Gurdjieff sought to liberate people internally. Gurdjieff regarded all politics as the sum total result of the automatic, mechanical actions of automatons; human beings who - though they have the capacity of developing free will, believe that they already possess this when, in truth, they are automatons ruled by their fears and desires.

Mr.Piatigorsky(Pilosopher in the clip) is talking about only one man who was as profound and original as Gurjiev, Krishnamurty. Im a big fan of free thinkers like Gurjiev, Osho etc, but to my own understanding nobody comes close to Krishnamurty's deepness or integrity as a spiritual teacher. Though Krishnamurty was younger then Gurjiev his influence was larger. Gurjiev ideas were still conditioned within Theosophical points of view especialy on the role of the Guru.
