@SF4legend It does come with a free demo of protools but im sure it would work. You would have to download the drivers for the interface and it should work not just with protools but probably with any other capable recording program

Hope your problem with only hearing sound in one side got fixed, i think somebody mentioned that it could be in your Cubase or DAW software where you have one side muted or not correctly configured for stereo. try another box from a friend and see if same thing happens. thx :)

I don't know if you realized this yet or not, but the fast track pro is 4x4 device, there is both a dual channel TRC out on the back and a dual channel TRC in on the back

Wow, you smack at the beginning of EVERY sentence. That's the biggest pet peeve of mine. Since I don't know you and I'd never want to ask a real person, why do you do that? Does it happen on accident? Is that on purpose? It seems like that takes so much energy to do that 50+ times in less than 5 minutes. Please enlighten me.

@TheSingateh well my set up is plugging in the RCA cables from the interface to my mixer and then usb to my laptop... that i do.. if you are not looking for the type of set up i have then i recommend checking out some set up videos from other youtube users.

@dudeitsart Honestly I am not sure if you can use Garage Band with this interface. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use it but i've never done it so I can't tell you if it works or not. Sorry about that.

The Fast Track Ultra has 8 inputs with 4 pres.

@mr4y Yes that is true but the Fast Track Pro have 4 inputs... So pretty much half of the Ultra's features

The reason it only records on one side is because you might be recording in mono on the device, but in your daw(cubase) you have to create a mono track to record on, and you are probably recording on a stereo track. Thats why. 95% sure.

can you use xlr inputs on front and trs on back at same time

@whitexgreen Yes, you can. The front inputs have a XLR and 1/4 in. input but if you want to put 2 XLR and then 2 TRS at the same time you can.
