  • the 2010-present 4Runner is assembled in

    Tahara, Aichi, Japan

  • 1st Generation 4Runner.. Enough said

  • do you have a test drive review on the new 4Runner?

  • What a sweet ride...own Toyotas and Hondas all my life and still loving it. Best money ever spent..Yaahhhhh

  • Did he say barrel shit from sequoia at the beginning

  • @grandma69me barrel shape lol

  • woop woop toyota all the way

  • $1,000 off if you survive the dest drive. Umm Body on frame does not mean a rougher ride; If your In a Nissan! My Pathfinder rides smooth as silk.

  • i like this presenter !

  • I like the styling, but not too crazy about the lack of a V8...

  • lol @ 0:44 Fatty Texans!

  • 4runner was discontinued in many markets....The best one was the 2006 3.0 turbo diesel. Why they did it? because it was a really great car, a car from the real "Toyota = The Best" era. Now they introduced a PIECE OF SHIT called Fortuner. A cheap overpriced SUV based on the Hilux platform. Is that confortable?? NO WAY, JOSE!! At least US Market can still enjoy the 4runner, however I dont like the new one that much....and Gas engines in SUV or 4x4 have never been my cup of tea.

  • geez i didnt know they still make 4runner...it got that tacoma head grill

  • I like it. Toyota trucks evolve nicely and they are tried and true offroaders.

  • Its a nice truck, but sadly for the people who say it looks ugly probably don't even do off-roading and mostly do grocery shopping and soccer momming. But i have to say these SUVs are really under-rated as ive seen tons of leased versions of them at my dealer just sitting in the lot. I would buy one and the boxyness makes very manly.

  • which 4 cylinder does it come with? is it the same one from the Camry? How would it pull such a heavy vehicle

  • 400 pounds you say? I'm not convinced...why don't you have a seat.

  • LMAO! NICE

  • wait what v4 ... um what ... i think it is v6

  • standard v4 or optional v6

  • tailgate partyyy!!!! lets fuckkin 'blast away'

  • No more V8???? UGH I need the V8! Dang the green party.

  • why a v8 when the v6 has 10 hp more then the v8 that was in. a v6 can do the same thing a v8 can do now thease days and the v6 gets better gas mileage to. and you cant say toque becoz the v6 in the 4runner is just as toquey as the v8

  • love this car, and like the party mode. lol

  • PartyMode :P

  • That actually looks way better than the spy photos. I'm quite impressed with the interior and exterior design. But the lack of a V8 or much more powerful V6 is a deal breaker. Which is a shame because it would otherwise be fairly high on my future vehicle list early next year. The body on frame and actual off-road potential is great. I just hope Toyota realizes it needs a bit more power.

  • @omegafiler Are you racing with a 5k pound body on frame SUV? damn lol why more power. 270 horses is enough to power this beast.

  • @omegafiler The new V6 with VVT makes more power than the previous generation V8....

  • @sarzamineiran Well, not really. It's got 10 more HP, but 28 less TQ. And that torque also comes in at a much higher RPM. It also gained over 200 pounds.

And as somebody else commented, I know it's not a race truck. :) But when hauling an SUV full of cargo/passenger and/or towing, you'll really wish you had the torque of the old V8 when you need to go up a hill or pass.

  • its anything but cute.

  • maybe because its for off roading not cuteness u dumb ass

  • Be interesting to see the take rate on the 4cyl. It is only available in the 2WD version, and only gets 1mph hwy from what I read. I guess it aims to be the budget version 4Runner--but we'll have to see if the pricing backs that up.

  • Stop referring to yourself as "suburban dad." It's weird.

  • i think its ugly. especially with the lights poping out... ugh

  • HOW THE HELL IS THAT ROUNDED?

  • They sure made the 4runner ugly.

  • Im glad Toyota is bringing back the ruggedness of the 4Runner. They kinda skimped on that with the 2003-2009 Version. They tried to make it more for the surburban family rather then the guy who goes off-road. They learned that the hard way through paltry sales compared to 96-02 version

This looks like the most rugged 4Runner I have seen in a long time. A definite win for Toyota.

  • Did he just say a 4 cylinder?

  • yes there is a 4 cylinder this year

  • Wow that would blow.

  • the late 90s early 2000's was the best 4runner....

  • There won't be much of a "party mode" when you are off-roading this thing with a four banger, I was hoping Toyota would finally add a 5.7 option like from their LC/Tundra, not digress. The little four will work so hard the v6 will almost definately return better fuel economy.

  • so u want all of toyotas SUV to have a 5.7 engine? i dont think so the smaller the truck the bigger engine wont make a difference

  • dont like this as much as the last one.

  • Toyota people are rubbish this car weights what?, at least 2,000kg, there is no way they can move it with good performance with an L4 engine. They should put a L6 or V8 Diesel engine, thay way you get good fuel economy and performance at the same time.

  • the design still looks outdated... but at least it doesn't look as shitty as the rest of their line up

  • every body buy a mucsle car while u can, i just got my mustang gt this summer. car makers are going green with 4 bangers and electric cars.

  • Kinda looks like a Sequoia and a Highlander had a baby... not saying it looks bad.

The "party mode" button is pretty sweet too!

  • I love the 4runner but.. this one aint doing it for me. Its got lots of potential tho

  • Darn it, the interior is still cheap and crappy looking! Fully loaded Limited 4Runners go for $45,000. The exterior is nice, but plain.

Seriously, a four-cylinder?!?! Now the 4Runner sucks! Those damn green people, they're ruining the car industry!

  • I'm not a Toyota fan but this is a nice vehicle, the 4-runner was long overdue for a redesign...

  • Looks really nice and muscular, I like it.

  • damn, i really like this and i usually find toyota a good brand , but boring. this was looks nice. idk about the engines though.

  • It looks too much like the Sequoia

  • I prefer the look of the LandCruiser Prado. I dunno why they had to restyle it to be so ugly for the US market.

  • party mode?? LMAO

    4 cylinder? are they nuts?

the old v6 already lacks power with 5 people and the trunk full....

    turbo maybe....

  • Yep, that is that green people's fault, those pieces of shit! They're doing it because they think we are destroying the earth with cars and causing "climate change". We are not causing climate change, God changes the earth's temperature, not us. However, in the green imbeciles' eyes, the earth is their god; which is almost as pathetic as them.

  • I hope you're joking...

People can love the earth, but I don't really agree with the whole "cars are evil" thing. There is more at play here than simple tailpipe emissions.

  • the V6 isn't very powerful

  • Cool video.

  • .. A four cylinder.. :/

  • It's nice but it needs a v8

  • why is there a party mode??? the people that will buy it doesnt party at all

  • why is there a party mode ? people who buy this 4runner wont party.

  • looks like crap!!!

  • I have a 1997, starting to break down on me.

  • Dude you have the car for 12 years... you have to say thank you to Toyota for making cars like that...

I have friends with Chevy Trail Blazers and Ford Escapes... those cars are like 5-6 years old and already started to give serious problems...

  • I'm not complaining, I'm just saying its starting to break down.

  • How many miles does it have on it?

  • Around 160,000, dad has an expedition 160,000 miles and still running fine.

  • I have a friend that has a 4runner from... i think its a 86, but it runs like new

  • This sure looks like an appealing car, but on confusing note- they've taken out the V8 and added a 4?! Unless its got quad turbos it wont be sufficeint for a big b o f suv!

  • I was just thinking that...he said 4 cylinder....

    wth..

  • Believe it or not, but 4 cylinders can be powerful too!

You Yanks think anything less than 5 litres isn't worthy of anything. Ignorance.

  • Seriously, when you have a vehicle that weighs 4400 lbs, you need an engine that can put enough power out to handle the load. The current 4.0 liter v6 has 270 hp/278 ft-lbs of torque, and it's still not overly quick. I have a friend who has one. If they put a 4 cyl in the 4Runner, I'm not so sure it'd be a good thing. They'll probably use the new 2.7 liter (182 hp) I-4 from the Venza. If so I think you can look forward to 0-60 around 12-13 secs.

  • I can't see them putting just the 2.7 in there - they've got to have a massive turbo charger in there. I was trying to think of any recent application of boosters (super or turbo) to Toyotas, and can't think of any. The only thing I can think of is the hybrid powertrain - they did say that they would have it on all of their cars soon!

  • Toyota has had superchargers for most of their four cylinders and v8's for quite a few years now (not sure about v6's). Superchargers are dealer installed options by TRD (Toyota Racing Development) and allow the vehicle to retain full original warranty. Whether they'll add that or not I'm not sure. Hybrid is a possibility... the only thing that make me doubt it though, is that surely would have been mentioned in this review. Reviewers LOVE to say H-Y-B-R-I-D :-P

  • Are you kidding kazimann?? First of all, our European SUVs get highly praised for their diesels, and we can only get the 6 cylinders. European reviews state that for a car of this level you need the 8 cylinder diesel. My point?? Power is power, to everyone around the world. Also, for a body on frame truck (Europeans don't employ body on frame), the vehicle is much heavier. A 4 cylinder is not powerful enough (on its own) to move a truck. (See other comments)

  • Always liked the 4-runner, not too small, not too big, and reliable, i guess. I dont care about the party mode though, like the slide out tray perfect for heavy loads, and glad the 3rd row is optional

  • Most of the old 4s didn't come with a 3rd row.

  • i know

  • cool car
