behind the times, and I wouldn't put one foot in your state, ever. Keep up the stereotype of the stupid, inbred yokels, that can't be bothered to evolve beyond it's grade six education. You're an international joke, and an example of what's wrong with America.
@robbob1866 - do you feel better after your hissy? when you can advance your response to more than feelings, and get intot he area of using intellect you won't sound as, how shall I express it? dumb.
are you aware it was not only GA that acted here? over 22 years we have had an appellate and supreme court that were part of the decision? did you know that?
you should try not to prolong the stereotype of the dumb canadian - be smarter, you are dismissed
@mollkatless So I guess you agree that it's OK to kill a potentially innocent man? Yes, the justice system is never wrong! You seem to be the one that lack knowledge. Coerced statements from "witnesses", later recanted by 7 of the 9, scream that there might be something wrong. The last execution in Canada was 1962, and was removed from the justice system in 1976 for that very reason. I'm no softy, but if I was in Troys shoes I would like the chance to prove reasonable doubt. Perhaps not you?
@robbob1866 - I don't think all the facts of the case have stuck with you, seems only the facts that appeal to your feelings? he had 22 years & numerous appeals, to say:
" if I was in Troys shoes I would like the chance to prove reasonable doubt" shows a staggering lack of legal sophistication. tell you what, why don't you focus on hockey, or all the different words you people use to describe snow, perhaps along the way you might learn that facts are more important than your feelings, ok?
@mollkatless Man this is fun! FYI, you use the same words for snow as we do. So Professor, where did you get your legal degree? The Georgia Supreme Court, the US District Court in Savannah, and the US Supreme Court all denied Troys appeals, so how is that 22 years of appeals? You cant have an appeal if you're not granted one. You should check out what Judge Scalia wrote about it, he slammed the Georgia courts. I can send you a link if you want? Georgia, & US were saying new evidence not allowed.
@robbob1866 - I don't think all the facts of the case have stuck with you, seems only the facts that appeal to your feelings? he had 22 years & numerous appeals, to say:

I'd be the 1st 2 say, throw the biggest book @ him if he slayed a man ruthlessly 4 no good reason but this... I hope Troy's family continues 2 fight. I know how it is 2 have some1 very, very close murdered w/ no chance 2 fight & justice has not been served in 9yrs. But Am I suggesting the death penalty 4 every1 that witnessed it or was said 2 b on the scene just because the authorities have no one on trail? This was like a legal hit on a man w/o sufficient evidence. That's called retaliation.
racism,no racism...the point is there was doubt,if the majority of the witnesses recounted,if there was even the slightest doubt he may have been not guilty,it should have been explored.justice may be blind, but i'm afraid her hearingds gone out also...:(
So if it's proven that he was put to death wrongfully, should the judge get put to death? Never happen! Fuckin South, bunch of kill happy hillbillies! It's like they said you lived long enough, time to kill you weather we can prove it or not. that's some ole Bush/Texas, Arnold/Cali, cowboy shit. such a shame. like he said to the person who injected him, "May God have mercy on your souls". SMH
Whether you think he is guilty, or I think he is innocent, none of us have the right to say if he got into heaven or not. The only person that knows that is GOD so leave it up to him and stop trying to play his role because that's a sin too.. and like the bible says, no sin is greater than the other.. #Think about it.. #Bye
We as Americans are always talking other countries, and them being less privileged but yet we give them so much shit about coming to our country and becoming a citizen.. then the other half of us complain about them...and Yes, I feel deeply sorry for the victims family. Extremely sorry at that, but that doesn't mean to just kill anybody for the crime...

Georgia ran an illegal third world apartheid trial by barring the family members of the accussed from the proceedings.
A military, patriotic family never in trouble with the police.
Before witnesses were threatened by police, they named someone else at the scene.
A conviction obtained through crimes and no physical evidence means the gun was a police officer's gun - the only reason it would disappear.

terror laws made appeals illegal.
terror laws were created for Zioinists and their fake war on terror. NO AMERICAN of any color has rights. we are Palestinians.
they intend to exterminate all Arabs with the help of the west and to enslave all people and that means poor white Americans too.
then they'll move on to the war between Christian and Jewish Zionists. if they're smart enough to orchestrate 9/11, who do you think will win?

@tinywentz
so people who've never committed a crime are the most likely suspects in killing cops? you have to have no brain to think something so irrational.
why were witnesses threatened to provide false testimony and run out of town when they recanted?
how would all of these felonies be necessary to convict a guilty man?
sonbarably 4 months ago
@sonbarably At this point it's like crying over spilled milk. He is dead ,and he is going to stay that way. Bottom line! I think he did it and he got what he should have got.
tinywentz 4 months ago
the killer who was at the scene confessed. witnesses were threatened to bear false witness and recanted.
when they recanted they were chased out of town. threatenning witnesses is a felony. a conviction obtained through a string of crimes.
how difficult even for a mentally challenged person is it to understand these facts?
troy was there and tried to help the cop.
it's called circumstancial evidence. not hard to figure out why it's not what a prosecution builds a case on.

this is the result of the "war" on terror.

@cunnamullafalla 34 witnesses, blood on his shorts. Seems like a smoking gun to me. If he were white the liberal media would not care.
shawn3975 4 months ago
@shawn3975 Um if you read the news, a great deal of those witnesses changed their story time and time again, so that is hardly grounds for a waterproof case.
cunnamullafalla 4 months ago
@cunnamullafalla Yes they changed their story. This doesnt mean they changed it to the right one. Dont forget about the blood. Like I said, smoking gun.
shawn3975 4 months ago
@shawn3975 Why did they change their story? blood on his shorts Huh? and how do we know he didnt try and help the guy moments after he was shot? the case is not and was not water tight! there was doubt, and questionable evidence. At the very most he should have served life, but NOT deathrow. Explain to me WHY folks would change their statements? I'll tell you why! because their NOT sure one way or another.. so its not 100% proven, but the guy was killed regardless. WRONG! thats US justice.
cunnamullafalla 4 months ago
@cunnamullafalla Help the guy moments after he was shot. How? By dry humping him. lol
They probably changed their stories because they were paid to. Why else would they risk perjury?
No case is 100% proven, this isn't an exact science. Come on, just admit the only reason you are butt hurt about this is because you do not believe in capital punishment.
shawn3975 4 months ago
@shawn3975 AH! by your very own admission " NO CASE IS 100% PROVEN" but killing him is 100%.. If there is element of doubt, death should not apply, there are many other options, like LIFE behind bars on hard time!. Facts are uncovered now that witnesses were forced to change their stories by the cops! That fact alone should be investigated! I'm certainly against the death penalty if its handles by fools like you who KNOW its not accurate, but kill them anyway.
cunnamullafalla 4 months ago
@cunnamullafalla AH! by your very own admission "I'm certainly against the death penalty". So you are bias in this argument. Truth be told I am not a big fan of it either but probably not for the same reason you are. I think it is more severe to lock someone up for the rest of their life then to just execute them. But that's just my opinion.
You should watch MSNBCs lockup series.
shawn3975 4 months ago
@shawn3975 If you're going to quote me, keep it in the context it was in, I said I'm against it if its the hands of fools like you who'd send inmates to death when there are holes all over the case and so much is left unproven and so many allegations are leveled at the police in distorting statements to build their poorly put together sham they called a case.. Quote me correctly! I'd happily flick the switch myself on killers who are guilty beyond doubt! I'd do it today!

@rayray40 Oh, stop that. Stop playing the remember-the-victim card. Davis may well have been guilty; however, he may also have been innocent. There was more than enough evidence to retry the case. Are we supposed to risk killing innocent people just so the families of the victims feel better? That just sick!
fileboy2002 5 months ago
@rayray40 Are you serious? With no evidence? Police intimidation. 7 out of 9 witnesses recanting previous accusatory statements. Sylvester Coles, another character of interest, brags about murdering the officer to a female friend and threatens her with the loss of her life if she were to utter a word. Did Troy Davis commit murder? We'll never know because the state of Georgia and the US Supreme court failed to act in a reasonable and ethical manner.

@Asfasveaer Do you have EVIDENCE to back your statement? If not, you are wrong. Any defendant in this case, if found guilty, would face capital punishment. With no evidence this would be impossible. Troy Davis was murdered by the state of Georgia and the US Supreme Court stood by and allowed this act to be carried out(hell, they raised the bar for Troy...he had to prove his innocence as opposed to the state proving guilt...with no evidence).
kevinjones238 5 months ago
Were you there? If not, what evidence has been presented in order for you to make such a statement? I can't say that Troy Davis was innocent, but I would definitely refuse to say that he was guilty of a crime that when scrutinized failed to yield evidence or proof of guilt(coerced statements do not count). I hate the fact that Ofc. McPhail lost his life, but two wrongs will never equate to a right.

@mollkatless Man this is fun! FYI, you use the same words for snow as we do. So Professor, where did you get your legal degree? racism,no racism...the point is there was doubt,if the majority of the witnesses recounted,if there was even the slightest doubt he may have been not guilty,it should have been explored.justice may be blind, but i'm afraid her hearingds gone out also...:(
